Can pictures just appear

Hi, I know this will sound stupid but myself and DP run a buisness together earlier his mobile rang so I rushed to answer it. I missed the call but I know this is wrong I checked his phone he's always so secretive with it. I didn't find much but there was 3 pictures of his naked torso with 'goddess' wrote on it. I confronted him straight away he said "I think they're from ages ago, before we met, they must have just appeared" the date on the photos is from Friday. Can photos just appear in the wrong order? I realise how daft I sound.....

I don't think he'd know how to hide apps, he's a technophobe. He's swearing on his life he hasn't done anything it's just pissing me off even more

Hedgehog I think your ex may have had other motives than "boredom". I had an ex who took photos of himself to wank over. He never wanted to shag me. He was either gay or only fancied himself. It was very weird. I reckon that could be it. I didn't realize this was a common thing!

why would he tell you the truth? That's what he's thinking especially when he can get away with it as you aren't tech savvy. Definitely up to no good.

At first when I saw the first photo I thought maybe one of his friends had sent it through whatsapp like a joke they'd done to another friend when drunk. The 4th photo was of a iPad screen with the pen in front so obviously not. I saw his other whatsapp messages there was only 3 and I knew them all.

Anyway back to the post, OP as others have said it can appear again but only if he's edited it, resized it etc.

Not that I'm defending him or anything but are you sure it isn't just "a laugh with the guys" it's a bit of a strange thing to put on a photo to send to a girl?

However if your convinced otherwise and genuinely don't trust him now maybe would be best to end it

Well, how long have you been together? I've had photos appear on my phone a day after they were sent, an odd glitch with Nokias I think, but if you've been together for months or years then it's extremely unlikely!

If it was a joke why wouldn't he say?
Been together 2 and half years so he reckons the photo was taken before that then just appeared from nowhere

Did he get a new phone recently? Or transfer his pics on to a memory card? All my photos are jumbled up, also re-downloaded every photo shared on my messenger. Was quite shocking lol

And why did he say (lie) he took them? I don't buy the hazy "it's something I might have done" - I think you'd be fairly clear on why you wrote "goddess" on your torso Hmm

He's now admitted he did chat to a dominatrix before me who he sent the pics to but he's adamant it was over 2 years ago

Well, to be honest I have a Samsung and it IS possible for photos to "just appear" but not in the camera roll and not of himself and not out of date order... not without some kind of app or activity on his behalf.

In my case something weird happened with a chat app I use with my family and I've got some random photos in that apps photo folder that I've never seen before (not of me though, just random people and places). I still don't know how they appeared and it's a little concerning (privacy for whoever has those photos and wherever mine have ended up!)

Are you able to check phone records to see if he's texted anyone that day (and then deleted it)? What folder were the photos in? An apps folder or the camera roll or FB or what?

Random photos appear on my phone, a Samsung, sometimes from months ago (I've had the phone since January).

I'm sorry but it just doesn't seem happen like that on a Samsung, at least on mine. I did a quick google and apparently it's happened to people with iPhone due to the cloud sync but I can't find anything about old personal photos showing up on an Android device.

I just ran a test (Samsung Note 3) and it IS possible to move a photo from an existing folder to the camera roll but it moved in date order so the photo I just moved is way back in the list.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he installed an app, or signed into an account and it synced photos... the date issue though... that's metadata and he'd have to have actually changed that (and it's possible: www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/explainer/2006/04/are_the_duke_lacrosse_photos_legit.html) his innocent act just wouldn't fly.

Another thing is no-one looks exactly the same 2 years ago to how they looked last week, so does he have a telling tan line, or shirt, or pimple or something?

Thanks sykadelic, I've looked too and couldn't find a reason why they'd appear. I think what you say nails the fact he's lying. The pictures mainly of the writing there isn't any markings you can't actually see that much skin. He has pretty much admitted its him it's just the when it was taken issue.

Good point Sykadelic - also what about the background of the photo, where is he? Surely the room doesn't look exactly the same now as 2 years ago.
