I've just let the dogs out into the front garden for their last pee and Bumble saw a cat and goes across the lawn like Usain Bolt!!!! 🙄🙄🙄🙄 I was of course screaming at him like a demented banshee and then had to make abject apologies to the poor woman walking past who I scared the bejesus out of. Just pickedhalf a tree out of my hair where I went to inspect where the cat had gone just to make sure it had actually got away which thankfully it had!!! Not amused Bumble not at all!!! 😰😰😰😰😰😰😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/05/2018 06:37

Morning!

That sounds...uhm...exciting 84 Grin Hmm

What a busy day book

Off for a long walk

Willow2017 · 22/05/2018 08:26

Morning.

Yesterday was awful. Spent a lot of time crying was just mentally 'done'. Teachers blaming ds1. Now i dont believe he is blameless but i think he felt deflated and 'whats the point' and "i cant recoup 4 months work in a week" sort of way.

Its all a bit confusing that he was told last day of term then told he couldnt do it at home now he can but has to write it out in school (which is a problem for him his writing is appalling if he has a deadline he used laptops for other subjects) But after a yelling match, tears and panics he has done something. Guidance teacher said just a couple of paragraphs would do. So 3 paragraphs and a graph later he just has to spend today writing it out several times to get it into his head for tomorrow. If its not enough i dont care its been a royal miscommunication all round.

Apparently he was off the day they had thier choices for subjects done so guidance teacher had done it with him! One of the columns he has to fill is 'hairdressing', 'photography' or 'fitness/ employment' what the hell? He had to chose photography (we dont even have a proper camera but apparently dont need one!) what a waste why dont they have extra classes or free study periods?

Rant over.

84 sounds like a monty python sketch 😀

Off to school with ds1 then housework and ds1 and his rewriting....wish me luck.

Morning
Sunny, but breezy today
big big ((hugs)) Willow - you have done what you can. I'm sorry, but the explanation they gave is a load of cobblers to my mind. They are offloading the guilt onto DS , trying to wriggle out of responsibility and thats just rubbish.
84 oh dear - are you in one piece after that?
MrsJ - a long walk sounds nice - no smalls today?
Well, need to shift - bits to do all day and DD2 is coming for tea
So I need to get to the market/library and supermarket this morning. Would have liked to get to the allotment, but short of time today
Have a lovely day everyone

Book i tend to agree but its them v ds and its done now. But i will make bloody sure it doesn't happen again. Gone down in my estimation a bit tbh.

Went for my shopping yesterday and my usual coffee and read but took the wrong book! Was at a really sad part of the book i have been reading for a while (but had another book to take) and didnt want to read it in public (damm you Sai King) so there i was trying to hide the fact i was tearing up in the cafe and blowing my nose as quietly as poss😀😀 had a good blub when i got home though 😀😀

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/05/2018 14:27

I am working, so double buggy got some exercise. 3 hours parking = £10!!! That's when living somewhere where posh people live becomes a pain.

(((hugs))) willow

Hope you get all your bits done book I really want to do yoga and crochet tonight when DS is in bed, but he's decided DH must have a 3 tier cake in red white and blue, so I'm going to have to bake tonight...

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/05/2018 14:29

And just as I typed that, I realised that I didn't get butter in for that... FFS! Guess I need to swing in to the shop on the way to school because I didn't just come that way

Willow2017 · 22/05/2018 15:38

mrsj thats just typical isnt it. £10😲😲😲

3 tier cake! Just what you dont need after a busy day.

Off to work. Wet and miserable and foggy today. Might get a quieter day🤔

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/05/2018 20:48

Hope it was quiet Willow

I'm just sat down for 5 while the last cools. Not complicated or fancy - just fussy! Would have been good if DS went to sleep before 8:30 after last night being late too!

Really hoping Selena is OK. Does anyone have details that are not MN to check on her?

Chasingsquirrels · 22/05/2018 21:09

No, have been concerned about @SelenaValentine too and tagged her a few times. Hope you are okay, but understand if you don't want to be posting here.

Which reminds me again that I really must email Juan, need to boot up my laptop to do so and just never do that nowadays.

Willow2017 · 22/05/2018 22:12

Was wondering about Sekena too. Hope she jas just been too busy to post.

Work busy but not late finished for once. Was knackered though. Staff member had reason to finish on time so was making sure we all knew😉

Working friday extra now. Deep breath and think of the pennies 😀
Will need to sort all cm stuff out in afternoon for sat morning. Not convinced anyone will appear. Might get ds1 to set up a facebook acc for me tomorrow and post on selling pages whatever they are.

Chasingsquirrels · 23/05/2018 08:04

Work busy for me - I have a list as long as my arm of things I need to do and never seem to get started on them as I am busy firefighting things that arise daily.
Worked till gone 4pm yesterday, meant to finish at 2.30pm. I just clock it to TOIL but it's a never ending cycle.
I'm off next Mon - Wed with the kids though, and then they are with their dad for the end of the week. I'm currently wondering whether to work Fri this week as I'll only be in 2 days next.

Bridge Club tonight which is always good 😁.

Willow2017 · 23/05/2018 10:38

Morning all.
Ds1 just txt Apparently his 3 paragraphs and graph are 'useless info' and he has to do it again! Perhaps its not sciency enough who knows. Obviously 3 paragraphs wasnt enough after all.

Am pottering this am cleaning oven. Well putting oven pride in and leaving for 4 hours and bagging up the racks😀 Just wiped it all out few days ago where does all the mess come from?

Wet again here cloudy and dismal.

Ds2 has optician after school to get his new glasses as has to be opti person who checks them. Ds1 is supposed to be having friend over later to upgrade his pc for him.

Willow2017 · 23/05/2018 11:20

I went to pick up ds1 was dreading it, had a hole in my stomach as was expecting an angry hyped up kid but...
ITS DONE😀😀
Teacher explained what was missing and got a laptop and let ds1 see something he had used in the original stuff he had done and told him to redo it adding the sciency stuff. At the end he actually told him "thats more like your usual work laddie. Well done."

Oh and he passed the unit he resat.😃😃😃😃

Hugs all round and i shed a tear or to on the way home as he explained what had gone on. Pizza from chippy tonight as celebration for him😀

Willow2017 · 23/05/2018 11:20

Not resat he missed it!

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/05/2018 12:28

Hurrah willow

Do the need more staff squirrel you sound perpetually rushed off your feet.

Mostly good day here. I lost an earring the other day from a set DS gave me. DH reordered them and just got them... he's a good egg!

Hope you're OK book I'm going to do some crochet tonight! I must!

Willow2017 · 23/05/2018 12:36

Squirrels
I echo what MrsJ said.
Surely if you cannot get on with work due to having to fix day to day stuff then they need more staff in to deal with it. You cant be doing 2 differrent things at once! And its never going to get better if you are having to take the time back.

MrsJ good for dh, its nice when you get a surprise.

Chasingsquirrels · 23/05/2018 17:08

Oh I typed a message but didn't finish it.
We do need more people and are looking. We are all under pressure, not just me. Mine is also partly due to dropping my hours when I went back last year.
But I'm not letting it stress me anymore, just getting on with what I can do.
Productive couple of days which is good.

Glad things seem sorted with the current ds1 problems Willow and some hugs cos I think you deserve them.

Now I've forgotten what else I wrote, duh.

Chasingsquirrels · 23/05/2018 17:09

Oh yes it was well done to your DH cake!

84CharingCrossRoad · 23/05/2018 17:28

Today has been strange. Lots of reminders of DP. Mum and I went to Morrisons where DP used to shop. We had to walk past his beloved Egg Custards and his favourite yogurts. Then on the way home one of our favourite songs came on the radio. One Day Like This by Elbow. I used to play it full blast in the car and sing along when he was driving.

bookbook · 23/05/2018 17:29

Afternoon all!
Willow - that is such a relief for you and DS after all the shenanigans - not surprised you are having a little celebration. At least one teacher has helped a bit!
MrsJ - 3 tier cake ! - I bet it is gorgeous, and what a lovely thing about the earrings. DH sounds lovely .
Chasing - glad to hear you are not letting work stress you - after all, you are doing what you can, there are no prizes for running yourself into the ground.
I am having 5 minutes sit down, before getting on making our evening meal. It has been very full on here - its planting out time at the allotment - so this morning and most of the afternoon has been there . Just zoomed to the supermarket to get milk after we had finished - and they were just reducing stuff - we got a big leg of lamb for £4 Shock - so thats tomorrows meal sorted Grin .
Crochet is bumbling along MrsJ - have done 2 x 12" squares for my Snugs, and half way along joining up a Candys hug. I'm trying to knit a shawl too ... mmm

Hope everyone has a nice evening - mine is meal, hot bath, crochet and early bed with a book :)

84 - did a x post there.
I am still reminded of my Dear Dad - two of the most beautiful things in the garden are out in flower now , things he got me cuttings for . It brings a smile of remembering him now - so I hope that in time, that will happen for you too . (hugs)

Reminders can be hard 84.
We loved One Day Like This, I had it played at John's funeral as the going out song - then sat there letting it wash over me until it finished, hence everyone else had to sit and wait until I moved. Not so much of a going out song then!

Chasingsquirrels · 23/05/2018 17:36

Bargain on the lamb book!
Sounds like you are busy too, but enjoyable.

The boys didn't go to joggers yesterday for various reasons so we had an earlier tea and I decided I was having a bath (hardly ever have baths) and had a lovely long soak.

I am texting daily with the guy I met for a drink last week and we are going out for a meal a week on Saturday - the 1st day I was available! And I'm looking forward to it 🙂.

Willow2017 · 23/05/2018 17:48

Am stuffed and have a blue tongue😀 scampi and chips and a blue slush! Felt frivolous😀 bit spoiled by different tartare sauce i got recently and its horrid! Love my tartare sauce and so do the kids.

Book it was the same teacher😀 am just glad its done. Last one is drama he should be ok for that.
As usual busy day at allotment hope you enjoy your relaxing evening.
Squirrels Thanks. It was more of a sitting down song then😉. But it was your song to lose yourself in everyone would understand.

84 things will catch you unawares which must be hard. (Hugs)

Need to motivate myself to finish the oven. Left it as there was still a bit stuck but have to face it sooner or later.
