School is closed tomorrow.
Wilf is OK but fed up. Halfway to Asda for his placement and he was told to go home!!!
Two of the mums from school got lots of milk and gave it out free to the vulnerable in our village....

Horsemad · 01/03/2018 20:14

Just battening down the hatches here Cake!
I have provisions in, just hoping the power doesn't go off Smile

Went for a walk to the village earlier, most shops were shut. It is bitterly cold, so not many people out and about.

Hope it doesn't last too long, I am steadily eating my way through left over Xmas goodies and birthday chocs! Can't bloody stop eating Confused

Willow2017 · 01/03/2018 20:33

Went up to the shop earlier as thought we had more milk than we did. Got almond milk for me to use in my coffee so kids had milk if they needed it. Path which had been half cleared ny one of the neighbours yesterdsy was covered over again half way up ds2s wellies😁 snow plough came down the main street and cleared it when we were out and entrance to side streets. Big piles of snow everywhere much to ds's delight.

Got some dvds out i havent watched so going to watch them tonight.

Willow2017 · 01/03/2018 20:35

Wow just seen your icicle 84 impressive😁

bookbook · 01/03/2018 22:48

Evening all
just a quick pop in
Chasing - hope you are feeling better soon
love the icicle 84 !
so many school closures - not DD1's or DGS's though , much to her disgust!
Willow - thats really unfair on you, battling to get there .
Horse - it looked really bad
MrsJones it was the sled - will you be getting any snow? Grin
Here - we got out to buy some bits , all working around here okay though really windy and cold
So - I have been crafting most of the day - sewing some bits, as well as crochet , so been a bit busy tonight, ready to send of a completed blanket to WH tomorrow.
Rather bleary eyed now !
Take care everyone and stay cosy

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/03/2018 06:31

Hi book, I'm hoping I can do some more crochet today. Been a manic week so far. We've got about 1cm! I hoped it would dump some over night, but nothing as yet. Poor children Sad

Amazing icicle Lottie

Stay safe all the rest of you who seem to be getting the worst of it!

Willow2017 · 02/03/2018 10:09

Morning all.
The pesky white stuffs still.here
Bit more overnight but not much deeper. Still very cold thoigh had heating on all night and still cool inside this am.
Lazy morning. Need to get motivated.

84CharingCrossRoad · 02/03/2018 11:18

Morning all. The doctors can't get here with prescriptions to do the satellite surgery today!
Have put a lamb casserole in the slow cooker for tonight. Have to do my lunch call and then working tonight. Am going to make Bara Brith this afternoon. Fruit currently soaking in strong tea!!

Willow2017 · 02/03/2018 12:34

Afternoon all.
Shop still has no milk or bread. Snow deeper on the paths today so ds2 and i had a silly time with it all.
Came home just in time as neighbours going off to town so they are getting us milk if they can.
Dont know if i am working this afternoon. No word back from parents!

Was hailing briefly as we came back from shop i think its me😀 everytine i go to look out the door there is nothing but within seconds it starts snowing😀😀 i am a snow/hail magnet.

Willow2017 · 02/03/2018 12:35

Argh stupid phone.
84 take care when you are working pm hope you dont have far to go.

84CharingCrossRoad · 02/03/2018 12:51

I'm very lucky as all three jobs are within 5 mins walk from the house...

Chasingsquirrels · 02/03/2018 13:47

Not really moved from the sofa all day, Charlie woke up at 5.30am and I came down then and then ds2 came then at 7am and fed him etc. Well I did feed the hens and give them fresh water and get myself toast. More paracetamol shortly I think.

Just been an item on the local news about a new investigative procedure for osephogal cancer (what John had) for earlier diagnosis - not that it would have helped him as he went to the GP and was referred for cancer investigations almost as soon as he had any symptoms.
I'm now in tears about it all, not helped by generally feeling so crappy I'm sure.

Good that your jobs are so close 84, for your safely and that you can get there for your clients x

(((hug))) Squirrel

Willow2017 · 02/03/2018 14:20

I havent done much either Squirrels far too lazy today and havent got the excuse of feeling ill.
((Hugs))

Getying a bit stir crazy being stuck in house. Its far to windy and bitter cold just to go for a walk for no reason😀
And who's stupid idea was it to stop buying biscuits so i couldnt eat them if i didn't have them?

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/03/2018 14:52

We've been out and played in the snow. Sitting with crochet now. Boys off to gymnastics in a bit. Finally started snowing again.

Nothing else to report here. Stay safe all of you.

bookbook · 02/03/2018 15:20

Afternoon all!
Chasing - wrap up and relax- its the best way when you are ill.
Willow -no milk or bread still Shock ( I keep powdered milk for bread making,, but useful to have for emergencies too).
MrsJones - sounds perfect !
84 - ooh, lamb casserole :) - you are one of the good ones -even though they are only 5 minutes away .
No more snow here, in fact it has got to 0º , and sunny! so some melting going on here . It is still pretty bracing in the wind though Grin
Walked to the shops and back to post off some WH stuff, did a quick run around the shops. We had lunch out as a treat - the most enormous jacket potato - still stuffed now !
I have been doing another blanket for WH in between some much needed housework., but just having a sit down with coffee before getting on .

Willow2017 · 02/03/2018 16:04

Have caved! Ds1 been up the shop for biccies. Its not right having days on end of cuppas without a biccy😀

Horsemad · 02/03/2018 16:26

Don't blame you Willow - got to have some pleasures in life! Grin

I managed to get in to work today - the roads were mostly back to normal, with just a couple of patches where there was still snow drifting off the fields. Still windy but it's not quite as cold as yesterday!

SelenaValentina · 02/03/2018 19:15

Whoops, sorry 84/Horse. I'm easily confused Blush. Whereabouts in mid Suffolk - I stay near Creeting St. Mary usually twice a year. Have been doing for last 20 years, seemed odd when I went by myself in September.
squirrels, look after self. Hard when you see items like that, isn't it? What might, could etc etc.
willow, biscuits (and chocolate) definitely needed in this weather.

Still no snow here, but perishing wind, gale force last night. Barometer going down quickly so not sure what's going to happen over weekend. I've done more sorting/chucking, after taking cats for nail clipping, worming and flea stuff. As they're indoor cats, they quite enjoy the trip and adoration from the nurse. Ignore me when back home of course Grin.

84CharingCrossRoad · 02/03/2018 19:18

Selena I'm between Framlingham and Halesworth. Very near to where Ed Sheeran lives!! Grin

SelenaValentina · 02/03/2018 20:03

Grin, 84. Go that way when I visit Dunwich and paddle in the usually freezing North Sea (actually go for doughnuts). Irish Sea marginally warmer but full of the world's oceanic junk as it's a natural current funnel.

Still windy, still cold. Will I get to spinning tomorrow morning - or just stay in bed? Hmm.

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/03/2018 20:49

I'd choose bed Grin

Going to watch Requiem and then bed - a bit of a ghosty one, but I'll cope.

Here's my latest square - though it's got a bit bigger in the meanwhile.

I'm currently watching the third episode of My Wonderful Life.
Four different people who have died leave messages for their loved ones.
Every week I sob uncontrollably...... Sad

bookbook · 02/03/2018 22:04

Evening all!
Been crocheting and chatting to my girls on fb
Willow - enjoy every last crumb :)
MrsJones - thats lovely!
84 - mmm that sounds a bit heart wrenching
Selena - ah, I bet you go spinning - but paddling in the North Sea Shock - I haven't done that without wellies since goodness knows!
Night all

Willow2017 · 02/03/2018 22:10

Been veging out in front of tv too. Not a lot on tonight.
I would stay in bed too😀
