Couple swapping

user1484939839 · 20/01/2017 19:23

Hello

New name, you know....

I am on here a lot but not this topic.

Anyway....

Advice please....

Happily married - typical 2 kids mid 30s etc etc

Friends have suggested quite openly that we swap. We are due to stay at thiers tomorrow night, they live about 100 miles away.

We have a relaxed, chatty, friendly relationship with them. Been on holiday as couples. Not that long standing. No deep and meaningful discussions.

The haven't swapped before and neither have we. My husband and I had vaguely thought about it before kids with another couple but it never happened. This couple just sort of suggested we all try the last time we met up which was for dinner rather than staying over. Holiday means that boobs, bums, wobbly bits, and so on have already been exposed.

I have to admit, I fancy the idea, hubby too, and I texted just now to say ummmmm ok.

Thoughts?

Bad idea?

SH

I think it was Grandma? 👵

CaraAspen · 23/01/2017 21:58

Eh?

MumtoBelle · 23/01/2017 22:02

I think it's disgusting that people do this. Are you bored?. Why don't you and your partner find a new hobby?

FuckOffDailyMailQuitQuotingMN · 23/01/2017 22:02

To answer oldfashioned
👵- I think it was Grandma who looked after the children while the adults were engaging in the exchange of carnal knowledge.

CaraAspen · 23/01/2017 22:13

Ahhhhh.

Sparklingbrook · 23/01/2017 22:15

I expect Grandma knew all about it too.

FuckOffDailyMailQuitQuotingMN · 23/01/2017 22:18

Now let's not bring Grandma into this. She was an unwitting participant in this suburban drama.

I never understood what the Dukes of Hazard had to do with it though.

SarcasmMode · 23/01/2017 22:20

I expect Grandma was disssappointed she didn't get to join in.

Oldfashionedmum1 · 23/01/2017 22:48

If your children ever find out they will despise you.

Ginkypig · 23/01/2017 23:47

I'm really surprised at some of the very nasty comments on this thread.

Of course some a lot of people wouldn't want to do it or think it was ok but that's your opinion it doesn't mean it's ok to insult and berate somone who does feel it's ok within the confines of their marriage.

as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult and no one is being taken advantage of then what's the problem even if it's not something you would want to do yourself.

Shockers · 24/01/2017 05:43

Oldfashionedmum1, was it supposed to be a serious question?Confused

Cara, why are you quoting everyone? To answer your (inane) question, I think once the word "tart" was used, the poor grammar paled into insignificance.

WellErrr · 24/01/2017 06:02

Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children??

Oldfashionedmum1 · 24/01/2017 07:45

Dear Cara , the apostrophe was deliberately placed to indicate third person singular. Subtlety clearly not one of your many strengths.
If you sleep with other partners ,male or female , while your children are sleeping at home then you're worse than a tart . Many unfortunate women are forced into prostitution to care for their children. This sort of behaviour is indicative of the self - indulgence of middle-class tarts. Darwin Shaw etc felt strongly that biological parents rarely made the best parents. I can see their point but then again I'm an old-fashioned lady. Off you go .... Bye

WellErrr · 24/01/2017 08:21

I can see their point but then again I'm an old-fashioned lady

That's no excuse. I know looooads of 'old fashioned ladies' and they're not judgemental bags.

It's not what I'd do, granted - but I still can't see how it affects the children?

WellErrr · 24/01/2017 08:22

Incidentally, what do you think of the male parents involved?
Or is it just the women you're judging as 'tarts' and unfit parents?

glassspider · 24/01/2017 08:25

If this is a real life situation and not some sort of research for a Daily Mail article ...

I completely agree with Shockers. If all four of the people involved are happy, healthy, safe and nobody is getting hurt, what's the issue and why are people taking it upon themselves to call them tarts, disgusting, etc etc? FFS.

CaraAspen · 24/01/2017 10:39

"Oldfashionedmum1

You are wrong. Mumsnet does not carry an apostrophe therefore your parallel term should not have either. You ought to have written Tartsnet.
Clearer?

Happybunny19 · 24/01/2017 10:52

Oldfashionedmum1 your comments are nasty and judgemental. This may not be your idea of a good time but if you don't like the subject matter move onto another thread. The kids are not present and there's absolutely no suggestion they will be affected in any way.

Bicnm1 · 15/01/2018 02:03

Omg sooo many self righteous people in here!
27 yrs as a couple... have a phenomenal relationship with a couple we met by pure chance.
Neither of us swingers, it just happened.
boundaries were set ,full intercourse is a no no ,
Fingers thumbs tongues and toys

Watching my wife entwined with another woman, it was a beautiful
. An image I’ll take to may grave, I’d witnessed a rebirth of my wife
This experience lit up our relationship
Both the girls were in seventh heaven and 2/years down the road we have a beautiful blossoming friendship.

Life can be dull, nothing wrong with pouring something on the fire to make it burn more fiercely

Stop with the nasty , judgemental comments.

BattleCuntGalactica · 15/01/2018 03:53

There's nothing wrong with swinging if everyone involved is secure in themselves and their relationships. However, it's hard to go back once you've done it, so if you're going to do it, make sure you're absolutely 100% okay with it.

Lots of naysayers on the thread, mostly because stuff like this does have the capacity to go horribly wrong. Lots of frank talking with everyone concerned is best.

BattleCuntGalactica · 15/01/2018 03:54

Oops zombie thread. 🤦🏻‍♀️

MrsDilber · 15/01/2018 04:51

I don't know how you have the time and energy.

Beware! This sounds like trouble to me.

Courgettes were a problem last year too, leeks are a real problem this year.

It sounds like you’re always last to the party.
