Dp paying for porn

Namechange26 · 28/12/2016 22:44

Nc for this. I've found out dp has signed up for a website where you pay money each month to view a girls private blog where she posts porn and naked photos.

I know that he watches porn and I have no issue with this, but something about the idea of him paying for it doesn't sit right with me. We have a fairly active sex life and have no issues with our relationship.

Would you view this the same way as watching regular porn and I'm just overreacting? There is no interaction between them as far as I can tell so it's not like he's talking to other girls behind my back.

Backto Grin
On reflection it just has to be a regular MNetter having a laugh. Surely no man could actually be so dense/silly enough to post such a load of rubbish.

OP I am sorry you are dealing with such a horrible situation.

zsazsagaboredom · 06/01/2017 10:31

As a man of 33, let me explain why this is definitely true.
Literally mansplaining, even announcing that you're doing so. Confused

To take offence at the phrase "chill out girls" and accuse me of 'mansplaining' is puerile and idiotic.

lolwut?
PEACE

Looking at some free porn sites (pornhub, youporn, etc.) there are professional porn stars who have their content on there - so unsure about argument that performers on free porn sites are more likely to be victims of trafficking, etc. Porn stars are both female & male. Some earn millions of dollars a year.

View these sites only if you're open-minded! No copyright laws are being broken as they're promoted as free sites. Only financial issue may be regarding 'country of origin' of website and whether website owners are actively trying to avoid paying tax in a specific country.

I think for many people porn is a harmless way to (e.g.) spend 10 mins in their lunch break, before they turn the lights off in their lounge in the evening, etc. Not always to masturbate to but just to 'take the edge off things' and view attractive people.

Viewing now and again is ok but when it becomes a priority over other stuff is when it needs straightening out.

Cheers.

zsazsagaboredom · 06/01/2017 10:33

Where do you spend your lunch break??

Adora10 · 06/01/2017 10:40

THERE IS NOTHING IMMORAL ABOUT MALE MASTURABTION.

pleasehelp - oh god thanks for enlightening me, I never knew this!

You are the most condescending person I've seen on here in a while; must be very difficult being a man and having to pay to watch porn actresses get you off rather than a real life partner.

Porn is not harmless and women can choose if they stay with a man that pays for it - so you chill out yourself pal and realise that we all have different views on this subject; it's not exactly talking about having a pasta now is it - it's a pretty damaged and corrupt industry no matter how many spins you want to put on it.

InfoFreako · 06/01/2017 10:47

Where do you spend your lunch break??

At home, as that's where I work! but I'm sure many (e.g.) office workers can find a rest room, private space, etc. if so required.

Whether porn is a "...damaged and corrupt industry..." is a subjective opinion and part of a much wider debate. Many industries are corrupt (e.g. sport, finance, fashion).

Cheers.

Adora10 · 06/01/2017 10:54

It's fact actually, but you kid yourself it's all nice and all women involved are loving it.

I don't think any man in my office has the need to relieve himself with porn in his lunch break, pretty sure they are over the age of 18 and can control themselves; not all men are sex crazed animals that need to view porn on a daily basis.

NC1nightstand · 06/01/2017 10:54

Erm Info have you actually read the whole thread? The reasons people view porn and pornography itself are not entirely what we are talking about here.
The issues are the fact that the OP's dp has lied to her face until confronted with the evidence and the fact that paying to subscribe to a site as opposed to viewing free content has changed the way the op feels about her partner using porn. Totally understandable in my opinion.
I find what you've written a bit odd to be honest.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 06/01/2017 11:07

Many office workers can find a rest room to watch porn during their lunch break?

You what?

Namechange26 · 06/01/2017 11:10

Thanks please Ill just chill out and get over it Grin

Who watches porn on their lunch break? Shock

OP posts:
birdybirdywoofwoof · 06/01/2017 11:20

Many office workers do, apparently.

They have 'private spaces' set aside for such purposes 'if so required'

InfoFreako · 06/01/2017 11:30

Who knows how many people watch porn in their lunch break (or any other time of the day)? They're not going to announce it!

I read that approx. 50% of all websites are sex-related. They can't all be watched by the sad, plain-looking over-40 singleton who doesn't have a 'normal' relationship - or maybe they are! Who knows?!

I think most folk who watch such websites aren't going to announce it to all and sundry - it will remain private.

Going back to the OP post, some folk may pay to view porn sites as they especially like the performer. Same concept as to why would someone join the (e.g.) Robbie Williams fan club when all his music can be listened to for free on-line.

Cheers.

Adora10 · 06/01/2017 11:35

Many industries are corrupt (e.g. sport, finance, fashion).

Such a stupid, stupid analogy.

If my daughter told me she was taking up a job in any of the above I'd be fine, if she told me she had taken up a job as a porn actress, I'd have something completely different to say.

Adora10 · 06/01/2017 11:36

Absolute BS.

InfoFreako · 06/01/2017 11:47

You're taking my post out of context. I was responding - nothing more and nothing less - to the earlier post about porn being a corrupt industry - no denying that sport, finance and fashion have had corruption scandals in recent years (e.g. FIFA).

What would you say if hypothetically your son wanted to be a porn star?

Cheers.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 06/01/2017 11:48

You said I'm sure many office workers can find a private place if so required for their 10 mins harmless fun.

Now you are saying you have no idea how many people do.

Which is it? You are sure 'many' office workers are all watching porn at lunchtime in their private spaces 'if so required', or you have no idea?

Adora10 · 06/01/2017 11:55

What would you say if hypothetically your son wanted to be a porn star?

Well that would be fine cos he's a sex crazed porn user isn't he...?

InfoFreako · 06/01/2017 11:57

You said I'm sure many office workers can find a private place if so required for their 10 mins harmless fun. No I didn't. Please re-read my post! You're confusing different postings.

Bottom line is I'm sure there are many many people who look at porn in there lunch break (wherever that lunch break may be). Of course, I don't know how many people but I'm sure it's more than a handful. But who cares? What I do in my lunch time is my own business, just as what you do is yours.

Cheers.

InfoFreako · 06/01/2017 12:00

You should know your son well enough to judge that. I guess when he's offering to buy you a new home, car, etc. with his earnings you'd reject them.

Cheers.

NC1nightstand · 06/01/2017 12:00

I think a lot of people watch porn on their lunch break. Twice I have been on a crowded bus during rush hour and realised that the man sat next me was viewing porn on his phone! Obviously technology has changed the way pornography is viewed. What concerns me is that if you are able to watch porn on a bus, at work or wherever without becoming so aroused that you need to masturbate then surely that means you are pretty much desensitized to it. So the the type of porn you use becomes more extreme and more extreme again. Then real life sex doesn't do it for you and your partner is devastated by this and your relationship breaks down. That is obviously a very simplistic version of events that could occur but I would be wary that anyone who has to use porn at lunchtime is heading for a sex addiction.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 06/01/2017 12:02

It's clearly very important to you to get this idea across that watching porn during your lunch break even while in the office 'if so required' is what many people do.

Nice way to normalise your habit, fella, well done you.

InfoFreako · 06/01/2017 12:09

Nice way to normalise your habit, fella, well done you. By writing 'fella', you're implying I'm a man. I've never stated this (but apologies if you apply this title to both women & men - I know a lesbian from London who does the same).

NC1nightstand - I agree that porn can desensitise some people to what typical relationships are. I think it's important can separate 'real life' from 'fantasy' as otherwise that's when problems can start.

Cheers.

Adora10 · 06/01/2017 12:13

Please do not judge me by your own personal standards. I said daughter because I have one, if I had a son, the same view would apply.

As for men and women watching porn during their working day - what exactly is your point, that they can't wait until they get home???? If you think that's the norm then I'm glad I don't work at your place.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 06/01/2017 12:14

I did think you were a man! Blush

But i haven't confused your postings. You said I'm sure many office workers can find a private room if so required. You said i think for many people porn is a harmless way to spend their lunch break.

What am I not getting here?
