X posted Squirrels sounds promising. 😀 good sign that he sounds patient😉

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/05/2018 19:12

Love that song too!

84CharingCrossRoad · 23/05/2018 19:55

@Willow We bought Aldi Tartare Sauce today....
We bought a lot in Aldi then walked back to Morrisons. You get 3 hours parking on Morrisons. One of my friends got a parking ticket for going over her hour and a half in Aldi.......

Horsemad · 23/05/2018 21:07

Hello all 🙂

Been reading but not posting. I am really looking forward to the weekend, off to see my mum.

Willow, I am so glad the exam stresses are calming down - school seem very lax though, imo.
Anyway, as you say, he's done it and I don't blame you celebrating with 🍕 😁

Chasing, glad to hear things moving along nicely with OLD man 🙂 Know what you mean about workload - mine's settled a bit thankfully - not before time though!

Mmmm lamb & mint sauce book, could just eat a bit of that! Followed by apple crumble and custard please! 😁

MrsJ - HOW much to park?!!! Shock Outrageous!

84, Bumble the cat chaser reminds me of when my dog chased a cat on a public footpath in a field. Dog chasing cat, me chasing dog, DH chasing me! Grin

Was like a Benny Hill film all speeded up! Grin
Some people were watching from the bridge and they were falling about laughing! Grin GrinGrin

Willow2017 · 23/05/2018 21:30

84 usually buuy aldi or colemans but was in Tescos recently (rarity for us) looking for shoes for ds2 and remembered we needed it. 'Finest' my btm! Yeuk, left a taste in the mouth, not sharpe and capery at all Grin
None of our supermarkets have signs up saying parking restrictions! But then they are all over the place at my nearest town so wouldnt be practical to walk from one to another.

Horse wish I had seen that Wink

Hmm lamb and mint sauce. Rarely buy it as its so expensive never seen it that cheap! I always seem to miss the discounted stuff these days. Mainly shop in Aldi and occaisionally Morrisons if I need something specific and rarely see meat reduced these days, must go at the wrong times. Always used to get bargains there.

Chasingsquirrels · 23/05/2018 22:02

Am lol-ing at horse's antics.
Had a good time at bridge and didn't get driving home for the 2nd week running!

84CharingCrossRoad · 23/05/2018 22:16

@Horsemad We have recently had a new housing estate built on the other side of our hedge. I seriously think our new neighbours are already sick of hearing me shouting at Bumble. When DP was alive all he had to do was issue an absolutely ear splitting wolf whistle and Bumble would ricochet through the front door. Me.... Not so lucky!!!

Willow2017 · 24/05/2018 13:05

Afternoon all.

Busy day here. Had my appoint with homeless guy. Very nice filled out all the forms.. No problems at all gold pass is mine😀 now all i need is a decent house to pop up in the area.😉
Been to pick up hay fever meds for me and ds2 at chemist then got some food bits at shop.
Rounded up ds1 to help get all the cm stuff downstairs. Omg there is a lot! I will never sell all that. But got onto fb yesterday so will put stuff on there if i can figure it out😀 not panicking at all that its just over a month till our hols and need to get organised and see if i can reduce the 'stuff' we have although i cant see being able to get rid of much more in house i have been ruthless so far🤔

Working later then pick up ds2 from cadets. Will get all the forms this week.

Going to discuss house situation with kids this pm. Gulp.

Sun stuck behind clouds but very muggy so washing is out fingers crossed.

Have a good day

bookbook · 24/05/2018 14:59

Afternoon all!
lovely sunny day here - done two loads of washing ( one bedding) and it is drying so quickly .
Chasing -OLD guy sounds promising , but enjoy regardless!
Horse - Grin can just see it!
84 - I take it the big water leak was all sorted properly in the end - you reminded me with the new estate mention.
Willow - more positive news at last. Does the gold pass give you first refusal? Lets hope something perfect comes along, fingers crossed :) I think you will be surprised waht people will buy if its the right price Wink !
I am just having a cup of coffee , lamb is in the oven with garlic and rosemary, veg prepped up , so may head back to the allotment for an hour .
Have a lovely afternoon everyone

Yes flood all sorted.... BUT The numpty builders have put no phone points in the houses and there is no phone lines either apparently so the road might well be dug up again....

Chasingsquirrels · 24/05/2018 17:25

Afternoon everyone.

Busy at work but productive, feel like I am making progress. Am working tomorrow as I'm not in until Thursday next week - half term and the boys are with me until Wednesday evening then with their dad for the end of the week.

We usually go away somewhere in the UK at May half term, although haven't for the last couple of years - 2016 we got married in half term and were thinking of a few days in Bruges afterward for just the 2 of us but then cancer happened and 2017 I'd just gone back to work and couldn't think about it, even though we'd gome away for a few days at Easter after the funeral. I've thought about doing something this year but got no further than thinking and suddenly it's tomorrow! With the puppy as well its harder. Thinking about things seems to be as far as I get at the moment.

Glad you have your gold pass willow and hope the perfect house materialises. Good luck with telling the kids and I hope ds2 enjoys cadets.

I bet the lamb in smelling lovely book, enjoy your meal.

OLD guy seemed nice and chatting is good, but who knows. Nice to have something to look forward to.

Going out for dinner tomorrow night with my close local friends (although one cancelled last night) to celebrate my birthday on Sunday, looking forward to that as well.

Off to take ds1 to archery.

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/05/2018 19:47

Still alive, catch up soon. Great to hear willow

Willow2017 · 24/05/2018 20:39

Evening all work constantly busy not just with custoners😀 Am aching all over.

Sound lovely Book save me some am starving. Yes so fingers crossed.
Off for ds2 soon. Got some boxes at work might need them sat or for packing !

Willow2017 · 24/05/2018 23:32

Hells bells this is harder than it should be!
Dtupid website will still not let me register interest as captcha not working still. Having to send emails willy nilly Grin
Have bid on two new properties, new one looks nicer but older one prob has better garden and is on the street where ds2s friends live so will suit him down to the ground! And 10 minute walk to school! Fingers crossed.
Also been chatting to old friend on fb, have also put in advert for saturday but have to see if its accepted or not. You cant put anything but a proper price on the advert, very annoying as cant just put 'various' on it. Hope everyone doesnt think everything is £1 Grin

84CharingCrossRoad · 25/05/2018 11:19

Wilf got a right royal rollicking this morning.
He went to the local gay bar to see his friend perform.
He left at 10.45 as he had college. I was asleep. He was meant to message me when he got home but didn't!!
I spent the night worrying till he messaged me at 7.15am.... Hmm
Cue cross Mumma Bear!!!

Willow2017 · 25/05/2018 12:23

Afternoon all
84 Ooops he wont do that again (ha ha) poor you.

Spent the morning sorting out stuff for the sale and washing stuff, pulling car seats out the garage to go to the skip, old bike too rusty really to sell and washing other bikes and ride ons. If nobody comes I will cry Grin
Didnt tell kids last night as too rushed after cadets with showers, and stuff. School is half day today so will tell them this afternoon. Got the forms from cadets, they need every measurement of his entire body apparently! Need to get him steel toed boots on sat too.

Lovely day, hope its the same tomorrow. Working later, hope its not as busy as yesterday, far too much to do while still serving food and trying to do all the cleaning, restocking etc the boss expects. Cant be in two places at once.

Hope its as nice where you all are.

bookbook · 25/05/2018 15:10

Afternoon all!
Rained rather heavy here this morning, but has stopped for the time being .
Chasing - oh yes, the lamb was lovely, and lots to use up over the next few days too :). Tricky with holidays and puppies its true, but would it be possible to take him with you ? I know some places do take dogs.
84 - oh, naughty Wilf, I hope he is suitable repentant ( until next time!)
Willow - ooh fingers crossed on the houses - they both sound good, the one near the school would save you a fair amount of time and effort
MrsJ - how did the cake go ( I am assuming it was DH's birthday?)
I have had a leisurely day so far - went to see an old lady friend and had a good chat, then bits of shopping /library etc, but did a tiny bit of browsing as I was by myself. DH is good, but its so much nicer to just flit around wherever ...
This afternoon, there has been a break in the rain, so spent a nice hour in the greenhouse potting up aubergines/peppers and cucumbers into bigger pots, and sowing a few bits of salad leaves and basil .
Just having a cup of coffee, and then onto jam making. If I have time, I am going to attempt some rhubarb and star anise cordial.
Have a lovely day everyone

Hello all

Sorry I've been a bit absent. It's been a bit of a busy week understatement DH's birthday cake worked very well, thank you Smile and I've eaten most of it too Blush

Been on a fundraising walk with DD's school today....10 miles. I have never walked that far, and don't intend to - until they do it again in 2 years time and if she's not too ashamed to be seen with me by then.

84 hope Wilf doesn't do that again. You must have had a very worried/long night.

Willow I hope that you get a lovely house. So pleased that you're at gold level and I hope the garage sale goes well. If I wasn't so far away, I'd have come for a mooch Wink

Squirrel and horse hope work is under control. Sounds like a good weekend lined up Squirrel Did you mention it's your birthday Sunday??? Flowers

You must be flat out at the allotment now book I've got a few seedlings that need planting into our raised bed tomorrow.

Anyone got any exciting half term plans? Guessing you don't have bank holiday Willow?

MrsJonesAndMe · 25/05/2018 15:49

Chasingsquirrels · 25/05/2018 16:04

You never stop book, sounds like a nice day and jam making - yum. I don't think rhubarb jam has occurred to my mum, although my dad sells a lot of theirs.
Yes I'm sure we can have dog friendly breaks in the UK in the future, but he isn't totally house trained at night yet. My parents would happily have him as well and will do if we go away in the summer - which I plan to but havent organised.

Good that DH's came went well cake and another yum for the eating of it!

Hope you have recovered from the fitful night sleep Wilf inflicted on you 84 x

I'm sure you will get lots of people at the sale Willow, fingers crossed etc.

Another good day at work, I feel I am getting on top of things 😀, although I'm now not in until next Thursday and who knows what will have happened by then!
I was going to get cakes for work on the way in for my birthday but it started raining heavily and I didn't have a coat, so I'll get them next week.

Oh, and I feel upbeat and positive about life at the moment (mostly).
You wonderful ladies have been here for me over the last year or so when that hasn't been the case and I've appreciated it so much and wanted to share how I am now.

Chasingsquirrels · 25/05/2018 16:05

X-posted on the cake cake - Fab!

Chasingsquirrels · 25/05/2018 16:09
