Been texting for 3 weeks ...
Arranged to meet today for a drink at quarter 2.
I got the train to his city (50 min train)
Literally got off the train and he has text
“My dad has been taken in hospital, can we re arrange?”
£18 train and 50 min journey
Feel like crying

Can't he take his dad to the hospital himself via car or taxi? The whole thing sounds very odd.

Shampaincharly · 22/04/2018 15:20

Do not waste your time thinking about it.
Block. Delete. Erase.

Poppa445 · 22/04/2018 15:21

I’m in Newcastle ...waiting for train back to Middlesbrough so not too far thankfully

DropItLikeASquat · 22/04/2018 15:21

HE IS MARRIED!
There is no doubt in my mind. My ex did a few weird things like this and at the time I put it down to nerves/ awkwardness/poor organisation but I came to realise that he was married.
Im so sorry for your wasted time OP.
You will meet someone far better than this dork!

crimsonlake · 22/04/2018 15:22

But you did entertain him. I think you were very silly and allowed yourself to be treated badly, hopefully lesson learned here.

Gemini69 · 22/04/2018 15:24

what a horrible scum bag OP.... I hope you're okay.. Flowers

Lanie233 · 22/04/2018 15:25

Newcastle is awesome, get some lunch in a cafe and shop your ass off!

Poppa445 · 22/04/2018 15:26

Do you think he thought I wasn’t attractive enough?

OP posts:
TheParisofPeople · 22/04/2018 15:28

Agree with PP, he's married. At the very least has a live-in gf. Don't allow yourself to be treated like that again, bit worried you went to meet him in the first place after those texts tbh.

tierraJ · 22/04/2018 15:29

No!! Nothing to do with your looks or personality- unfortunately he's probably married & couldn't stay out any longer

TheParisofPeople · 22/04/2018 15:29

I bet he didn't even apologise for your wasted money/trip!

Littlelambpeep · 22/04/2018 15:29

I think it isn't that you're not attractive. I think he is hiding something. Have a nice glass of wine and watch a film tonight and forget the prick Grin

lubeybooby · 22/04/2018 15:30

married, live in gf or just a completely weird knobhead

no reflection on you OP

block and move on

DragonsAndCakes · 22/04/2018 15:31

You now have a pretty good ‘worst date ever’ story. Smile

JessieMcJessie · 22/04/2018 15:32

Oh for goodness sake stop putting yourself down and forget about the twat! Why on earth does it matter how attractive he did or didn’t think you were, he’s a twat!

This episode has absolutely fuck all relevance to any future relationship you may have. Onwards and upwards and do not give him one further thought.

Bitclueless211 · 22/04/2018 15:32

No. It's nothing to do with you. He is just a piss taking knob

Bratsandtwats · 22/04/2018 15:32

Do you think he thought I wasn’t attractive enough?

No, he had to get home to his wife and child as she'd changed her original plans.

Shampaincharly · 22/04/2018 15:33

It is all about HIM.

Flightywoman · 22/04/2018 15:33

What does it matter if he thought you weren't attractive enough?!

Do you want to go out with him? He sounds like an utter tool, his opinion of you is entirely irrelevant.

Get home, buy an ice-cream on the way, sit in a park, enjoy the sunshine...

userxx · 22/04/2018 15:36

What are you putting your self worth on a Random guy you didn't know existed 3 weeks ago. He's a prick with shockingly bad manners. Do not give him any more head space.

colditz · 22/04/2018 15:37

no, I guarantee it's because he thought his wife was taking the kid out for the day and she didn't.

rainbowstardrops · 22/04/2018 15:37

He's an absolute arsehole and you are well rid!!!! I'm sorry you wasted your time and money etc but at least you dodged the bullet.
Small price to pay I'd say Thanks

ferntwist · 22/04/2018 15:37

Oh my goodness, he sounds so weird. Lucky escape that you only had to spend a short time with him. Next!

Lanie233 · 22/04/2018 15:37

If it makes you feel any better google 'worst first dates ever' and see other people's experiences... I read about one woman who's date picked her up, left her in the car while he went into a shop then came running out and sped off at ridiculous mph with her. Police chase, prison cell, having to convince officers of your innocence, the whole lot... he'd literally carried out an armed robbery in the shop.

... things could be worse mate! 😊

Shampaincharly · 22/04/2018 15:38

How did you hook up with him ?
