Just starting a new thread on Juan's orders. She'll be back when she feels up to it.

Thinking of her on Sunday/Monday as always.

Oh I meant to add. Been trawling the net for new cooker and washing machine before work, am cross eyed.
Anyone know anything about these or AEG in general? Read reviews till my eyes bleed and they seem to be good machines.
Both are AEG. Wash machine is AEG 6000 Series L6FBI841N 8Kg , cooker is
AEG Competence 47102V-MN Electric Cooker with Ceramic Hob.

Decided that the clothes although clean have an 'after smell' about them and have given up on the washing machine now. It never rains...

Not specifically on the models - but AEG I have been happy with My cooker is an AEG , and I love it , I have had two AEG dishwashers, both good design, though first one had to be sorted under guarantee not had a washing machine.

Horsemad · 18/08/2017 20:15

Oh that boy of mine needs a rocket up his backside!
He has no sense of urgency sometimes. If he just did stuff when it's needed, then I wouldn't need to nag, would I?! Hmm

Anyway, after a rubbish day weatherwise, we had fish & chips for tea tonight. Not healthy but who cares!

Finally bought my lavender plants so they will be planted tomorrow.

Never had AEG Willow but I think they are a good brand.

Willow2017 · 18/08/2017 20:27

Thanks, will take a deep breath and order them Grin

Horse I feel your pain. If I hear "Ok" one more time I might run amok with something lethal! FYI DS1 "Ok" means "Ok i will do it now/am doing it" NOT "OK I heard you but am still lying in bed till it suits me"

Whats DS not doing?

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 18/08/2017 20:38

Good brand willow

Switched off now and cold too, so may hop in bed soon and watch something.

That's not really a quiet day book LOL

Horsemad · 18/08/2017 20:46

Hasn't activated his new bank account, which means he can't upgrade it to a student account. Has lost the letter with the PIN info, so needs a new PIN issued before he can activate it. Aaarrggh!!!

bookbook · 18/08/2017 22:37

Off to bed now.
Hoping everyone gets a good nights sleep
Thoughts and Prayers

SelenaValentina · 18/08/2017 22:59

AEG now part of the Electrolux group. Top end and normally very good - excellent quality so you shouldn't have any problems (she says hopefully!) with them.

Had some very heavy showers and then beautiful though very fleeting rainbow to brighten the day. Off to bed as a. Getting chilly, b. Spinning class early-ish in morning so no lie-in and c. Need to find book to read myself to sleep.

Sleep well everyone.

Willow2017 · 18/08/2017 23:11

Should really go to bed too, have swimming first thing in morning. DS1 bugging me to get on pc....give me strength.

Watching 'Wolverine' with him.

Sleep tight folks.

Willow2017 · 18/08/2017 23:12

Selena
Sorry missed that, thanks, will bite the bullet Smile

Horsemad · 19/08/2017 08:24

Well today I feel really sad Sad

Thinking about CatThiefKeith from MN who died yesterday and then just heard a friend's dad has died unexpectedly too.

Trying to make sense of it all.

Chasingsquirrels · 19/08/2017 12:02

Not been on for a couple of days, just read from Thursday morning and everyone seems to be busy.

Then Horsemad's last post - and basically there is no sense to it.
Death is so bloody final. And yet for those left alive is isn't the end, it's just the closing of a chapter.

We've had a laid back few days, I had a work meeting Wednesday morning then had a nice evening with friends (pizzas).

Thursday I went to get my new monthly contact lenses (I've had dailies for years but need to go up a level as my eyes are getting drier so thought I'd trial monthlies as it's cheaper). I've no idea what we did in the afternoon! Then went to the chippy for tea as I had no motivation.

Friday ds1 went to see his girlfriend and ds2 and I did some housework, then I went to work for a few hours and my parents a me round for tea.

No plans for today, I've just slept until 10 and then finished my book and need to get up.
I want things sorted but don't have the motivation to do them.
I think I'm maybe a little bit depressed.

bookbook · 19/08/2017 13:54

Afternoon all
Horse - I saw that too- life is truly unfair at times :(
Chasing it does sound as if you are a bit depressed. Keep a close eye on yourself -and check with your doctor ( or if you are happy to do so, St Johns Wort is very effective too) ((hugs))
I haven't had much time this morning, as rushed out to help at our allotment fruit and veg show first thing, and have just got back to have a quick bite to eat., and hang towels out. . I did put a couple of things in the show ( for the first time) and got second prize for my cauliflower . I doubled my money - 25p per entry, and I won £1 for coming second Grin.
I now need to go back to collect my winnings, and veg.Cauliflower cheese tomorrow...
DGS arriving at about 4 to stay overnight.
I hope everyone is doing okay today - still thinking of Juan as its the weekend

Horsemad · 19/08/2017 14:11

Yep, life is fragile Sad

Flowers chasing, maybe SJW might help?
I don't think the weather is helping either, I am sick of the rain, and felt like crying when it started again earlier. Never noticed before how much I am affected by the weather.

I am currently waiting for DS's football match to start. IT HAS JUST BLOODY STARTED RAINING AGAIN Angry

Willow2017 · 19/08/2017 14:22

Horse and Squirrels ((hugs ))
Life is a bitch sometimes.

Squirrels take care of yourself and if you need to go see Gp. (Or try Books suggestion first.

Swimming first thing them into town. DS1 needed trainers as we forgot to get 2nd pair in hols. (1 for school 1 for home) and several pairs of joggers for DS2 as he is growing out of his, they are all creeping towards his knees.😀 I keep hitting him over the head but he just keeps growing!

Going to have lunch then watch 'Mrs Brown's Boys Da Movie' with Ds2. Got it in charity shop and he is desperate to watch it 😀

Book well done with your cauliflower. Don't spend all your winnings in the one shop.😉

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 19/08/2017 16:16

Hello all

What happened to Keith??? She's the one who had the most random posts about her family including spending a holiday sleeping on the inflatable to get some sleep???

We've done PP world and come back, DS had enough, so no need to eat tea at services, but no will to cook = Chinese

Not much else to report here. Sending lots of hugs and thoughts to you all - especially horse and squirrels

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 19/08/2017 16:26

Meningitis - poor family of Keith... Sad

Horsemad · 20/08/2017 09:27

Morning All

I am still in bed, have been reading MN for ages so should get up really.

The weather appears to be bright at the moment so I think a walk might be in order, then I need to make some 'To Do' lists and actually 'DO' stuff!

Hope everyone has a good day. Smile

Chasingsquirrels · 20/08/2017 09:38

Didn't do much yesterday.
Got up around midday, having finished the book I fell asleep reading the night before. Both boys were in dressing gowns playing games so I suggested pancakes for lunch which went down well.
Ds1 went to see his girlfriend and ds2 & I went and got him kitted out with stationery for school.
Watched the final of Child Genius on +1 and then the 2nd Hunger Games film, which didn't finish until nearly 1am - there is no way I'd let them be up so late normally, it all just slips in the holidays.

Over to my parents for lunch today then ds2 has a friend for a sleepover tonight.
Looks like a nice day so might suggest a bike ride this morning.

Ds2 has been nagging me about getting a dog recently. I know he's always wanted one (we had one who died when we was 2.5 but he can't remember her) but it's gone up several notches the last few months.
I would like another dog in many ways, but I'm just not sure it is something I could cope with in my life at the moment.

Horsemad · 20/08/2017 09:45

A dog would be lovely but they are a massive committment.

On the other hand, they are great for making you get up and out there!
Always there with a waggy tail to say hello when you come in, nice and snuggly...
Someone to talk to (and they are great at keeping secrets Wink )

I'd love a dog again but work patterns won't allow and DH wouldn't help, so poor dog wouldn't get enough attention.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 20/08/2017 14:15

Hello

We've been out and about and now back home. I have lots of chores to do but don't want to, so currently watching Star Wars with the boys - the real ones. DS has been desperate but it's a bit long and slow for him lol

A dog is a big commitment but does have lots of positives too like horse said.

Thinking of you Squirrel and also of Juan.

Chasingsquirrels · 20/08/2017 20:27

Parents for lunch now ds2 has a friend over, the boys made pizzas and we had popcorn and are watching Divergent.

I just want someone to share it all with, I miss John so so much.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 20/08/2017 22:13

Nothing I can say, but I'm here...

SelenaValentina · 20/08/2017 22:19

Oh squirrels, I know, I know. Flowers

Apropos feeling depressed, just a gentle reminder that it is part of the grieving cycle - zipping and darting between denial, rage/anger, bargaining, depression - that eventually, very eventually, leads to adjustment and adaptation (I prefer this to the usual term of 'acceptance') to the new situation.

Doesn't make it easier, though, does it - perhaps a bit of comfort in knowing it's normal?

I have 2 Siberian cats, which are the most dog-like breed. They're loving and cuddly. They're indoor cats, which means litter tray duty, but trainable to go in a harness and on a lead. However, can't get far with our two. The male gallops back home at any strange noise and the female tries to get up the nearest tree! I do tether them out on retractable leads in the back garden which they like.

Chasingsquirrels · 20/08/2017 22:27

Oh great - I've not done denial, bargaining or anger/rage yet - yay, more fun to come!

We have moved on to Insurgent, the boys all said "but it's 9pm and it's 2 hours long we can't watch it?", I shrugged and turned it on and ds1 got more popcorn. It's the holidays!
