Oh, Happy belated birthday Willow x Sorry it was rubbish and glad you've had a better day.

My ds2 is also skinny, and as he has loads of ds1 hand-me-downs sometimes he looks ridiculous.
ds1 is not fat but he is a much bigger build - nowadays he is just muscle, I have no idea where this tall, fit 14yo came from - he outgrew me 2 summers ago and his dad the year before that. John was 6f2 and I doubt ds1 would have reached that - but now he's the tallest in his family, as my mum and dad have shrunk in very recent years.

Hope you can get something moving via the GP Selena and that your few days away goes well.

Hope you are having a better day Juan, I've done nothing today - but I haven't spent the day crying so that's better than last night. Actually I have sorted some more paperwork.

DramaAlpaca · 23/04/2017 18:54

Hello ladies, hope you are all having a good Sunday, or at least as good as it can be. I'm not going to be kind in case I make anyone cry, so I'll just be chatty Smile

Happy belated birthday Willow Flowers Cake Wine Gin

All my boys hit their most difficult adolescent times at around 14-15. They'd improved massively by 17, when they all finally decided they could bear to be seen with me in public again. Now they are older they are all lovely.

I'm like Willow, I'm a stubborn old thing who refuses to take any nonsense from stroppy teenagers. It passes, eventually! They are all tall, and I had two skinny ones (they still are) and it was so difficult to find clothes for them when they were growing so fast.

Right, I'm off to walk a couple of silly dogs, then back for dinner later.

Willow2017 · 23/04/2017 19:48

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I am old enough now to not really bother with them I don't expect much at my ancient age 😀 its just been a weird weekend. Have job offer as i need more £ coming in but am worrying it will be too physical for my dodgy neck and if I have to give it up would it stop my jsa even though still working a few hours with other job. Need to let them know tomorrow. Might ask at jobcenter first. Why isn't life simple? But next to you ladies I feel a bit of a wimp.

My ds2 just turned 12 and his swim shorts are 8-9yr old's but he is too tall for younger age trousers 😀

Omg I have 2 more years of argumentative ds? We have had some awful ones so far. Pass the wine😀

magimedi · 23/04/2017 19:50

Mine hit the horrible phase at 21!

Had to do a rescue flight to Australia - huge mental health problems, all bought about by weed.

Juan - I hope you are going to take another sleeping tab tonight & I hope you get even more sleep.

Thinking of you so very often...........

(((xxx)))

DramaAlpaca · 23/04/2017 20:14

Back from walking the dogs.

Took them to a local woodland & the bluebells are out Smile

Evening!
Hope you have had a good day - I know Sundays/Mondays are not nice for you.
I have dug, weeded, and scraped moss on the grass .And finished a baby blanket for charity .
Drama - my bluebells are not out ( absolute thuggy things that try to take over my garden)
Thoughts and Prayers xx

DramaAlpaca · 23/04/2017 20:43

The bluebells are early here book, we are in the west of Ireland where the climate is very mild, and we had an early spring this year. We had daffodils at the beginning of February! I like bluebells growing wild like the ones in my photo, they take over the woodlands completely and there'll be a carpet of blue in another week or two.

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/04/2017 20:50

Evening everyone. Happy birthday for yesterday Willow. Sorry it wasn't a good one. I didn't make my bluebell walk today - combination of headaches and sadness. Drama that's a lovely pic - it looks very pretty round your way!

Eight weeks tomorrow since Mark died. Hate seeing his name allied with words like died/dead/deceased. Still can't believe it :(. Here's Bertie looking guilty yesterday - made me smile.

He is so cute and definitely looks guilty of something 😀

Hope your headache goes away and stays away Juan. Stress plays all sorts of tricks on your body. Hope the sleeping pill works tonight and you get even longer sleep.

Blue bell wood looks fab. Stupid phone won't let me put blue & bell one word !

bookbook · 23/04/2017 21:07

The headaches could be the sleeping tablets - check the destructions ( as my DD used to say when little) - they may be a side effect .
Bertie is a cute one , no doubt about it xx

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 23/04/2017 21:18

Sending you a hug for this evening and tomorrow morning. Won't have time to check in till later tomorrow.

Chasingsquirrels · 23/04/2017 21:37

My ds2 (11) was wearing a pair of 4-5 swimshorts when we were away at Easter! To be fair, they were part of a rashy-type top & shorts set I'd got for them when they were younger - aged 4-5 for ds1 and 18m-2 for ds2. The tops were perfect but the shorts were just wrong and ds1 was in the 18m-2 ones for a couple of years. So obviously mis-sized but it makes me laugh to see the label now when he wears them now.

Bertie is very appealing, if I planned to to at home I'd be seriously considering a dog.

Juan hugs for the headaches, hope you have a better night.

SelenaValentina · 23/04/2017 21:56

Keep yourself well hydrated (often a reason for headaches in our family) and hope you can sleep well, Juan and everyone else too.

A very much missed neighbour gave us a bluebell cutting - now taken over the front garden of course - but I find them cheering (and they kindly cover the weeds I can't be bothered to attack yet).

Bertie is so cute.

daisychain01 · 23/04/2017 21:57

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!
[for Bertie, he is seriously gorgeous 🐶 🐾 ]
Hoping you both have restful nights tonight juan and squirrels

Hey peeps, we had the most amazing sunset here this evening, it was a bit like apricot sorbet in the sky. They said the weather for the next 2-3 weeks will go back to wintry conditions and night frosts. Wasn't sure if it was a late April fools joke but it was lovely today so I made the most of the dry to plant some gladioli and dahlia.

Sleep tight, all xx

DramaAlpaca · 23/04/2017 22:00

Awww Bertie, just look at that little face, and those paws! Such a little cutie, I just want to scoop him up & give him a cuddle.

bookbook · 23/04/2017 22:03

it is going to be cold - here it is forecast -2º tomorrow night, and -4º on Tuesday night. I have fleeced over my asparagus beds... And yes, it has been glorious today

UnbornMortificado · 23/04/2017 22:04

Somer I think your a week or two ahead (I'm due 25th sept) but it will be an ELCS so we might have similar dates.

(Somer asked for some pregnancy luck sent over on another thread when I found out, turned out she didn't really need it)

Juan if the headaches continue there is another two medications that are very similar to zopiclone (zolpidem and zaleplon) same type but might be a better fit for you.

bookbook · 23/04/2017 22:58

I am wishing everyone a good nights sleep, or at least a restful one
Thoughts and prayers xx

bookbook · 24/04/2017 08:21

Morning Juan - hope you, and everyone had a good nights rest.
I am sat waiting for tradesman - due about 9 I believe (lets see!) , so will potter around today if you need a hand hold. I know Mondays are rotten for you xxx

daisychain01 · 24/04/2017 14:08

Hello there gentle-folk, I hope all is well.

juan I love this poem, it is sometimes a small ray of sunshine to imagine your Mark in the next room, out in the garden, somewhere close by and that you can keep talking with him rather than associating him with having died (although there is no choice) ....

Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other
That we are still
Call me by my old familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way you always used
Put no difference into your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed
At the little jokes we always enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort
Without the ghost of a shadow in it
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is absolute unbroken continuity
What is death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you for an interval
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost
One brief moment and all will be as it was before
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

UnbornMortificado · 24/04/2017 14:42

Afternoon all,

DD1 (11) has decided it's her turn to be ill, her teacher has rung saying she's been in tears over some pain in her appendicitis scar.
She didn't want me or her gran to know as we would (rightly) take her to the doctors. It's my own fault I'm terrified of hospitals and medical intervention (despite being a HCP of sorts) and I've obviously passed my issues on to her.

Juan hope you've had a good night sleeps and the headaches have subsided.

Chasingsquirrels · 24/04/2017 16:13

Hope your dd gets sorted quickly Unborn gentle hugs to her.

Well I've had quite a good day - and am now sitting with tears rolling down my face having read that DaisyChain Smile. I think this is where having a faith would be a comfort.

Went to see the HR partner and am going back to work in a couple of weeks on a reduced basis initially. Will just have to see how it goes, on both sides.

A friend said she is going to call round on her way home from work later, which is nice as the boys are with their dad on Mondays.
I'm trying to make sure I organise some form of adult company for a period every day. My fall back is that I can always go to my parents about 10 mins drive away.

Thinking of you Juan.

daisychain01 · 24/04/2017 17:42

Squirrels I had April showers gushing out of my eyes when I created that post earlier, now you've read it, I'm leaking everywhere again Grin
I'm pleased you have a plan to return to work. Be very gentle on yourself esp the first day. I underestimated my ability not to be a snivelling wreck and ought to have had the foresight to take a box of Mansized to work. 5 mins past 9 I was a mess. But after that, I perked up especially as everyone was lovely and it got better over time, with a few blips in between.

daisychain01 · 24/04/2017 17:45

I hope your DD is OK Unborn x

UnbornMortificado · 24/04/2017 18:01

Thank you both, just a water infection luckily Blush

My niece aged 1 ended up with sepsis last year it was touch and go and ever since then I get panicked a lot easier then I used too.

Chasing please take your return easy, you've had a rough time (massive understatement but hope you know what I mean) and you need to look after yourself.
