Morning all
I have been keeping busy this morning, until I knew the plane had landed with DD and family on it. Fridge cleaned out, floor mopped, washing hung out.... I know it' safe , but even so ....
Not quite sure what else I am doing today , DH out until after lunch - he is stopping on the way home from dropping them off to do some shopping. The library has just sent a text as a couple of books I ordered have turned up. So , I may just amble to the shops and have lunch out .

Just waving hello from foreign shores - WiFi rubbish!

Afternoon all.
Slept in, and I mean a ridiculous sleep in, dont know what happened.

Pottered around doing dishes and mopping floors etc and am waiting on ds2 getting ready and we are running away to town to get some top up shopping and cafe visit.

DS1 has a big pile of washing off the screen to sort out he was supposed to do yesterday so he is in dog house sans phone (One job! Take the washing off and put the wet stuff on, sort out dry stuff and put away/dish out...arghghghgh)

Drizzling here all morning, so depressing.

Squirrels have a lovely holiday.

Been job huntin and managed to find one to apply for. Job titles still amuse me! Catering Operative is.....a dinner lady! (yes I know they have a demanding job and rules and regs to adhere to but my kids primary school dinner lady was just so lovely it seems funny to me (juvenile soh) )

Boys, they need a bomb behind them Willow - and you would have expected he'd be wanting to stay in your good books! book is so right about that charity shop and I do hear odd stories about bossy managers, cliquey workers. Well out of that one probably. Catering Operative - ha ha, great title, let's hope it's for you.

The heating man has quoted, the kitchen wall-knocker downer has quoted. Gulp. But the hopefully good news is that I've sent off the probate stuff, so fingers and toes are very tightly crossed I haven't made too much of a mess of it.

Well done you Selena, I'm well behind on that - I started off well and gathered almost the info I needed, but need to complete his tax return for 16/17 and I needed bank statements for that, and by the time I got copies ... I WILL get it done before the end of the month!

Hello all

Just a quick one. Already contemplating bed. Had a really good day till 1:00pm when driving home when a young girl pulled out of her parking space - straight into me. So I've had to ring insurance, deal with garage and hire car and will need to get 3 car seats replaced. Ffs, she said to me that she was indicating and I was going too fast. I'd gone from stopping to check 10 yards before I know it was under 20, DH says more like 10m/h.

We're all fine, I'm just cross and tired and wiped!

Squirrels have a great holiday. I will check in with you all tomorrow. We have a nice weekend planned so going to try and enjoy it.

Chasing - hoping you have got settled in - hope it's not too hot ( been hearing about it on the weather reports!) Enjoy and relax .
Willow - a big sleep in is usually your body saying you need to rest, so listen to it! Hope the washing got sorted - its been really breezy here and dry with a bit of sun, so the towels will hopefully be nice and fluffy.
Selena - sounds about right all the gulping - it all is twice as much and add a few thousand it seems to me . Well done on the paperwork!
Cake hope you are not too shaken up . I think it wouldn't matter if she was indicating - she was pulling out of a car parking space, so she wasn't being careful by sounds. Just trying to put the blame on you for her misjudgement. But thats what insurance firms are for - let them take the weight and stress.

Just had a very unbusy day tbh , made some more soup, and have been down to the allotment to pick vegetables after a flurry of housework this morning.

selena didn't go for that one don't have the experience for it. But did get an application form for New Look but not holding my breath. Don't suppose an overweight, unfashionable oldie like me fits their bill ( even though I buy clothes in there😀) had to laugh at the online advert. It was through another company, filled in my details and they sent me an email with further 'steps' in application. It was a map and instructions to 'walk to this address' you couldn't make it up! Hope it was ok to drive as didn't fancy a 7 mile walk in the rain 😀

Oh and remember to get a proper quite not an estimate selena things have a habit of spiralling to several times what the original was.

Just following your orders have got a chocolate sundae thingy to eat once DS is in bed. Also going to put PJs on and chat to mum on the phone.

The lady I spoke to from my insurance did say that I'm not held liable and my no claims will be OK and that I don't even have to pay access, they'll recover it all from hers, but I'm running on empty already and then something else happens.

We'd had such a good morning. DS was a star at the dentist, the extra work I took on was a pleasure not a chore and then it's just...I know her indicating makes no difference! Just hope that it is all upheld.

Well cafe nero have introduced a new muffin, salted caramel...sooo goood. DS2 is distraught! He cant make a decision to save his life and now he will have to choose between his usual double choc and the new one I wish I was his age and thats all I had to decide on!

In typical fashion, DS is up early this morning after having a slightly later start all through the week when I had to be up! I feel like I've been hit by a bus, so thinking a nap may be in store for this afternoon before I look at all the papers relating to the car.

The boys are doing Junior Go Ape this morning while a friend and I have a natter and coffee on the ground

Hope that juan and family are having a good break and squirrel too.

Feeling semi-virtuous as done spinning class - face still red! Going to do Navigatoring shift this pm for first time for ages. At least on Saturdays I can sit down, not stand for 3 hours (and read books on phone app).

As part of the major kitchen clear out, I've decided to just recycle/bin all the crockery I don't like, which should make clearing a couple of cupboards much easier. And just how have I amassed so many plastic boxes? Half the time they're not the right size or can't find lids so do they breed? And glass jars too! Another conundrum, or maybe it's just untidy me.

I think we have the same problem with tupperware Selena but never loose socks so maybe that's just how it goes Well done on the spinning class!

I rarely bother with hanging stuff out horse just cannot trust the weather! May do the bedding tomorrow though as we'll be around if needs be.

DS hated it and they were down as soon as possible. They have kindly said they will refund the money so we will rebook something else with them in future as they were so good about it all! Did manage a chat and a muffin and just uploaded all the pictures needed of car. Now just car seat shopping (online)

We are slobbing with pizza tonight too, watching the athletics. Had a quiet day, long lie in then a bit of housework and shopping. DH wanted to come which meant I couldn't potter around as much as I wanted to as shopping makes him bored and twitchy.

Cake glad the car will get sorted out, what a nuisance though. Selena I hear you on the tupperware. I need a good clear out too.

I'm off to London on Monday, so getting excited. Hope Juan & Chasing are enjoying their holidays.

Been a quiet day here I think I have done nothing since ds swimming this am but laundry and dishes 😀 been in a strange mood just no enthusiasm for anything.

Been blubbing over the end of 'the hobbit' 3 again with ds2 😀

Willow in my experience, spidey senses are usually spot on.

I am way to soft, but oh well we live and learn, not the end of the world

Right have a plan for tomorrow if weather behaves itself.

1. Garden, tidy up, weed, plant the stuff I got at garden centre. (kids are helping!)
2. Play 'hunt the ideal cooker'.
3. Look at beds for the kids, they really could do with more modern ones and new mattresses.
