Hello, I'm Mouse :)

Welcome to the thread, or our mythical Bus called Gerald! Grin

There is room for everyone. Always

There is help for everyone who wants it. Always

There is unconditional support and kindness. Always

We have two sentences that we believe in here -

    • The Vulnerable Need Our Support, Not Our Judgement
    • Alcohol Fosters Inertia

No matter what it is that you drink, how much, how often, we've ALL been in your position at one point or another...... so most of us WILL know exactly what it's like to be YOU

If you'd like to read the last thread, it's below -

THIS IS THE PREVIOUS THREAD

And if you want to read a pretty sobering thread and the history behind these many, the reason why we are all here, fighting to stay/get sober is here -

FIRST EVER BRAVE BABES THREAD

Hope to see you soon :)

green welcome back!

Got to get my arse out of this sidecar before I become wedged in here.

littlewhitebag · 10/08/2014 21:18

I could whip up a cake..for a wedding..but i don't think it would ever be a 'wedding cake'. My cakes are delicious but not always aesthetically pleasing.

Also, rhubarb and ginger is very sticky. More sticky than you could ever imagine. My whole kitchen is...tacky. I had a bit of a Quatermass moment where it all crept down the side of my cooker.

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 10/08/2014 21:29

little I would be delighted with one of your cakes! I always wanted my wedding day to be dog and child friendly and as relaxed and as informal as could be.

Delicious fits the bill exactly for my imaginary day! Rhubarb and ginger jam on a scone...sounds heavenly!

venus if you google Skellow, he's about number 3 on images. Grin

littlewhitebag · 10/08/2014 21:39

Okay wry Once a wedding is on the cards i will be on my way with a cake, some rhubarb and ginger jam and my beautiful lab. Heck, i may also rustle up a few scones too!

littlewhitebag · 10/08/2014 21:42

I googled skellow. Why did i do this? My delicate constitution cannot cope with such sights.

spanna41 · 10/08/2014 21:45

Little you could always borrow his towel to clean up the jam on the cooker Grin Grin

Fairenuff · 10/08/2014 21:47

Hey greeney good to hear from you. Sorry that you're feeling rough though x

littlewhitebag · 10/08/2014 21:50

Eew. spanna. What other manner of sticky jam might he have on that towel? Boak.

I am bantering away on here and what i haven't admitted is that i am drinking wine. I am finding it hard to be on holiday and not drink. I know i am drinking less than i was but i am drinking nevertheless.

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 10/08/2014 22:21

little tomorrow is another day lovey, look at the positives in your post. It's less and you've made cake and you're on holiday. xx

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 10/08/2014 22:22

spanna how was your friend and her DP?

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 10/08/2014 22:27

It is heaving down here. I can read Little's mind. Her eyebrows are knitting. If you think I'm going out for a pee in that you are very much mistaken...

littlewhitebag · 10/08/2014 22:38

I just opened the back door and asked my lab to go out for a pee. She tentatively stepped out then gave me a wtf 'look'. Then some water cascaded off the gazebo and she bolted back into her bed. I think she will just cross her legs until morning.

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 10/08/2014 22:42

I am not sure if I've had a drink today or not. I had mushrooms on toast cooked with wine, cream and garlic. If you cook the alcohol off is it still wine?

Genuine question. Or am I deluding myself? I haven't actively had a drink as I'm on early shifts this week and need to be non fuzzy in the mornings. I adore mushrooms on toast but it needs the wine to make it perfect.

I'm on holiday from next Saturday, and will be having a mini bottle of wine on Saturday night. My next big trial after that will be the horse trials. Pimms, Prosecco and Bruadar tents all waving their wares in my face.

Two of my pals are competing, so I'm quite excited now Grin

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 10/08/2014 22:46

little It does make me laugh, she will merrily plunge into the freezing North Sea, into our freezing cold river with gay abandon, she'll even bugger about with the garden sprinkler.

But rain? Nah. She velcros her paws to the back step and refuses to shift.

I just know there will be a 3am whine. I want to go noooooooow.....

spanna41 · 10/08/2014 23:00

Wry my dear friend was fine, she put together a lovely mackerel and yummy salads. We managed to have a good natter and she got a load off her chest, bless her, she's really feeling it. Her partner is fine, my DD2 spent some time watching TV and messing about on his remote control bed Hmm up and down she went. DD2 is finding it all really hard, as they were very close (he's like a Grandad to my girls) and he's very different to how he was before his stroke. She's beginning to understand that he may never be how he used to be Sad But on a positive note they have spoken about getting married and he's up for that Grin She's 50 this year and would like to tie the knot before it may be too late.

Day 7 nearly done Grin If it wasn't for this here bus and all that ride on him, I wouldn't have been able to do this. Many, many thanks Flowers

spanna41 · 10/08/2014 23:09

Wry the horse trials sound very exciting and knowing 2 people competing, even better Grin A suggestion, why not start the day at the trials with a long soft drink, plan before hand what it will be. Once you've had that, decide whether you want something alcoholic, if yes, then once you've downed that, maybe alternate between something long and soft (pardon pun) and alcohol, just a suggestion Smile

It's raining here too but I did get a glimpse of that naughty moon between the clouds earlier, awesome Grin

Baby how are you darling? Just sending you some love and light Flowers

spanna41 · 10/08/2014 23:11

Wry forgot to say 'No' I wouldn't consider the wine with mushrooms drinking Smile

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 10/08/2014 23:52

Glad you and your pal had a good natter, spanna and lovely news that they are getting wed. Something positive and happy for them both to look forward to. Having your DD there will have made their day, I'm sure.

Woohoo on Day 7! What a way to start the week! Your suggestion sounds fab for the horse trials, by the way. I'm hoping to spend my holiday money on quality dog merchandise and some Angela Davidson art, not waste it on Pimms if I can help it. Smile The donut vans will no doubt profit from my sugar cravings...as will the food tent..and the hot dog van. Why do onions never smell/taste like that at home?

spanna41 · 11/08/2014 00:01

are they paintings Wry ? very good, are you going to get a picture of 'Little'?

sounds like you're already thinking through the trials. food is always my answer, the yummier the more distracting the better Grin

You go girl xx

spanna41 · 11/08/2014 00:05

Hope did the monster in IKEA get you? have you survived the ordeal? Hopefully you're tucked up, exhausted from your busy weekend, I think you're off this week? Yay Grin

spanna41 · 11/08/2014 00:17

Can't stop eating Cave Aged Roguefort (from Aldi) on toast - divine and tastes so good, nothing like a good bit of mold Grin

spanna41 · 11/08/2014 00:18

Roquefort, even Confused

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 11/08/2014 01:01

Eek dozed off there...I love a bit of mould too, Grin

Re Angela, I might ask when I see her how much it would be to commision a piece. I have a lovely limited edition of a lab by her, I love it. Also have a couple of her early equine ones. And one early Lydia Kiernan I bought at Blenheim. That was a very happy day. She was painting on her stand, I was transfixed. Just checked her website and her style is a bit different now but still recognisable.

More than anything I would love a Catriona Campbell. One day...

Anyhoo, before I doze off again, wishing each and every one of you a peaceful night's rest, xx
