For those having a go at losing a bit of weight, this is my latest trick. I am aiming to lose 1.6 ounces a day. Yep, that's right ounces. It's nothing, right? A tiny amount. A mere miniscule.

But - here's the clever thing - over ten days that is a pound lost. That's 3lb a month and 30lbs in ten months. By shedding just that teeny, weeny little amount each day, I could be two stone lighter this year.

For those who love a graph, I've plotted my weight loss line and weigh in every morning. As long as I'm under that line, I'm on track. I can still have whatever I want to eat and don't have to do any particular exercises.

My weight does fluctuate from day to day but if it starts creeping up towards the line, I just rein it in a bit. It's really easy and is helping me to be more moderate, rather than the 'all or nothing' I've struggled with in the past.

So, in the first month of this year I have lost the required 3lbs plus an extra pound so am well under my line today and ready to lose the next 3lb this month Smile

Just a quick 'hello!' to all the newbies. This is a fabulous bus and you're hugely welcome Grin. I'll post more later.

MintToBe · 05/02/2017 15:50

Afternnon lovelies. I'm back from a 2 mile run. My knees started hurting (yes THAT one) so I called it a day and am being held hostage by the Pringles. I'm trying hard to low carb but I love potatoes too much. It hurts cutting them down Hmm
I've lit the fires and I'm going to boost the heating, get the bathroom warm and try one of these moisture bomb thingys.

Hi, Have just stumbled upon this thread...it's one I always see title of and wonder what it's about! Couldn't stop reading once I'd started.. My situation is that I'm mum of 3dds, very recently separated which is huge relief to me, and dds are happy with situation too..I always have enjoyed wine, but over last few years there's been an uncomfortable niggle about the amount, frequency and reason I'm drinking...and to be honest I wonder if I can stop! This thread had really focused my mind, I am drinking too much too often and will need to look at how I'm gonna change that..any seats on bus?! Grin

dementedma · 05/02/2017 16:26

Always seats on the bus Hurley
Here's your ticket, buckle in and enjoy the ride.

Welcome new Babes!

Flowerydems · 05/02/2017 17:00

Hey everyone. Hope everyone's having a good chilled day.

Just back from lunch with my friend and even though I had a couple I managed to stop, had such a good time aswell just getting out the house, especially after the disaster that was Friday night. Currently hiding from the rain in the house watching my wee boys being neeps with a cuppa and it's just a good end to a good day.

Trying to make a plan of action for next weekend as dh is out for his head wetting for dd and I won't be able to drink while I have all 3 of them. Well I could if I could stop at 1 but that won't happen

Elba84 · 05/02/2017 18:01

lux 'winding pot holed road' is exactly what this is! I'm currently back tracking fast after January and I need to sort it out.

Have had a few hours broken sleep and am getting ready to head back in to work. A bit hungover, though not terribly. Hate the morning drinking though- just feels so wrong, even though in the past I've justified it as being my night time etc. Tomorrow morning (or night) I will not drink.

sweet and margie great to see you back!

Sorry for brief post, need to drag myself into the shower and out the door. Have a good evening all

SweetLathyrus · 05/02/2017 18:03

Faire that is such a good way to do weight loss - I combined My Fitness Pal with Wii Fit as scales and tracker, and did something similar - it helps you see what the culprits are, and the graph looks great after a few weeks or months!

Welcome Hurley, I will be back, but need to go eat to keep the WW at bay!

dementedma · 05/02/2017 19:12

I need to see progress with weight loss or get disheartened. Was gutted that Dry January didn't even shift a pound. Start low carb bootcamp tomorrow and it better show some results!! An ounce here or there won't cut it for me.

Really good to see new babes here- welcome!

It's a very successful thread because no one judges or has a huge drama if someone has been drinking. It's very much gentle support to keep working at getting dry or staying at the level you're comfy at. Oh and we're fairly unshockable, we've all fucked up drinkwise, several times over in my case.

faire that is a very clever system. : )

I've had quite a nice day. Ds was a pain in the arse with homework but I suspect that applies to pretty much every family in Britain. I'm sorting out paperwork / application crap for ds which is hard but I know what to write and how to do it and fully expect to have to kick arse to get ds the support he needs and deserves.

But it's all ok. No drama, no hangover, just calm.

Sorry no NC either, but that's because I'm crap : )

LuxuryWoman2017 · 05/02/2017 21:07

Evening all,
Big welcome Hurley

Hope you all had a good day, I've been out and had 2 pointless beers, again just left me with a dry mouth.

So we face a new week, I shall try to stay off the carbs, definitely not alcohol Monday -Thursday.
I know just one glass of wine and I'm done for so better to avoid altogether.

I am tired and sneezing, hope it's not a cold brewing. I have adventures to plan ☺

dementedma · 05/02/2017 21:16

Hi lux
I've just done a moisture bomb....And had a whole fucking bottle of wine. Am looking forward to bootcamp tomorrow to make me stop behaving like a tit.

OP posts:
LuxuryWoman2017 · 05/02/2017 21:40

ma you had wine today, a last hurrah before boot camp.

Tomorrow is new and unwritten yet, no need to beat yourself up.
Get yourself to bed, I'll join you in the cheese, nuts and eggs regime from tomorrow.

aliasjoey · 06/02/2017 00:21

lux or anybody - does anyone know about hairdye/ highlights?

Littlebatcalledlucille · 06/02/2017 00:34

Hello, I've got a bag of nicknacks? Can I sit with yous?

I've followed these thread's and never had the balls post.
One drank far to much Friday. Felt like death all day yesterday and was pretty much useless, I've decided I need to slow down.
I'm an idiot.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 06/02/2017 06:49

Are you planning a new look joey?

littlebat welcome, plenty of room for you Smile

guggenheim · 06/02/2017 06:51

Welcome littlebat : ) you don't have to offer nicknacks but any junk food of any variety will be scoffed up on this bus. Yum!
This is a good place to be.

ma would Barrie be of any assistance?

Morning all. 6 am is too fucking early to be up every day. Would love a lie in till 7. Sigh.

DavetheCat2001 · 06/02/2017 07:34

Morning morning.

Monday is my new Saturday..kids off to childminder/school in half an hour and in-laws going home...yippeee!

I like my IL's, but we only live in a 3 bed maisonette so after a couple of days of them here, I start to get a bit cabin-feverish. FiL also has a high-functioning drink problem, so there's way too much booze brought into the house when he arrives, and it's very hard to abstain when he's cracking open his various craft beers and bottles of red wine.

So Mondays are my 'doing' days, and got a list as long as my arm to get done today.

Hope everyone has a decent Monday x

spanna41 · 06/02/2017 07:48

Good Morning Brave Babes Smile

If it wasn't for this bus I would not be AF - love to you all.
Back later on, have a good day.
Welcome to all of our new passengers Grin
Just taken this photo - it's a fresh morning down sarf.
Bye for now x

theansweris42 · 06/02/2017 07:50

Morning all just checking in.
Hope you are all okay and have a good Monday Brew

SweetLathyrus · 06/02/2017 08:07

Morning all.

Little, are they nice 'n' spicy?

Ma, you can do it. New week, new start.

Joey, I haven't seen my natural colour in years, what d'you want to know?

aliasjoey · 06/02/2017 08:57

Morning babes old and new 🌝

I have a hair appointment on Wednesday. I haven't been for years- hate going to the hairdressers.

But my hair seems to be thinning (age, hormones?) and I thought it needed some professional help. The stylist said that highlights would make it look thicker?

I'm very nervous, haven't had my coloured since an unfortunate henna episode when I was a student.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 06/02/2017 09:12

Joey Good highlights will certainly lend texture to your hair which will make it appear fuller.
I also hate going to the hairdresser, I hate having to look at myself in the mirror for an hour or so.

Yes, age and hormones can thin your hair, have you tried fuller body shampoos? These and thickening products can have a temporary swelling effect. A good cut will also give body. can't wait to hear how it goes!

theansweris42 · 06/02/2017 09:34

Oh lux that's the same reason I hate going! Everyone in RL thinks I'm being weird! Ha.
