Night all

I've been feeling quite good the last week or so, then crashed yesterday mid-afternoon - I've got no idea why. Feeling quite low now.

On a more positive note the new hens seem quite settled and untramautised, plus they put themselves to bed - I've had ones that don't know what to do at dusk and just find a hiding place, and one that roosted in the tree. Having said that two of our older ones don't use the house anymore they just sleep in a bush - I used to move them but I've given up.

Ds1 just texted - he misread his timetable and hasn't taken his trainers (but has got the rest of his pe kit??), could I drop them off? It's only 10 minutes so I'll take them over at break - got a "thanks so much" text back . He is such a nice person atm!

well, my morning timetable has gone a bit awol - it's raining. I was going to the allotment . Will have to do housework instead .
And I feel a muppet - big shop yesterday, and I forgot to pick up two things I need for tomorrow ....
Chasing - I think it almost feels worse when you have been feeling good . Lovely hens ! I used to know a major free range egg producer, and they plant lots of trees in new areas, precisely so the hens can go and roost in them . It seems that is the natural habit to hide from predators :)
Well, the washing machine is on, so I hope it stops raining.DH has to go for a blood test later this morning, so he can pick up the bits I forgot, and a parcel at the PO that they tried to deliver yesterday ( isn't that always the case?)

Was raining through the night, everything dripping wet this morning (and cold) but sun came out and have washing out. Need to get off my bum and attack the filing cabinet again. Attacked most of the cm paperwork in the filing cabinet yesterday and have reduced what I need to two pockets in the drawer! Pile of stuff to go into storage in attic and had a very cathartic time ripping up stuff I dont need any more as dont need it for after school kids. Still have stuff in my wardrobe to pull out and sort out and in attic! Gonna be cluttered with toys for a while yet!

Got Job centre at 11 and I pick up kids early today then work. Hopefully brambling with kids later.

Book thats the kind of thing I do, old age doesnt come itself

I forget stuff too, even if I go in with a list, hence the preference for online shopping so I can check and double check and amend the night before

Squirrel I'm sorry you're struggling. Guess it isn't a linear thing. You're a kind mum and have raised a good boy Have the boys been baking? I haven't done anything this week but should probably make an effort at the weekend or just get DH to make Welsh cakes

THis weather is driving me bonkers!

Sat outside with a coffee, blue skies, some white clouds lovely, then it started to rain! Grabbed washing in and now its all sunny again.....arghghg.

Might have to forgo brambling if after school doesnt bring boots with them as grass will be soaking. Really want to get some more before they are past, might see if ds2s wellies fit

Wasted day as discovered my google account was playing up, and couldnt get on google play for my game. Have rest password twice, have signed in, have done everything I can think of and it still comes up as I am not signed in to google account so cant save my game to 'play'. Yet another trip to the o2 shop tomorrow to see if they can sort it. Stupid devices are out to get me.

Not baking - sweets!
Last night ds1 decided he was making toffee (very nice) and ds2 Kendal mint cake.
Ds2 came up with it this morning "how do I get it out of the tin?". I've just prised it out, but he used an old tin and some of the black has come off onto the mint cake, and I don't think it's cooked enough - might be an abandon and start again job.

Hmmm sounds good till the black bits stuck on have had my share of disasters, how you learn isn't it?

Productive day at work - no boss, which means I get a lot done!

Sorry you are feeling low chasing, I think it's all peaks and troughs for a long long time. Glad the hens have settled in well and your DS sounds a delight; my DS2 was always lovely and then at 15 he changed overnight! I really had to grit my teeth and try and remember my time as a teen.

Talking of DS2, he is slowly getting more enthused about uni thank you Cake Two weeks today until he goes

Evening all
had a busy day in the end - lots of proper housework , , then ironing. The rain cleared away, and I was about to go to the allotment after linch, when it rained again ,hmph. So, I finished sorting out all my new recipe folders.
It did clear up, so DH and I went to the allotment later, and then we actually went out for tea - so stuffed now!
Cake - glad you are in touch with Juan - I am keeping abreast with the tennis, so wondered if she knew what was happening :)
Willow - technology just is out to get you, this I know :) - but all sounds positive today, with all the clearing away. All that spare space!
Chasing - you have reminded me - I have been gifted from DD2 a half tin of condensed 'caramel' - I have had a quick google, so need to make some fudge!
well, off to crotchet , have a bath and slob in front of Gardeners world

Aghh horsemad I didn't want to hear that, ds1 is 15 in two weeks! Glad yours is getting more enthused about uni.

Went to collect ds2 from judo this evening and all five hens had roosted in the bush. Stupid birds! I put them all in the henhouse - they weren't happy. Naughty old ones leading the youngsters astray!

Book you wouldnt think to look at my living room that I had done anything! Everything is piled up there as nowhere else to put it meantime. Never got any more done today. OOOh fudge, we make salted caramel fudge at Xmas its gorgeous.

Horse yes we went, took the car as clouds threatening rain but it was good enough to hold off till we were done. Got 2 pounds of brambles! Not all big ones but never mind and annoyingly many falling off the bush as they were so ripe Will freeze the most of them tomorrow and make another crumble

Fell asleep watching tv this pm! Must have been all that fresh air (and scratches and rip roarinig backache from stretching over viscious bramble branches)

No lie in tomorrow, swimming first thing then off to town to O2 shop to see if they can sort out phone and get memory card for ds2 and a restorative coffee with ds2 no doubt.

Sorting out always makes more mess in the short run, but worth it in the long run.
Sum shining here - maybe I'll talk the boys into a walk on the Duke and brambling this afternoon, they have Scouts this morning.

Off to the market to top up on lovely bread from the Italian bread stall, some cheese and find a birthday card.

Its looking a bit dark mind, so it will probably rain - ah well.
The recipe is for salted caramel fudge - I am making it this afternoon when I get back .

My DH is a dreadful hoarder and it drives me mad. Every so often I flip and insist a sort out is had. I have to be in the right mindset to do it though.

Rainy day here again. Rained all night and has been rain/ light drizzle all day.

Have appointment with O2 guru for tuesday he was too busy today, typical.
Oh well raked around looking for halloween stuff but couldnt find any dismembered limbs (we need more!) but B&M still putting stuff out so fingers crossed
Had lovely long coffee break with ds2 just nice to chill out. Staff are fab and always have a chat and one teases DS about his martial arts

Came home to a mountain of dishes ds1 was supposed to do so gave up and did them. Told them to gut their room or else...I sense a lot of 'encouragement' will be necessary before day is out.

I bagsy a bit of fudge please Book love it.

We've been to the park and then DD and I went to town for shoe shopping torture and lunch while the boys went to the neighbouring town to collect something and lunch too. Now I'm so stuffed I don't want to do anything else...only I've said that I need to go out jogging tonight - not been out in a very long time, so it will hurt.

Horse my mum is adamant she gets more work done when the boss is out.

book the weather has been very wet. Hope the allotment isn't suffering too much. Picked a bowl full of tomatoes from our little raised bed. Very proud.

willow I hope the boys do sort their room. Sounds like a busy weekend for you.

Oh and on the topic of sorting, just sorted the porch so lots of old shoes and coats taken out but now a massive pile of stuff to get in a charity bin.
