A teenage shop assistant today...

Shouted after me as i walked into a changing room cubicle that "Those clothes had BETTER come out on the clothes hanger" and then kissed her teeth.

Was I unreasonable to leave my clothes on the floor then swan out like a badass and simply saying "ciao".

I know it's sad and petty but I really enjoyed my coffee shortly after.

Cantbelievethisishappening · 19/09/2014 17:54

Good for you though.... can't believe a sales assistant would say that...dreadful attitude.

Tinytillytot · 19/09/2014 17:54

Gosh. That's all a bit scummy.

Are you er... a bit of a scav? Leopard print leggings, crop top and a thong poking through.

treaclesoda · 19/09/2014 17:54

what does 'kissed her teeth' mean? I'm guessing it's not polite or friendly but I've never heard the expression.

Tinytillytot · 19/09/2014 17:55

I mean :(

OP posts:
handfulofcottonbuds · 19/09/2014 17:55

Might have been better in AIBU IMO as I'm not seeing any relationship here Smile

LineRunner · 19/09/2014 17:56

I don't understand.

Tinytillytot · 19/09/2014 17:56

Penises Do you mean "scally" ? A scav generally refers to a scavenger I believe?

Tinytillytot · 19/09/2014 17:57

I'm not exactly sure what effect 'teeth kissing' is meant to have on the person it's done to. Is it meant to be disrespectful or just a weird noise? But the yelling after you like that would make me want to just walk out too, so YANBU

JeanneDeMontbaston · 19/09/2014 17:59

Kissing teeth is tutting.

Tinytillytot · 19/09/2014 18:00

Kissing your teeth is like tutting really loudly.

OP posts:
YoungBritishPissArtist · 19/09/2014 18:01

I've always understood teeth kissing to be very rude. I think you should complain, OP.

PenisesAreNotPink · 19/09/2014 18:01

Actually I think I meant scumbag Grin

Itsfab · 19/09/2014 18:02

Which shop and why did you not just complain instead of being petty?

Humansatnav · 19/09/2014 18:03

Ooop north a scally is a general bad ' un.
Good on you.Smile

MrsWinnibago · 19/09/2014 18:04

Penises your post wasn't very nice....

Tinytillytot · 19/09/2014 18:05

Define "scumbag" penises?

OP posts:
Littlebluebutterflies · 19/09/2014 18:05

The shop assistant was rude but you did rather prove her point for her, so I'm not sure the moral victory is yours really?

JeanneDeMontbaston · 19/09/2014 18:06

Why is this in relationships, btw?

Or are we supposed to conjecture the racial origins of the tooth-kisser and indulge our latent racism, thus making it a race-relationships issue?

DontDrinkAndFacebook · 19/09/2014 18:06

No it's not tutting exactly, it's a sort of sucking/kissing motion where you pull air in against your teeth making a kissy sort of noise but inwards rather than outwards. [technical] Grin

It's also known as sucking your teeth. It's a gesture of annoyance/ irritation/lack of respect that comes from the Caribbean.

I would have dumped to clothes at the feet of the rude stroppy cow and told her I'd take my custom elsewhere, and then I'd be phoning the store's management. Fucking cheek.

Although she sounds like she might have punched me. Grin

TheFillyjonk · 19/09/2014 18:07

Kissing teeth isn't quite the same as tutting. It's a longer sound, used to show disrespect.

Tinytillytot · 19/09/2014 18:07

I know, I'm old and embittered now
