Couple swapping

Hello

New name, you know....

I am on here a lot but not this topic.

Anyway....

Advice please....

Happily married - typical 2 kids mid 30s etc etc

Friends have suggested quite openly that we swap. We are due to stay at thiers tomorrow night, they live about 100 miles away.

We have a relaxed, chatty, friendly relationship with them. Been on holiday as couples. Not that long standing. No deep and meaningful discussions.

The haven't swapped before and neither have we. My husband and I had vaguely thought about it before kids with another couple but it never happened. This couple just sort of suggested we all try the last time we met up which was for dinner rather than staying over. Holiday means that boobs, bums, wobbly bits, and so on have already been exposed.

I have to admit, I fancy the idea, hubby too, and I texted just now to say ummmmm ok.

Thoughts?

I think it's more weird that you weren't all together. I could sort of understand it being a horny sex fest orgy type thing, but this was just... dunno ... odd.

Don't worry people; I grew courgettes the year before last and it was really easy, and you get loads. We'll be ok. I'm getting my class to plant some too to help me through the shortage.

I'm sorry it comes across as grim why would you engage in sexual activity with your friends dh and him her then swap back regardless if you use a condom?

Why did you bother to get married if you were going to go outside the marriage for sexual gratification? What happens when sex with you isn't enough? What about pregnancies, feelings extra.

I'm pretty sure this happened to my ex's parents were married and (according to ex mil apparently it was an affair and ex's mother was the victim which I don't believe) ended up swapping partners! Guess what happened ex's wife ends up pregnant and so does her friend there's two brothers 9months apart same school year. Her husband ended up with the friend and she married her friends DP.

The separate rooms set up seems like the only way to do it to me. Otherwise you might as well go to one of the swinging clubs that get talked about on here (which get a much better reception than OP has had). If accounts here are correct, then you'd get food provided too. Probably not courgettes though.

Have you heard/expect to hear from the other couple op? Or was it agreed to have a cool down period of nc?
I think there seems to be lots of judgy people here-its not my idea of a good time, but as long as nobody was forced into swapping then its your business. I do worry that it'll have a long term effect though-its bound to mess with your head at some point.

Lots of couples split up without ever having engaged in wife swapping, or swinging, or whatever so I'm not that convinced that consensual sex outside of a marriage will inevitably lead to the breakdown of a relationship. Though I gather that if a relationship is not strong, something like this will only make it weaker.

But you know, sometimes sex is just sex... maybe we all get too hung about it.
