I absolutely love it when babes who have got a handle on it all come back and update, Spanna.

Day 43. Got nothing else to report except I had an absolutely horrible day yesterday (involving a big argument and a sad situation) and the cup of tea I had when I got home at 9pm was just as relaxing and comforting, if not more so, than the glass of wine I would have had before Lent.

Love to all babes, lurking and posting, drinking and not drinking.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 13/04/2017 20:26

Hi all, sorry you had a bad day yesterday Bibbity hope things get brighter.

Hmm posh do hey ma ? Hope you find the right dress.

Good to see you Spanna you are inspiring🌻

Hope everyone else is OK and has plenty of easter chocolate to hand

Have a good evening!

dementedma · 13/04/2017 20:32

Day 43? Day 100? 2 years?
You guys are amazing. How the fuck do you do it? I've been on this bus since it was an ark and am no further forward. Help me find a posh frock. Probs size 16 but maybe a 14 if generous. Not frilly, not floral, not frou frou. Full length. Will need a wrap as Great Hall in the Castle is Baltic! Love beaded. Have decent norks but big tummy. Ideally dark blue,black,maroon.....And cheap! Go for it....

Ma under £50 is good Grin our gorgeous thistleheaded, norked up Babe Flowers I will have a little gander on tinterweb for you Smile

Lux thank you, seriously if I hadn't boarded Gerald I would never have got to where I am today Smile

Unfortunately, like many of us, I have no 'off' button Sad I've realised over time that I can't drink like normal people (one or two glasses, you're havin' a laugh) I can't moderate, believe me I've tried. I drink to get drunk and that is just the way it is. So it's best I don't do it. I can't have that first drink because I won't be able to get back to where I am now. The benefits of not drinking, there are so many - better complexion, no 'red eye' on a daily basis, no gorilla breathe, so much more patience, I am a better mother, I listen more. Cutting this short now as DD2 needs some help with something......laters

Brokenbutbreathing · 13/04/2017 21:46

Just wanted to check in and wish everyone a Happy Easter.

And thank you spanna for your words.

I have done three AF days this week, which is the most in one week for at least nine months, I think. A small step, but a start. Next week I'll try and do more. This weekend I know I'll be off the bus with lots of different events, but am going to try hard to remember venus's words and be at least mindful of what I am drinking rather than throwing it at my face indiscriminately.

Lovely weekends to all x

dementedma · 13/04/2017 21:58

Well done broken . 3 days AF is excellent

OP posts:
LuxuryWoman2017 · 13/04/2017 22:06

broken good going, 3 days is great. Stay mindful over the weekend Smile

spanna41 · 13/04/2017 22:07

FFS DD2 has just read my last post Sad we've hung up some fairylights and she came back into the kitchen before me and I'd left my laptop open. She announced that she'd read it and said 'it's not very good' I just said she shouldn't read my personal things as I wouldn't read hers. So there we have it. I do know that both my DDs think it's much better that I don't drink. They've noticed the difference in me Smile My DD1 got shitfaced at my party, she had a blast, there we were on the dancefloor Smile

Bibity thank you Smile funnily enough I had a row with someone at work yesterday. Very out of character of me, but I'd had enough about something and I had to say something, which resulted in the row. It was all ok today. Must be the aftermath of that full moon Grin

Right time for bed. Night all x

spanna41 · 13/04/2017 22:14

Broken have a really good weekend - 3 AF Days is excellent, you gave your liver a rest and that can only be a good thing Grin Have fun and if you can (in your head) 'watch the film to the end' You know how yours usually ends Smile Happy Easter Babe Flowers

madein1995 · 13/04/2017 22:53

Hi ma glad the rest is doing you good. Good going on reducing Smile let us know how reflexology goes, I will have a look for posh frocks!
Bibbity well done on day 43 Flowers
Broken woo hoo! Flowers (waves pom poms)
Spanna how old is DD? I wouldn’t say your post is bad, in fact the opposite because you know how much better you are without alcohol and you are in control.
Good day but tiring (about 39 hrs into 50 hr working week). Had a complete arsehole of customer but remained polite somehow (making me pack up his bags and telling me off for doing it wrong and putting it on his mobility scooter and saying ‘I think that’ll fall out’ in a sneery voice, offering no help/words of advice/suggestions, when there was a queue 5 trolleys deep demanding my attention). On the plus side, I served a few of my favourite lovely customers and saw a 23 hour baby (I wanted to eat her up) plus the most darling twin boys in tatty teddy babygro’s. AND – I got an Easter Egg, in recognition for my ‘excellent customer service and going above and beyond by coming in on very short notice and on my day off!’ Manager came over when it was quiet, thought I was in trouble but wasn’t, got the egg and a photo. Made me feel so blimming happy – not just the egg, but that what I do doesn’t go unnoticed, and after arsey customer cheered me right up! Having fruit and yogurt then to bed I think (tired emoticon)

Haggisfish · 14/04/2017 00:27

Can I join your bus please? Realised I have only had one AF day since 1 feb, which is not good. I don't drink vast amounts but between a third and half a bottle of wine a night. Sigh. Got lots of hobbies I could be doing and lovely family and life generally, so not even drinking to fill s gap. I just like it. I worry about the long term effects though. I will try to have at least 1 AF night this weekend-will go for tomorrow. Did manage it the other night but it was bloody hard. Well done everyone on here who has made it!

LuxuryWoman2017 · 14/04/2017 07:35

Welcome aboard Haggis sounds like you drink out of habit more than anything?

If I'm right, habits can be broken although it can be hard I know - just join in and we'll help you along ☺

spanna41 · 14/04/2017 08:39

Margie are you ok lovely? Sending you loads of hugs CakeFlowers

spanna41 · 14/04/2017 08:41

Made my Dd2 is 13 & Dd1 is 18 in a few weeks. How lovely to get acknowledgement from your boss Smile

dementedma · 14/04/2017 08:49

welcome haggis and well done made on the recognition.
DD1 gave blood last night and we were talking about it and that I should do it etc when she said, witheringly " They won't take your blood, it's probably flammable." which made us all laugh, and then later made me feel ashamed as I get the point!
AF today hopefully.
