New thread :). Thought I'd start this one like I ended the last one - Bertie crashed out after a busy day's mischief making.

Not strange at all to take photos of the dialysis machine. Flowers

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 07/06/2017 19:40

See how you feel in the morning then. You may feel that you need to get out of there or see it go, neither right or wrong.

Yes, I will be off to bed soon. At least not working tomorrow!

bookbook · 07/06/2017 22:21

Evening
have to get myself to bed shortly - a very early get up
Juan - I think it will be a tough day for you tomorrow - I will be thinking of you. I will let you think I look like Vanessa Redgrave - the actual me is ( or was) red haired and tall, but there I think the resemblance stops! Grin
Cake - good to hear your dd is home safe -
Willow - so , so annoyingly tedious doing all that stuff - chin up!
Well, probably not going to be on here tomorrow, so I do hope everyone has a good day , rain or no rain
Night, sleep tight all
Thoughts and Prayers xx

DramaAlpaca · 07/06/2017 22:40

It's not strange at all to take a picture of the dialysis machine Juan. I don't blame you for wanting to make yourself scarce tomorrow when it's collected though.

It's not remotely the same thing in terms of emotional attachment I know, but I took a picture of my ancient dishwasher just before it got taken away when I got my new one delivered. It had served me well for 18 years, got it when DS2 was born, so I reckoned it deserved to have its photo taken Grin

I'm laughing at you asking what my DS2 thinks of Djok losing - DS2 hasn't the slightest interest in tennis so doesn't care Grin None of the boys are into sport really, although DS1 used to play rugby & still likes watching. DS2 has no interest in sport at all & never has, DS3 likes sports but in a geeky way, he's into facts & figures & statistics. Anyway, I'm glad Thiem won, he seems like a nice lad.

I'll say hello from you on the tennis threads, no worries.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 08/06/2017 05:53

Good morning all. Who thought I'd be happy to see 5:30 on the clock, but that's an hour extra from yesterday! He had a horrible screaming fit at 10pm (nightmare?) and spent a lot of the night with his head on my arm really f'ing hurts

AF has arrived which at least calms the eating down a bit as well as my mood. Coming back as a man in the next life!

Thinking of you today Juan

Willow2017 · 08/06/2017 10:22

Morning all.
Thinking of you Juan whatever you do, its a hard decision and a hard thing to happen even though the machine will be helping someone else.

I think I am going to just sit in the middle of the floor and do some primal screaming Grin
Vhecked the bank and the £ is still not back in my account. It should have been back in 3 days ago, and the new stuff last night bit zilch, nada. Should I phone them yet again and chase them up? Why dont they just do what they said they were going to do? How hard is it?

Lovely morning, was all set to get into the garden and pot up some lovely cala lillies I got into my fab ancient enamel bucket. Put the washing out, nipped to the loo and came down to bloody rain! Its a conspiracy I am sure of it. The rain gods want my garden to look a mess forever.

Just stripped my bed and put a wash on so now will have 2 loads of washing to try to dry indoors arghghghg.
I may run away to the cafe to lose myself in my book and a coffee....

DS2 had a good time at high school, full timetable plus a few activities. He went off quite happily this mornig. Sigh....

Willow2017 · 08/06/2017 10:24

Checked the bank,

last night But fgs!

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 08/06/2017 12:06

Oh no Willow, that is awful of them! Do you want to name and shame the bank?

Glad DS enjoyed high school Grin

Raining here too but I've been pottering indoors.

Thinking of you Juan

Willow2017 · 08/06/2017 13:29

Arghghghghgh!

Phoned up to check whats happening and was given the wrong advice previously (twice!) !
As the case was officially opened yesterday there is nothing they can do to refund the money just now. The poor guy was ages trying to get me a refund to no avail. The fraud team will be in touch within 5 working days to tell me whats happened and hopefully refund the money so I just have to wait it out. What the hell would happen if I hadnt been able to ride it out? £700+ is a lot of money in the first place, imagin if I was on the breadline!

Friends I know had the same thing happen and they were refunded immediately. Not a happy bunny Angry

Somerville · 08/06/2017 13:37

Willow that all sounds so frustrating. When something similar happened to me, some years back, they extended me an interest free overdraft until the money was returned a few weeks later.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 08/06/2017 13:51
Angry
JuanPotatoTwo · 08/06/2017 17:39

Hello everyone. Willow that's so bad. Its no wonder people never have any faith in them when they go on like that. And, yes, what if you weren't able to ride it out. They haven't been brilliant with some issues I've had since Mark died but at least I haven't had to worry about being scammed like you. Glad your ds enjoyed high school, one thing less to worry over for now.

Cake - 5.30? Poor you - as you say, better than 4.30 but not much. Drama sorry for misremembering your ds2 as a Djok fan! I thought we'd had convos over the years about him and I being the only two to like Djok - my age is clearly catching up with me! I think it's funny you took a pic of your dishwasher - I'm well impressed you had one that lasted 18 years.

Thank you all for thinking of me today Flowers. Machine has gone :(. Another bit of Mark erased. I don't know what time they came as I've been out until 5ish. I glanced in the unit very briefly to check it had indeed gone but no more than a quick glance. Feels like another step away from him and I'm sad, very sad :(

I'm sorry you are feeling sad Juan, have a hug x

daisychain01 · 08/06/2017 18:34

(((Big hugs))) Juan, its such a symbolic change for you. Words are not enough xx

Somerville · 08/06/2017 18:56

Hugs from me too. xx

Willow2017 · 08/06/2017 19:15

Sorry it's a sad time for you Juan . ((Hugs))

JuanPotatoTwo · 08/06/2017 20:07

Thank you all, hugs much appreciated.

Been thinking of you and the children all day (do that anyway). I'm sorry you're feeling so sad. Around over the weekend or next week if you need a shoulder or just some distraction barrel of laughs this house!

How are the roses looking? They must be well watered after this soggy week!

JaneJeffer · 08/06/2017 22:33

Drama I'm not stressing about the exams too much. I know he will do his best. I'll save that for when we have to pay for college Grin I'm really impressed with your dishwasher. I've been through at least three in that length of time.

Willow that's awful. I had problems with an old account that was supposed to be closed but was running up charges. They eventually sorted it out for me. Hope you get your refund soon.

Cake hope you manage to get some quality sleep.

Juan sorry you're having such a sad day.

The weather has been atrocious here and the forecast doesn't look much better for the weekend. DS2 had a lovely school outing to see a play and really enjoyed it.

DramaAlpaca · 08/06/2017 22:49

Another from me Juan.

About DS2 & the liking Djok thing, actually I'm sure you're not misremembering our tennis chats. I reckon he probably did like him at one point, either that or told me he did just to annoy me because he knows I don't Grin

Jane glad you're not too stressed!

That dishwasher was great, it really was, even towards the end when we had to coax it to finish the cycle by manually moving the dial round! My latest one is the same make, but nothing like as good.

Willow what a pain about the bank, so annoying.

Well, plumbing issues here too. The electric shower has finally packed up. Not surprising I suppose, it's used three or four times a day on average. Now we'll have higher electricity bills because we'll have to use the shower that runs off the immersion heater until we get it replaced.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 09/06/2017 06:32

Morning all.

Afraid I didn't sleep too well as DD told me at bedtime that the girl who caused her no end of issues in year 3 has been hitting her at lunch times/play times. I am fuming! She was too scared to tell me Sad

bookbook · 09/06/2017 07:53

Morning all
I'm too old for these late nights !
Juan - I hope you managed some sleep last night - yesterday must have been a very emotional one , ((hugs)) I know you will try to see that positive - it will be helping someone else ,but it must have been a wrench nevertheless
Willow - it just seems to go from bad to worse - they need a kick up the backside .
Cake - :( - its so awful , hoping you can get that sorted , we always take it badly for our DC x
Today is pottering, watching some tennis hopefully , and tidying up the frankly messy kitchen - it looks like a bomb has hit it ( we just came home, had a hot drink , dumped the bags and cool box and went to bed..)

DramaAlpaca · 09/06/2017 10:00

Morning all! I'm surprisingly bright & breezy for someone who stayed up until 2am.

Cake your poor DD. Hope she's OK & it's good that she's finally told you. I had similar once with DS2, it took him ages to tell me what was going on because he was scared about how the teacher would deal with it when I told her Sad

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 09/06/2017 10:05

I'm awaiting a phone call from her class teacher, so just hiding on MN and Pinterest looking at cakes to pretend the real world isn't happening.

I feel for the bully too because she's had a really rough start to life, but it doesn't excuse any of the behaviour towards DD. I think DD only told me because yesterday she got shoved and shoved back, but I think that in itself is a miracle because she says it's been going on since before Easter - no wonder she's been so miserable at school!

Thinking of you all, back off to look at cakes and find the singular thread on MN that won't be about politics...

Willow2017 · 09/06/2017 11:01

Morning all.

Cake thats so sad for your DD. Been there done that and took a lot of calls and meetings to get it sorted out, hope your school is quicker at putting a stop to it than ours were.
I am heartily sick of all the politics too, there isnt one to better the other imho, they all have flaws in their manifestos. WIsh a new party would come along without all the BS and just want the best for everyone in the country and for the country as a whole, not the select few at the expense of the others. I would vote for the 'Adam HIlls Party' in a heartbeat Smile Wishfull thinking eh?

FINALLY got my money refunded today. Nothing to say what happened though I presume they confirmed it was some chancer but would be nice to know. Now I need to get on to the credit card lot as havent heard back from them yet.

Ran away and got a couple of things in town and had a coffee and croissant and read my book and just let the world go by me for a while. Went to boots to see if DS2's photos from his residential trip were in, 5 days and they still arent back! I remember when you could pay extra and get them back in an hour!

Am in worry wort mood as ds2 has grading tomorrow and he is having brain freeze at all the patterns he needs to remember. He needs to know his grading one which is huge, has to pick one of his own and they can ask him to do any other of the past ones! He has a memory like a hen (like me) and I am scared that after all his hard work he will go 'blank' tomorrow. Its not the end of the world but it would be such a shame for him so can everyone keep their fingers crossed for him please? He isnt competetative in the slightest, he just enjoys going and doing it every week but teacher says he is more than ready to go up a grade. Got to be up at stupid o clock to be in Edinburgh for 8.30!

Finally stopped raining yesterday pm and sun shining today fingers crossed it stays that way.
