The dating thread 66

Seeing as thread 65 is now full.

Nothing to report here. I'm still in almost daily contact with MrK but due to his work was not able to meet this weekend. We're hoping to arrange something for this coming weekend, so fingers crossed. I keep reminding myself that every-other weekend is fine, but it just seems such a long wait in between Sad

Seeing as I'm trying to keep my cool and my plan was only for something casual, I'm still looking for more dates. But there's no-one I like online at the moment [sigh]

Ah that's a shame siquando. I fear that I did that to someone I was texting when I met geeky - but like your lady I was upfront and honest about it, which is better I think. Online dating moves so quickly. I would actually really recommend POF - there's so much traffic that it can work if you're ruthless about who you speak to.

Geeky did text. All is well and he's over at mine tomorrow. Someone just keyed my car, the second time in six months that's happened - so I need cuddles. He texted me 'poor baby :('

Flora Paris is the 24th of January and geeky is sorting arrangements this week. We're going for the weekend and I am so excited. He said he's never been before as he was saving it for someone special. I told him I want to visit Oscar Wilde's grave, so we're definitely doing that. I need to order new clothes.

Santaclaws · 02/01/2014 17:07

He works as a supervisor for one group of staff and I work as nurse in charge so in effect am in charge of everybody on ward when I'm there. I have only met this man twice at work and we chatted and as he seemed nice and we got on when he asked me for s coffee I accepted, till I found he was married. Then stopped it. It's crazy

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 02/01/2014 17:17

Santaclaws I agree with Flora I'd tell him to stop harrassing you. I think if you have told someone to stop contacting you and they persist that it is legally harrassment and you can get restraining orders etc but a simple, stop contacting me, and then if he doesn't a final warning but look up the legal aspect.

So getting an outfit together for speed dating tonight. I am expecting it to be a complete disaster. So I can only be pleasantly surprised right!!??

Santaclaws · 02/01/2014 17:20

I have ignored the latest txt but will warn him if I get anymore

dontcallmehon · 02/01/2014 17:21

Ooh oneday good luck. It'll be interesting I bet.

Santa I agree with the others, it is harassment.

sad about my poor keyed car. Hope tomorrow's night in cheers me up.

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 02/01/2014 17:24

as in expecting the night to be a complete disaster.....my outfit will be cute yet sexy in a subtle way, obvs

FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 02/01/2014 17:31

Dont....it sounds fantastic. I may dream about meeting someone who whisks me to Paris. Not long till you go. Exciting.
Claws....well done on ignoring.
Oneday....ive never done speed dating. Let us know how it goes.
Ive texted bloke 4 again...if no reply...then next. Already started lining another up although still keen on him. I hope he replies.

siquando · 02/01/2014 17:40

@flora....ok lol, have a look, let me know what you think of my profile....could use with some advice / criticism. Smile

dontcallmehon · 02/01/2014 17:43

flora when I met geeky I'd been left a bit crushed by someone else I'd been on a couple of dates with - who went a bit weird. Didn't think I'd meet someone I liked quite as much. Then I did and he was perfect.

  • hopefully he will text you. But don't wait for crumbs of hope - there are lots and lots of potentially amazing dates out there.
FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 02/01/2014 17:50

Thanks Dont. His ex passed away a year ago so he may be feeling sad. Hes not dated since so i shall be patient.
Siquando...off to look now...if you have been viwed by someone shiny, its me!

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 02/01/2014 18:01

Well I'm off out. Clearing out my bag to go out I found the ticket from my last date with housemate guy (we went to a gig).....sniff sniff.....obvs haven't used this bag since then. Ah well onwards and upwards. Also found my favourite lippy I'd been looking for Grin

Watch out speed datey guys!!!

INeedSomeHelp · 02/01/2014 18:13

Has anyone been to see the Walter Mitty film yet? Eharmony plays a starring role in it!

Well, I was a bit concerned that I only heard from not so local guy when I initiated contact so I decided not to. Haven't heard from him since New Year's Eve - so I reckon that one's a write off. He was meant to be coming up this weekend (to stay with friends) but if he gets in touch now I think I might be busy.

MasterP0 · 02/01/2014 18:43

OneDay I wish you could show is your outfit, I'm such a girl!!! I actually wish I was joining you, sounds like a hoot!

Siquando & Flora I'm sitting here with a HUGE GRIN on my face, what if you guys are a match????!!!!! Ok, I'll quietly go sit back down!

Don't that's terrible about your car, jealous freaks!!

Well Tinder is proving to be just the distraction I needed, already got a new number, I THINK this is how dating is supposed to be until you become exclusive, but Mr Wales is still the front runner by a looooooong shot!!!

MasterP0 · 02/01/2014 18:48

Oh InEed, I haven't seen that, I HATE ROMCOMS/CHICKFLICKS, most not all, movies with Ben Stiller. GIVE ME guns, martial arts, super hero, foreign films ANYDAY, EVERYDAY!!!!!!

LiesDamnLiesandSoggybiscuits · 02/01/2014 18:52

Evening everyone!

Taken the plunge and signed up to POF again.
Saw my ex was also back and had a little wobble. Am getting over it by messaging all and sundry. Plus that's the only way to get any traffic seeing as my photos are private...for some reason I always seem to need to work up the courage to reveal them!

Siquando have to admit I have had a little peek!

FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 02/01/2014 18:57

Lies....you need pics to generate traffic on pof.
Master...siquando is indeed a cutie but me being 10 years older may be a problem....that and the 300 or so miles lol.
Good for you getting a number though!
What do you think about bloke 4..... Maybe he's not ready to date :0( thought he might have replied since he was the one keen in the first place.

siquando · 02/01/2014 19:25

"Cutie" eh, lol that's very kind.

I have to say flora, you don't look a day over 25 Wink

FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 02/01/2014 19:38

Ha ha....and you are a good liar Siquando....but thank you. Im not bad for my age i suppose lol.
And good job on tweaks to your profile :0)

kscience · 02/01/2014 19:45

one day best attitude, please report back not done the speed dating thing, but did go to a match.com evening.

dont have fun in Paris, I have memories of a lovely dirty long weekend.

Master how does Tinder work?

Am having fun with OK Cupid, lots of messages. Kissinggates much less promising and dodgy messages, despite being the site you pay for.... go figure.

New one on me....in profile chap admits to being half separated, So in first message I ask outright what that means, chap admits lives away Mon-Fri and back for kids at weekends. I politely said thanks but no thanks.....cake and eat it anyone???

Santaclaws · 02/01/2014 20:20

He has text twice again since I last posted, both of which I have ignored. I'm getting a bit scared tbh. I don't want to make it awkward at work. I told him earlier let's just keep it professional at work and forget any of it happened. But he won't let it drop. If I start threatening what if things get funny at work. I don't like this at all

FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 02/01/2014 20:34

Claws....send him a text along the lines of....."i ask that you do not contact me again as this is verging on harrassment. I have told you i am not interested and i ask that we remain professional at work. If you continue to contact me in this way i will be forced to take the matter further. Kind regards"

Bant · 02/01/2014 20:36

Santa - what were his last texts?

kscience · 02/01/2014 20:39

Santa, do you have an HR dept that you can log the issue with? Just so that if there is anything "funny" at work then you have already got your side of the story in, i.e. shown them texts, especially the texts asking him to stay away.

Santaclaws · 02/01/2014 20:43

bant last texts were 1) I am not mad asking you out because I think your worth it regardless of what you think of me. 2) goodnight.

flora I think that sounds good I will text that I think. Although I have told him before not to contact me and we will just be professional at work. I didn't mention harassment though so it might be time now

Santaclaws · 02/01/2014 20:46

Yes there is a HR department at work. I don't even know this mans surname that's how mad all this is. I think he's some sort of nutter now
