We've had 1/2" here so will be chaos for the soft southerners! Still full of cold and just bored now - no time to be ill.

Yes but nothingbdoung.
I meant i found loads of jobs to do at work to keep me occupied. Not very clear sorry.

Snow overnight but small and wind blowing it into small drifts so shouldnt be too bad on roads. Need to go to opticians this morning.
Was up at 3.30 dont know if it was wind and hail battering the window that woke me but didnt go back to sleep so had a cuppa. Am sure I saw lightning.

Hope everyone is safe and sound.
This morning was -4º when I got up, and another 2" of snow on top of the thick dusting from yesterday.
I promised to pick some bits up today, so am going to walk - the car is better off in the garage!
Willow - we had a lot of hail yesterday, and what I call polystyrene snow -( like filler beads)
84 - I have never seen someone I know on the tv - it must be quite odd

Quite a bit and still falling. My day off today luckily

Yesterday's was like polystyrene beads but it's the proper stuff today book! And Willow, I've just been reading the weather forecast for further North and it said thundery snow showers! So lightning is quite possible I should think. I've never seen lightning and snow together - would be interesting.

Now I need to go and get some milk from the fridge in my garage - meant to do that last night!

Horse - we seem to be getting the snow after the day we were smack bang in the middle of the amber warning area ...
DGS has been disappointed so far - not enough fallen there for a snowman

It had eased off but just had another flurry.

Schools are closed here and lots of kids making their way to the hill to sledge! I'm staying in today - making lentil soup for lunch

Made it to opticians. Very slow through village as still covered in snow but main road passable. But only one lane in duel carriageway clear! Very Slight change in reading glasses but everything else good. I get yearly check up due to glaucoma in family but my lovely opt' doesnt think i am ever gonna get it. Chose lovely new metal frames and getting transition lenses for driving as eyes getting very sensitive to sunlight. Opt says its common if you have arthritis so you learn something new every day😀

Freezing cold and wind adding to it. Having coffee and croissant with ds2. Dont fancy the walk back to car park😀

Oooh almost forgot got a lovely comiment in opticians. The lass brought my file over and pointednat my d.o.b and said "bern meaning to check this with you. Is this right?" It was unfortunately. Then she said "Really? Whats the cream called?"
Burst out laughing cos i dont think any cream is working at all these days but it was a lovely surprise till ds2 worked out my age...

Just got txt from school they are clised thurs and will decide on friday tomorrow. One of ds2's teachers was smart and gave them work home for Thurs 😁

Well he came down last night and said it wasnt me who'd failed. It was him who had failed my expectations and he was going to change his attitide to school. Will have a chat later. He seemed quite fired up about his English work that his teacher has said he will be doing so fingers crossed. Am not expecting miracles just a bit more effort and working with me. Not expecting an easy ride but will see how we go.

Well that sounds hopeful, half the battle is keeping them motivated imo so if he's fired up, you are part way there ☺️

DH has walked to work (2miles) I've cleared the snow off my car ready for tomorrow; not looking forward to driving in the morning. Will just take it steady.

DS1 sent a pic of the snow where he is (Scandinavia) it made ours look pathetic! 😂

Well, being a tight soul and what with the wind , I put some washing out on the line. I came for a break from my crochet just now , saw it was getting a bit black so went out to bring it all in . Most of it had dried well, but I had to nearly break DH's pants off the line as they were frozen to it - its like a blizzard out there now .

Snowed, hailed off and on all day here. First lot was freezing i think before it started again. Ds1 has been out playing around in the garden! Came back covered in flipping snow. The wind is cutting like a knife i don't know how he stayed out there. He heard thunder too.

Book i havent done that to washing since i was child😀😀

Chicken in for tea and watching 'the quiet man' blast from the past😀

I'm in my pyjamas! Had a shower and washed my hair so ready for bed now. Will get comfy on the sofa and enjoy having full control of the TV remote

Know it can be difficult, Willow, but maybe try setting high expectations for DS1 on your part - when/if not met - it's 'Oh, I feel disappointed that .... How can we change it?'. Doesn't back them into a corner so they have to feel defensive, but gives them the choice to change. Imo choice is key to many things being achieved. Interesting re sensitive to sun eyes, I've always had to wear sunglasses. Genetic cataracts still appeared but both eyes fixed 15 years' ago - I got the comment 'You're very young to be having these done'. Preen. Still need sunglasses though!

Selena thats an idea. We had a chat and i repeated what i mean to happen. I got the usual grudging/grunting responses but he knows i mean business. Will just have to play it by ear.

I'm in mu PJs too and even got DH to cook tomorrow's curry so I just have to reheat and cook rice.

MIL meant to come up this weekend to "babysit" so we could go to a concert and then celebrate Mothers day/her birthday all in one go...only now it seems unlikely she'll get here in the weather.
