Bicarbonate of soda is what you need penguin .. Sprinkle it on the mattress and once dry Hoover it off

Snapespeare · 17/09/2013 17:59

Playing scrabble with nameless. His opening gambit was 'aisle' as in 'let's walk down the'

I've responded with 'hall' as in church

Maybe I'm overthinking this..... Hmm Grin

KinNora · 17/09/2013 18:20

Is this Snameless coming up on the inside to win the Dating Thread Nuptials Sweepstake by a nose from 49R ?

Snapespeare · 17/09/2013 18:27

Stand down. He's played 'kelt' which is a salmon that's a bit worse for wear after spawning.

Grin
KinNora · 17/09/2013 18:34

Oh poor show, Nameless

ALittleStranger · 17/09/2013 18:52

That means he wants your babies!! Although maybe he unreasonable attitudes towards the subsequent division of labour.

Snapespeare · 17/09/2013 18:58

He's now played 'tent' as in, let's go camping

I've played 'sex'. as in....sex

Hmm
JulietteMontague · 17/09/2013 19:49

I've been rather absent from the thread as I'm finally back home after 10 days of renovating my Uncle's house with Dutchie. 10 days of camp beds, polyfiller, random bum cleavage. Plus dealing with my Mum. So no wifi or 3G. All done now though.

Lovely to hear all the good news Smile

49howdidthathappen · 17/09/2013 20:05

Sorry it didn't work out Title

Penguin Breakfast Hmm

You have been mega busy Juliette

No date fixed. Yet Smile

scrazy · 17/09/2013 20:40

Snape, I had a dream about you last night, that you got engaged Grin.

Snapespeare · 17/09/2013 20:53

Squeak!!!

I had a dream the other night, that I was walking along a beach and there were a selection of vibrators washed up like driftwood, half buried in the shingle. There was a red huge anatomically correct one, a sleek gold bullet one and one of those ones that pretends to be a 'personal massager' ...but we all know what it's really for. I felt a bit sorry for them. They all buzzed pathetically as I walked past them.

I'm going to cosmic- order me a wedding. Or at least a proposal. And a new job. I'm giving it a year and 6 months respectively.

Snapespeare · 17/09/2013 20:54

juliette how was it? :-)

Cabrinha · 17/09/2013 21:12

Hello!
I just started OD after chucking STBXH in April for years of using prostitutes. Nice.
I first looked at the thread last week but the Bant ban had just happened and it didn't seem the time!

I've had a little read back, but not 28 pages and I can't remember everyone's current status and stories... though I wish everyone luck!

How does the thread work? Do you just pitch in and chat and then get to know people's stories as you go on?

unBant · 17/09/2013 21:15

Cabrinha - hi and welcome :)

Yes that's the way, any questions, any stories, any advice.

Any luck with OD yet? Which site are you using?

Cabrinha · 17/09/2013 21:37

Thanks for the welcome!

I'm only on match.com
I'm not (currently) in much of a rush - in fact, done days I think I can't be arsed at all. Which is probably good as I'm not investing too much emotionally!

I've had a few emails which is nice, though literacy levels aren't high! And lots of winks from men 20 years my senior. Haven't replied to many, you get so little sense of a person - and if they don't say much in the email, there's just not much to go on.

So far:
One guy wanting my number and putting xxx straight away and asking for coffee really quickly, being first to text each day. And then disappearing. Could be he met someone - this thread has taught me disappearance is common! But my sixth sense thinks it was an ego thing - can I make a woman say yes?

One actual date! Which was quite nice, but I think I might be a bit forthright for him. We had a little kiss (no tongues even) and he looked a bit scared and said he'd never kissed on a first date before. I'm such a predator!!!

Looking forward to getting to know you all.
Have to say thank you already, the experiences I've lurked to read so far have helped me grow my thick skin for OD in advance!

49howdidthathappen · 17/09/2013 22:36

Hi Cab Welcome Smile

It's great that this thread has been useful to you.

Good luck with the dating.

ladygoingGaga · 17/09/2013 22:46

Another newbie here!
I've been lurking on here, and like cab found lots of the advice and stories useful Smile

I've been looking on PoF for a while, while keeping my profile hidden, been quite Confused at some of the profiles.

Registered on Match this week and the quality is a vast improvement, although when a 71 yr old winks at you it is rather disturbing, especially as I'm in my late 30's

Anyway I seem to have my very first date on Thursday, a fireman apparently, unless he hired the uniform for the photo Grin

I'm now crapping myself

unBant · 17/09/2013 22:48

Crapping yourself on a date is generally seen as a no-no, Gaga.

TheTitleSaysItAllReally · 17/09/2013 22:57

Just snorted a little with laughter at that Bant. I've read a bit back and although I'm desperately confused by everything, I'd just like to say that I am glad you're back. It wouldn't have been the same without you!

If anyone would like to pm me details of FB people I'd be happy to friend everyone... Since I had to cull everyone following the ex's snooping I've got so few friends it's embarrassing!

ladygoingGaga · 17/09/2013 22:59

Yeah can't imagine it would go own well Grin

I'm going to have to drive, so can't even have a drink to soften the shock.

ladygoingGaga · 17/09/2013 23:00

Oops 'down' Blush

49howdidthathappen · 18/09/2013 08:06

Look forward to your update Gaga Smile

There does seem to a lot of Firemen on OD. The unsociable hours maybe.

ALittleStranger · 18/09/2013 08:12

Makes sweeping generalisation aren't firemen massive shaggers too?

49howdidthathappen · 18/09/2013 08:29

Maybe its the uniform? I always think it looks like it will take way too long to get all that kit off Blush

Stand to be corrected Grin

Kirstywirsty · 18/09/2013 15:33

I think it's all the free time they have on their hands .. Same as cops .. Shifts make it easy to be where you shouldn't be .. Although my ex ( fireman) had his affair while on secondment to the council working Monday to Friday .. He just had a lot of fake meetings and fake training and days where he dropped me at work but didn't actually go to work himself
