Shall I report my neighbours?

Didn't know where to put this.

No previous problems with them. They are having a party and smoking cannabis.

They might know it's me, and I don't want repercussions. Am I being petty?

Re. hot knives.
Harking back to my younger years, there was a hanger on bloke in our circle, who nobody liked much, sharking on the females in the group when we were off our tits, that kind of thing.

So he got a piece of dog poo between his hot knives, assuming it was pot. He rushed out the front door and was sick copiously. Didn't see much of him after that...

bit of a drive then as Nijmegen will be the nearest place you city dwellers will have heard of

The reason it's not a separate crime to smoke it is because if you're smoking it then you're in possession of it so caught under that law.

While first timers are often given a caution, people are regularly prosecuted for possession.

You can vape weed, my mate has a big home vaporiser. You can get personal ones like vape pens (or disguised as inhalers) sold as herbal or tobacco vaporisers. Another friend has one for when he goes to festivals and stuff.
I'd sooner be around stoned people than drunk people. I've never been assaulted or harassed by someone who was stoned.

Just go and have a nice big bottle of wine OP. That's the go-to drug for Mums. The state-sanctioned one that does no harm whatsoever.

I work with vulnerable young people and those of you trivialising cannabis use are sadly unaware of the human cost this drug has. Any illegal substance has horrible costs in the supplying/distribution process. No the police will not have time to respond OP but it is okay to be upset by this.

thedog I don't drink. Probably get told to get a life for that too.

There's nothing wrong with being annoyed at that stench.
I agree with Hack
Stoned and stinking in the streets.

I'm sick of people trying to normalise this shit.
I have neighbours too, that shit wafts into my garden/home.

Well can you stay inside with the windows closed so I don't have to smell it too.

Report
KittyKrap · 05/06/2016 11:05

The stench gets to me too, only because I threw a whitey 19 years ago, bleurgh, brings it all back.

Op, never go on holiday to Holland.

Threw a whitey?

Whitey is when you just turn very pale, throw up and feel like you have had ten pints the day before.

I have the occasional one at Schipol when I try and consume anything I've bought legally in Netherlands before I head back to the UK.

One thing I've noticed.
In the Netherlands and places where it is legal the cannabis you smell people smoking is rarely skunk.
Whenever I notice it in the UK almost always skunk.

Or worse, spice.

Can't we all just get abong?

Yes, with the window shut in our own homes.

Funniest thread ... thanks all

OP - I feel sorry for you. Harmless neighbours smoke a doobie ... trust me when I say, the police would probably never come out to that 101 call so 100% no point in wasting their time

Was you high on the secondary fumes when you posted this though, would make more sense Wink

who lives in Gloucestershire ?

www.gloucestercitizen.co.uk/Cannabis-priority-police-says-commissioner-Martin/story-29355531-detail/story.html#ixzz4AhD1fSnw

Gloucestershire's police and crime commissioner, Martin Surl, gives his view on how officers should enforce the law regarding cannabis use.

Recent articles on the use of cannabis seem not only to have re-opened the debate on the use of class B drugs, but also raised questions about what should be priorities for the police and how they should interpret the law.

It is not my place to comment on the five forces who have decided not to arrest people using marijuana for their own personal use as that is a matter for them. The primary role of the police is to keep people safe and after that they enforce the law.

(contd)

I'd say live and let live. If there is an on going issue with noise or harassment I would report them.
