Toad's Solicitor phoned me at home unannounced after hours this evening

I thought this would call for a new thread.

As I was preparing the children's dinner, the phone rang and guess who it was? Toad's solicitor, to have a chat about contact.

I am a friendly and polite person, also was in shock, so I complied and explained to him the children's views on their father.

DS thought I was 'cool'. Confused.

You never know what will happen at the moment.

In case it is part of the 'bundle', Phase?

WellWhoKnew · 04/12/2014 21:56

Thanks CCV for pointing out posters on the 'tinterweb lie? I had no idea.

Only, what happens if it is found they are telling the truth?

Do CCVs get CCJ'ed?

That's county court judged? Please, do tell. We're merely clueless women. We must be told these things, no?

SolidGoldBrass · 04/12/2014 22:11

Don't worry Karen, it will just be some other inadequate, spiteful failure of a man blaming everything on 'feminazis' or whatever.

mineofuselessinformation · 04/12/2014 22:42

Hmmm, didn't see the deleted posts. (Suspect you did though, Karen.)
Just keep venting here --and entertaining us with the latest twattishness.
KOKO, as is well-used on another thread. Smile

Karenthetoadslayer · 04/12/2014 23:05

I only saw some of these posts, they got deleted really fast. Just 'random' abuse. I suspect they got attracted, because the CMS was mentioned. Fathers for Justice etc. Oh this will attract some more now. Blush

Anyway, fast forward to tomorrow: Job centre first thing. Great.

I've just been awarded £29 per week CM - he's a barrister in London but as they're self employed it's amazing how little he earns some years!!! Fortunately for me it's far more about the principle than needing every £ to survive as we've been able to massively reduce our mortgage, have a husband etc.

BlackeyedSusan · 04/12/2014 23:21

ignore the toddler behaviour.

dunfightin · 04/12/2014 23:53

Been a busy day, it seems. Like the idea of you having an email-free long weekend or whole advent season. Can you award yourself a chocolate for every day you don't log on?
I used to stuff a fiver in a drawer for every day I didn't engage. Bought myself a lovely coat a couple of years ago Wink

Jux · 05/12/2014 00:19

Oh I missed the little troll person Sad. Never mind, eh.

Who had soup for supper then? We had chicken noodle salad, cooked by dh, but sadly uneaten by me as I'd had lunch with a group of people and was still full (actually I think it was indigestion Grin).

I do quite fancy Heinz tomato soup, crusty well-buttered bread and some cheese triangles. Off to investigate the kitchen.

WellWhoKnew · 05/12/2014 01:18

Only caught the tail end of him Jux. 'Twas slimy.

Gather MN have squished him though.

Shame they can't do that in real life. We'd be fighting amongst ourselves as to whose gets got first!

brianbennettfan · 05/12/2014 09:02

Morning Karen and all

Actually your visitor last night was being unpleasant on at least one thread in Relationships too, so don't take it personally. Obviously a sufferer of SDS (short dick syndrome).

KOKO Karen bbf x

MillionToOneChances · 05/12/2014 10:37

Just read through this whole thread. You're doing brilliantly OP. Don't let him rattle you.

Karenthetoadslayer · 05/12/2014 11:04

Angry gosh, Random this is outrageous. £29 per week?

I am now going to receive JSA. Sad

I also have a form here that says the CMS will automatically be contacted in such circumstances. I am going to send a copy to Toad's solicitor later - it's the system, I can't help it

OP posts:
Jux · 05/12/2014 13:14

You don't need to do that, Karen. The solicitor already knows and you already have enough to do.

Karenthetoadslayer · 05/12/2014 13:22

I am a bit shell shocked, but everyone at the job centre was lovely and understanding. They totally sympathised and laughed that Toad berated me for applying for benefits and that the children and I should live on my redundancy money until May of next year.

OP posts:
Karenthetoadslayer · 05/12/2014 13:23

I know - I am even defending myself for applying for CM.

Dear Karen

I have to say I lurk on this thread and you're brilliant!

Please be aware if Toad is a Director or self-employed or anything but a straightforward employee he will get his accountant to wheedle down his income to as little as possible to avoid paying CMS SadSadAngry

When you are looking at places to rent please, please look for somewhere that has very low day to day running costs, council tax, utility bills, fuel to get places etc.

Tmrgl · 06/12/2014 10:46

He will wangle his income down but only so far because it becomes very inconvenient having no income in other ways - mortgage, loan, renting.....
Even if you don't get much off him it'll be a minor irritation grating away at him.

Karenthetoadslayer · 06/12/2014 13:05

His main income as a company director is dividends. So it's 90% dividends, 10% salary. I was told that CMS operate on the basis of his tax return?

OP posts:
Karenthetoadslayer · 06/12/2014 13:06

I'll phone them again.

OP posts:
Karenthetoadslayer · 06/12/2014 15:37

Not to despair. I spoke to the CMS, as he was already gloating about his low assessment and I am going to send in his undersigned Form E1 and financial disclosure to apply for a variation of the assessment. If he doesn't tell the truth, he will go to prison.
