Have you cheated on a partner... and have you done it more than once?

Feel free to name change for this!!!

Read sooo many times this morning words to the effect of "once a cheater, always a cheater".

So... have you cheated on a partner?

If so, have you done it more than once (ie to the same person or cheated on multiple partners)?

If you have only done it once, do you think you ever conceivably could again?

PLEASE ladies - this isn't a "lets stone the unfaithful" thread - it is about finding out if it is a fair assessment, and whether or not we should trust again if it is a "one off".

yes once when 19 to a boyfriend

noddyholder · 01/05/2007 16:38

dp never
other botfriends-all of them

expatinscotland · 01/05/2007 16:38

To either of my husbands? No.

To previous partners? Yes.

I have also been the 'other woman'. I was 19, he was 43 and my philosophy professor. Not one of my prouder moments, but we had an affair for a year.

tiredemma · 01/05/2007 16:38

old boyfs yes.

dp, no- never- couldnt even contemplate it.
Love him too much to betray him and my children.

ThomCat · 01/05/2007 16:39

When DP and I were first seeing each other very early on I was very flirty with someone when I went away to Canada and let it go a bit further but not oral and not sex, just very sexy snogging and groping.
I told DP about it years later when we started living together.

With past boyfriends I nearly always ended a relationship becasue I had met someone else!

fifisworld · 01/05/2007 16:42

Current DP - no, never and never would as we have ds and could never ever do anything to hurt my family.

Previous Partners - yes, cheated on my ex twice, once was just a fling the other time was a ongoing thing which lasted about 7 months.

yes, i have to previous bf ;it was an indication that the relationship was over.It ended soon afterwards.
I have also been the 'other woman' with a married man 18 years older than me - on and off for 3-4 years.
Have never been unfaithful to dh and I cant imagine that I ever would be. Its just too important to risk.

bluebubbles · 01/05/2007 16:45

have never cheated on my husband but i dont believe that anyone can say they never will, forever is such a long time and people change. im not talking about a one night stand though i mean its possible to meet someone else and fall in love with them in which case the only thing you could do is end your relationship.

if my dh ever cheated on me though he would be right out the door, i know some people will say you never know till you are in that situation but believe me i know that would be the end of us.

sorry for the ramble, i know what i mean

Flamesparrow · 01/05/2007 16:45

Yup me too...

Its looking very much like you only cheat if you don't love, so therefore if you have been cheated on then they don't love you and could/would do it again.

eidelweiss · 01/05/2007 16:45

Yes, I have (I'm a namechanger).

I have cheated on H on more than one occasion, although the last was a very long time ago.

I would not absolutely rule out doing it again, no.

God, I hope this name change has worked!

expatinscotland · 01/05/2007 16:47

Btw, I'm serious.

I found out years later that this guy I only thought was a friend in high school was mad for me.

He's so rich it's not true, and we had such fun together.

If I'd have known, I'd have gladly married him and given him a litter and done nothing else outside managing our home and family for the rest of my life.

expatinscotland · 01/05/2007 16:47

Sorry, wrong thread!

eidelweiss being nosey here but what made you cheat these times, was it for fun hoping not to be caugt or did these men give you something that dh never, other than the obvious

PetronellaPinkPants · 01/05/2007 16:49

what constitutes cheating then?

eidelweiss · 01/05/2007 16:50

Opportunity. Alcohol and charlie. Excitement.

bluebubbles · 01/05/2007 16:51

a kiss is still cheating in my books, and i mean a proper kiss before any smart ass makes any comments about kissing friends etc

waitinggame · 01/05/2007 16:51

JARM · 01/05/2007 16:51
