Guess who was waiting finger primed at 9am and got Muppet tickets!!!!!!
Guess who has a happy Wilf!
School was closed. The headmistress rang me at 7am!!

Chasingsquirrels · 28/02/2018 19:32

Willow2017 · 28/02/2018 19:34

Ohh you have a bit more snow than us 84.

Its -3 here apparently. Felt like it!

84CharingCrossRoad · 28/02/2018 19:52

Yes. Went to the shop at 7.15am. Was terrified as I couldn't see where the pavement finished and the road started. My friend's husband was on the other side of the road going "forward a bit, forward a bit, now step down!!" grin

-5 now! And blizzard again. Apparently work never closes and will be expecting me to go in tomorrow! Not if its like this 😲😲

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/03/2018 06:24

Hi all, we've only had a dusting over night. I'm guessing the school will be open.

Hope you've all survived the night. It is sooooooooooo cold!!!!

Nothing to report here. Check in with you all later.

bookbook · 01/03/2018 07:44

Morning all
Brrrrrr - howling gale, and blizzard conditions here - it looks like about another 1-2" of snow overnight.
84 - oh, well done - I love the Muppets!
I hope Willow is okay - if it's like that here, it is bound to be worse there.
Still plenty to do indoors , but will have to get some fresh air - I had a lovely time yesterday when I went out for my walk Cake - it's a bit more wild today though, but we will probably put on the big boots and walk to the supermarket to top up on milk if it eases.
I need to get back out to feed the birds, and sort water for them - I cleared the bird feeding station area yesterday, and it has been totally covered over again.
Keep safe and warm everyone

We are totally snowed In so no school.... I will have to do my ladies as the other carers won't get in......

Horsemad · 01/03/2018 10:25

All major roads in Lincs are blocked! Snowdrifts and stuck vehicles. Ploughs are unable to get through either. Can't get to work, am going to walk into the village in a while.

It's blowing a gale here. Not nice at all.

Willow2017 · 01/03/2018 10:49

Morning all.
Snow and hail overnight. Its not deep but its been blown into drifts so ds2 is digging the drive out so i can get car out! Sunny but very windy and cold. I am going to go check the road out after my shower (having lazy morning) make sure i can actually get out.

Just got txt from school they are closed tomorrow.

Loving the thread where people are saying kids should just get a bus home or walk home 5 or 6 miles from school in -5 in snow in rural areas if the school closes early as its no problem in a 'red warning'!!!! Or of course just go to the shopping centre and sit in a cafe!!! People are pretty ignorant of anywhere outside london it seems.

Well done on muppet tickets 84 where is it?

Stay cozy.

Willow2017 · 01/03/2018 10:51

Ds1 has abandoned xbox and is out helping ds2....its an omen we are doomed😲😲😲

Willow2017 · 01/03/2018 10:59

Oh fgs! Sun gone and snowing again!

84CharingCrossRoad · 01/03/2018 12:21

Did half of one of my ladies and now at the other one. As I entered the sheltered housing the gf of one of the residents stopped me and said she hoped it didn't upset me but her daughter had her head shaved and has raised £1000 for the hospice where DP died. She did it in memory of her best friends Dad...
Wilf raised £750 for cancer research In memory of DP too...

SelenaValentina · 01/03/2018 12:24

Willow Grin, Grin, Grin!
84, whereabouts are you in Lincs? Have a friend in Waltham who says it's pretty hairy. I love Muppets too, can we all come?
book, keep warm.

Like Jones, nothing to report here weather-wise, bar stronger wind. Still freezing cold!
Stocked up on milk and salad (and chocolate and ice cream and biscuits Blush) so can survive a siege. Keep warm and safe everyone.

84CharingCrossRoad · 01/03/2018 12:28

When I said I did half a lady I meant that the other carers came In and finished off.
Muppets are at the 02!!

84CharingCrossRoad · 01/03/2018 12:31

I'm not in Lincolnshire I'm in Mid Suffolk....!!

Horsemad · 01/03/2018 13:50

I'm in Lincs Selena ☺️ I'm about 30 mins from your friends and it is pretty dire!
Perishing cold, and 5' drifts in places.

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/03/2018 14:13

It's OK, calm down.... I bought a sledge in town today so that means we won't get another flake Grin Wink

Stay safe - will come and check in properly after kids home from school. Dreading going out again!

Chasingsquirrels · 01/03/2018 15:02

Boys school open yesterday and today & school buses running. Much moaning on Facebook about how unsafe it is - I just want to post "you are an adult, if you don't feel it is safe for your child to go to school then don't send them" but I am refraining.
Most roads pretty clear although a few bits weren't great coming home and I imagine they will be worse in the morning.

Not been 100% this week and felt dreadful yesterday afternoon and nearly didn't go in today. Have only done 3.5 to 4 hours days this week though as using up my TOIL.

Squirrels hope you feel better soon.

Well got to work getting up through village was worst bit! Not been cleared since snow started days ago. Got to work and they had forgotten i started an hour earlier today and text me not yo come when i was almost there! Had coffee and came home. Well of course not that simple for me...got stuck trying to get out! Had my shovel out ready to dig snow away so wheels had traction but lorry driver came and work folks and afyet much trying and pushing and instructions lorru driver got his shovel and did what i was going to do and off i went! A bit of mansplianing there? But very grateful to them nonetheless. And when i got back something large has made a single track down through village so not as bad as i feared. Thankful for small mercies.
Story of my life...i couldn't just have made a dignified exit they must think i am a complete idiot😀😀😀

Mrsj thanks you did the trick no misteak. I bought sledges for my two one winter they never used them for 2 years 😁😁😁

Much worse a bit south of me A1 is actually closed. That will be why the road was so quiet.

Willow2017 · 01/03/2018 16:09

Squirrels yep if i thought my kids weren't safe or wouldnt get home i wouldnt send them. Its just some people want others to make thier decisions for them (then complain about it)

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/03/2018 19:34

Both schools shut tomorrow, but still no real snow to speak of. I have said we're spending the whole day in bed Wink

Hope you're all OK. Willow I can't believe they let you go to all that trouble just to turn you round again!

Hope you feel better soon Squirrel

Great about the charity fund raising Lottie How is Wilf?

Horse hope you have stocked up on provisions. We have a loaf of bread and some milk and not much else, but we can walk to Tesco, so I'm sure we'll survive.

Waves to book and selena
