Please be kind as this has only come out today and I think I'm in shock.
Have posted before about dp that I have been with for a few months. Am smitten with him and we have been very happy.
However my friend googled him and found that he was convicted of having a relationship with a pupil and was dismissed as a teacher.
She was 15 and pursued him according to the judgement and it only got as far as some kissing and cuddling.
I can't believe this and as I have two teenage daughters am in turmoil. He doesn't know I know.
He's been great with my family and as this was few years ago must have been out of trouble since.
I've no idea who knows.
Help!!

Sorry but I think he's a peadophile. She was 15. He was in his 40s!!!! Why would you kiss and cuddle a 15 year old when you're 40? He's a predator.

ZOMBIE THREAD FROM 2014!

What made your friend google him? I've never googled friends' partners. Something must have made her.

Honestly, you can't continue this relationship. The very fact that he had an inappropriate relationship with a child in his care is enough. Doesn't matter if it was recent or ages ago. He thought it was OK. And that is absolutely not OK.

Gross! I thought he may have been in his first year as an NQT which may have been a young mistake but a 40 year old man? Yuk.

I’m sorry op but how can you even consider staying with this man? A forty year old man snogging a 15 year old. It’s utterly utterly nauseating. He was sexually attracted to a child. She won’t be the first or the last. And that’s before we even get to abuse of power.

it’s sickening.

How can you seriously consider staying with him, after he kissed and cuddled with children?! It's gross and sick. What happens when your friend tells everyone? Your girls will be asked why their mum is going out with a pedo?! It's going to be horrible for everyone. Put your girls first, consider the effects of the whole situation for everyone. Break up with him.

Your 40 (at the time) year old boyfriend was kissing 15 year old girls. You have teenage daughters.

bye bye.

Jesus, my DH is in his 40’s if I thought he even eyed up (let alone touched) a 15year old I would find him revolting. I can hand on heart as an adult woman say I haven’t found a teenager attractive since I was actually a teenager. We shouldn’t have lower standards for men. I think it says something about him, how far would he have gone if he hadn’t been found out. She was a child.

He could have said no and reported this to the safeguarding officer at school, please don’t minimise his appalling behaviour OP.

I think your real question is do you think the judgement for being on a sex offender register is unfair. A sex. Offender. Register. There's my answer right there.

Zombie thread dammit 🤦‍♀️

Report
ZoeCM · 31/05/2022 15:13

I vaguely remember this zombie from the first time round! IIRC, there was a follow-up thread in which the OP got into hot water at work for having a relationship with a sex offender, and the boyfriend ended up ditching her anyway.

You know you have to get rid of him. There is NO other option and if you don't then you do not deserve any respect whatsoever.
Just because he has had no problems with other relationships does not mean your daughters are safe.

So a 40 year old man was going after a 15 y.o. student? Lovely. Yeh. End it now. This will only end in heartbreak.

You say he had previous relationships with other women with kids “with no issues”. How would you know there were no issues?

I’d not want to see him again

Ffs people are you really so un-observant? It’s a bloody zombie thread from 2014.

Have reported it. Given the nature of it it really doesn’t need resurrecting.

Op he was 40 when he did this. 40 op not straight out of university as a young man who may be flattered by the attention of a 15 year old girl. Was dp married at the time? I would be very wary of him, he should have been honest and open about it from the beginning especially as you have 2 daughters. I would ask him why he has kept quiet all this time
