Seeing as thread 65 is now full.

Nothing to report here. I'm still in almost daily contact with MrK but due to his work was not able to meet this weekend. We're hoping to arrange something for this coming weekend, so fingers crossed. I keep reminding myself that every-other weekend is fine, but it just seems such a long wait in between Sad

Seeing as I'm trying to keep my cool and my plan was only for something casual, I'm still looking for more dates. But there's no-one I like online at the moment [sigh]

Right 2014 all about getting out there

Anyone tried Kissinggates? I signed up (but not yet paid up) 14 new messages.... so might give it a go

HanselandGretel · 01/01/2014 13:51

Not heard of it but looked on Google, it's one of those 'umbrella' companies by the looks of it...covering rural / mature /hobbies etc?
I'm wouldn't be too keen on it as I'd be wary of lots of non paid up members, it tends to be the way with those sort of sites.

MasterP0 · 01/01/2014 19:46

eHarmony ad has just aired and I'm sitting here screaming LIES LIES LIES, like a crazy woman.......OH DEAR!!!

ALittleStranger · 01/01/2014 20:03

Ha Master, I saw it earlier and thought the same.

All the long-term relationships I know are off the back of Guardian Soulmates or Match.

sponge31 · 01/01/2014 20:05

I'm surprised Libyan Dr didn't ask for money, similar to those viral Nigerian emails?!?!?

LMFAO @ YO MAMMA!

Sponge what is okc???

I've also made a decision to no longer to read all the negative/any threads on the "Relationships" board, honestly, they make me want to give up on LOVE AND IN 2014 I'm all about, LOVE, LAUGHTER, HAPPINESS, PROSPERITY etc.

sponge31 · 01/01/2014 20:24

powpow80 · 01/01/2014 21:44

Happy New Year to one and all. May it bring everyone the happiness they am deserve.

I am off to a flying start on pif. Some guy asked me after a few messages if I would let him take me to a restaurant and play with my fanjo while at the table. I tell you I haven't laughed so hard at a pof message in a while.

HanselandGretel · 01/01/2014 21:51

Had a message from Number 4, exchanged a couple more, but then he goes quiet again, a coffee suggestion would be nice by lets say, Sunday, else the sporadic messaging will become a bit pointless.

kscience · 01/01/2014 21:52

H&G have you asked him for coffee?

HanselandGretel · 01/01/2014 22:01

We've not really exchanged that many messages, between 2 and 4 a day so it's not got that sort of momentum yet...but if we're still talking over the weekend I'd like 'him' to suggest coffee...c'mon, kscience, I sent him the first message! I would like him to ask me out, maybe a little old fashioned but I like the man to do the asking.

kscience · 01/01/2014 22:17

H&G How many days? How many messages in total? I am with you on the men asking, couldn't remember how far you had got wit the messaging

Sponge have you got down to the match questions????

PowPow... you win on the message wierdometer

HanselandGretel · 01/01/2014 22:22

Only 2 days, a few messages on Monday, then a couple yesterday and a couple today....do you think hoping for a suggestion of coffee by Sunday is reasonable?

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 01/01/2014 22:25

In a fit of madness I just signed up to a speed dating event tomorrow night!!! Aaargh!!! I've just had so many odd messages the last few days on the OD sites - loving reading all yours too. I've had a few asking for more photos after only a few hello messages. And one who wrote to me in his THIRD message ''you are such an amazing woman, you are so special to me''....psycho alert.

So aaargh, never been speed dating before. Need to come up with a few questions to ask people to get an idea of who they are and that also make me sound intriguing...hmm!

powpow that is brilliant. knobber. (new favourite word)

girlie 3 months? hmm, how do you feel about that? It'd be a bit soon for me, especially after a marriage. What is he looking for? Sorry you were feeling sick hope you're getting better now.

kscience · 01/01/2014 22:37

One day not tried the speed dating thing, but my favourite job interview question might be adaptable..... "Why shouldn't i take this job?" could become why shouldn't I date you?

powpow80 · 01/01/2014 22:46

Fair play Oneday for signing up for a speed dating event. My mum was asking me over Christmas if I would consider trying it. Awaiting your report with interest.

H&G if you don't want to ask it's ok to wait another few days for him to ask. Whatever you feel comfortable with.

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 01/01/2014 22:51

Ooh, that's a good one kscience thanks! Like it! Hmm how would you answer that!

MasterP0 · 01/01/2014 22:57

H&G that's so tedious, but sometimes it takes them a while, bless them!

I sometimes think the key with some men, just like children is PATIENCE!

Maybe the lesson to learn from this is to continue to talk to others so that you're not "focused" on the one, but like most females I'm a ONE MAN AT A TIME woman!!! We need to really become better at this game playing, SIGH!!!!!!!!!

Sunday is reasonable enough time, personally I'd say something Fri night, Sat afternoon, like ".....what about a coffee to see if there's any point to all these texts??" I just don't have the time or patience (contradiction) so I JUST ASK, otherwise I'll be 90 and past my sell by date before he summons up the courage!

Worst case scenario, he says NO!!!!!!

HanselandGretel · 01/01/2014 23:04

PO - I would carry on talking to others but there isn't anyone else I like the look of! I will let it breeze along and if nothing happens then more than likely I'll just lose interest, rather than ask him out, as I'll view him differently is he drags his feet too much. His way might be to talk for ages, but that's not compatible with my way so that in itself would put the kybosh on it...I ask again, why is this whole OD thing so hard???!!

kscience · 01/01/2014 23:04

OK so what are the chances............ just had a work colleague looking at my profile!!! At least he is single. May have to send him a cheeky message...just to let him know he was caught out peeking. LOL

FloraSpreadableMacDonald · 01/01/2014 23:07

Science.....that happened to me recently....an old friend viewed me so i sent him a message. He replied and we said we would go out for a drink. We havent yet!

HanselandGretel · 01/01/2014 23:15

Kscience - that's funny! so he'll have seen that you viewed his too? could be the start of something?? Wink
