He seems childlike now. I cannot feel lust for a man who pees sitting down. Is that peculiar? Do your other halves do this?

Ah, HappyDaddy but you and I are clearly freakish wimpy new man types who look like Mr Muscle. True knuckle scraping Neanderthal alphamales pee always stand up and make a a sound like an elephant in full flow.

And they probably aren't posting on Mumsnet any time soon either.

PMSL This has got to be a wind up! No way is this serious. I couldn't give a flying f what my DH does in the loo! Sit. Stand. Cartwheel. handstand... who could possibly care?! Nope, this isn't a serious problem.

Gee72 (same birth year as me, good man!). Wimp, me? LOL. Personally I have some sense of dignity and hygiene and am sick of cleaning up piss. Sometimes, especially if I'm tired, hungover or pissed I sit down. Also means I can have a dump if I fancy one, or possibly even a tug if I'm feeling like it.

Stand up bloke gets wet shoes, not a good look when trying to impress.

nh101 · 05/03/2007 17:19

My mum makes my dad sit down so he doesn't wee all over the seat and floor! He doesn't seem to mind. I threatened my DH with that as I was sick of getting up in the middle of the night and sitting on a wet toilet seat . He is quite tidy now!

Carmenere · 05/03/2007 17:21

How the hell can a woman make a man sit down to pee??Ffs, I think I would be pretty upset if dp started telling me how to use the toilet. They are not dogs you know, they don't have to be trained to wee in a certain way

HappyDaddy · 05/03/2007 17:25

When standing up, it's quite hard to resist seeing how high you can pee though.

Gee72 · 05/03/2007 17:26

Carmenere: If the zip's already down, a pair of scissors would do the trick.

Carmenere · 05/03/2007 17:27

i would be more worried if i found out he did a poo standing up

gobshite · 05/03/2007 18:12

PMSL at ifonlyhewould!

Gobbledigook · 05/03/2007 18:13

OMG, am PMSL at this thread!

Dh sits down sometimes. At first I'm afraid I did call him a lazy git but I guess when you've just woken up it's much nicer to sit down adn keep your eyes shut!

Doesn't bother me.

LazyLine · 05/03/2007 18:15

Why do you care? If you have gone this long without knowing how he pisses, the chances are that you will never see him do it again.

Listen to HappyDaddy!

Blu · 05/03/2007 18:17

DP sits down to wee when, er, pissed.

A friend told me yesterday that her DP is now sitting down to wee as part of encouraging thier child to use the toilet.

I can understand that if you equate a ridgid set of habits (not earing high heels, paying in restaurants, watching the footie with one hand tucked in your trousers and weeing standing up, for e.g) then to see one of these broken might give you an (unfounded) image of 'less than manly'.

The thing is don't get is MTASP's post "I can't find that attractive". How do you find any image of a man urinating attractive?

Blu · 05/03/2007 18:19

'one set of habits ...as signifying gender.

Sorry for general illiteracy.

Issymum · 05/03/2007 18:20

My DH always sits down to pee. I suspect that's because he's in a wheelchair. Yes, this, the wasted muscle tone and his inability to get up and down stairs is an impediment to lust and it took me a long time to admit that to myself and to him. But we worked at it, we talked about it, we love each other. We got over it.

Issymum · 05/03/2007 18:31

I've just read my post again and realised that it might sound condemnatory. It's not supposed to. What I was trying to say is that there are things around your perception of your DH's virility that can get in the way of lust. All that alpha-male, physical stuff runs surprisingly deep. But, in my experience, you can get over it.

hunkermunker · 05/03/2007 18:44

Freak.

NappiesGalore · 05/03/2007 18:50

hey, dont sit on the fence hunk.... say what you really mean!

nanninurse · 05/03/2007 18:52

My oh sits to pee, he,s allways done this, & i,m glad he does. Other men i've been with have been standers, & not too good with thier aim.

Never given it much thought really, just think some do & some don't , probably a lot more common than we think!

SturdyAngel · 05/03/2007 19:24

Absolutely pmsl reading this.

If your DH sitting down to pee stops you from lusting after him then you're lucky you didn't end up with my DH..... who has just been "galloping" around the kitchen with his bright green long johns pulled up to his nipples singing Robin Hood Robin Hood riding through the glen.......

Believe me, that stops lust dead in its tracks.

hunkermunker · 05/03/2007 19:27

SA, wotta catch!

OP, perhaps you could pee standing up. Bit of role reversal never hurt any relationship. Maybe your DH could wear a french maid outfit to bed?

Spidermama · 05/03/2007 19:29

PMSL SturdyAngel. My DH would be right there alongside yours. He has been known to skip home from school in full view of all the other parents. (He is holding the hand of a skipping dd to be fair, but still.) I love him for that.

You could say that only a man who's truly comfortable with his masculinity can galavant around the kitchen attired thus and singing Robin Hood.
