The Rules

  1. Develop a thick skin;
  2. Do not invest emotionally too soon;
  3. It's all BS until it actually happens;
  4. Trust your gut instinct;
  5. People vanishing, lying and being generally weird to you are not your fault
  6. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you
  7. If it's not fun, stop
  8. loo update is mandatory

Snape Yay for your DD.

Fuck em to the twunts encountered. A big thumbs up for the good uns.

lovelybunchofcoconuts · 31/08/2013 19:15

secret can I be your fb friend? I am already Snape?s and she is my hero

Evening all Grin

I can do London or the West Country and I?m not bringing any DCs.

Juliette back in December I was having a shite time and you were lovely and rational, I was touched by the advice you gave me. Speaking from very personal experience teenagers are the work of the devil, 1 in the house is enough to make any rational, lovely person scream in a blood curdling manner.
When my teen ?the blessing? kicks off I often need to remove myself quietly from the situation and take a few deep breaths, that?s difficult with another adult in the house.
Add into the mix another adult you want to spend time with and trying to keep the teenage histrionics low key in front of the other adult and KABOOM. This has happened to me recently too.
I am impossible to talk to sometimes! At other times I?m just difficult Grin.

wine Wine to auld hoors everywhere Grin

Oww yay.

JulietteMontague · 31/08/2013 19:45

Thank you all for being so kind, Coco that's it in a nutshell it's a horrible dynamic. OWW your post about introverts also made me realise that i've been getting beyond stressed in not feeling I can take time out whilst Dutchie is working his arse off at a time when i need it most my toenails are currently unpainted, the horror, which says it all really So fuck that we've spoken, no idea how it will pan out but i think ive been overwhelmed and lost a bit of myself and that stops now. What will be will be

OWW have a wonderful time, Flo what a tit.

Hero-shmero shakespearo but ta! coco x

Snapespeare · 31/08/2013 19:55

Keep finding retro photos of nameless. Seriously. This is mildly freaking me out as my original OKC profile was a time-traveller.... And he looks a bit a like tesla (rrrrr!) & I just found a photo of a 1920s lifeguard who looks like him.

I might have actually bagged the doctor.

Or I just see him everywhere. Either way it's good. Grin

Bant · 31/08/2013 20:07

good thing he's not like tesla. Didn't he fall in love with a pigeon?

Snapespeare · 31/08/2013 20:23

Have pigeons under my roof. I feel a connec-shun! ;-)

Snapespeare · 31/08/2013 20:24

Tesla would have been red-flag city tho.

kittykat10 · 31/08/2013 20:24

Date report!

Brilliant !

We went out at half 11 I've just got in.
It got a little heated and physical in a good way but common sense made me stop, I wanted to but we didn't really have any where to go.
My lips are sore from the kissing and my legs are wobbly.
I nearly cried at him tho , he was so nice when asked him to stop , just hope he don't think I'm a tease.

Hamwidgeandcheps · 31/08/2013 20:42

Ooh kitty I am well jel!

kittykat10 · 31/08/2013 20:45

Slow burner is amazing thoughWink

I am enjoying pof. There's quite a few sexy men and a lot less mingers than I expected (previous od exp).

kittykat10 · 31/08/2013 21:32

Do feel a bit bad tho it only 3rd date

OhWesternWind · 31/08/2013 21:45

Alpha is just taking babysitter home! Fun is going to be had very very soon. This man is wonderful (and appreciates good underwear). Fanjo is not leaping, it's pole vaulting (I wish) Grin

KinNora · 31/08/2013 21:56

You go OWW - yay !

Hamwidgeandcheps · 31/08/2013 22:16

kitty congrats.

Juliette you sound as if you are being so so hard on yourself. You seem such a together and lovely person and have been so supportive to many on here including me. Dutchie will see that and if he's a good bloke he will also see what a hard time ds is giving you. (Is this what I have got coming btw... ds1 is 10 and SO lovely... I dread the Change- they say it comes overnight around 13 and they start to grunt and withdraw??)

WineI have done the 20 thing too. In fact I think he was younger. And I am 40. Nasty little sod. If yours is nice then why the heck not? Was messaging another one but the open milf obsession and the fact he lived with his actual mother kind of put me off... fit as hell tho! :D

Just as there are immature wankers in the 50s there must be decent guys in their 20s...

I am in meh phase. Realised how hung up I still am on drama queen ex. He's been messaging telling me he still loves me. Didn't stop him abandoning me for 2 months tho when I was pregnant Hmm

I sometimes think maybe I'll never be able to get him out of my head though. (I know, he is not the only drama queen...)

Snape nameless as the doctor sounds PERFECT. Does he swear all the time too a la Capaldi? I'm so looking forward to the next incarnation...

I love everyone on this thread- funny, caring and straightforward people-- and would love to meet up in London. In fact I'll host, get your booze orders in...

hostesswithleastest · 31/08/2013 22:50

OWW love the pole vaulting fanjo :D

hostesswithleastest · 31/08/2013 22:51

Bant I think no guilt about dating Hungarian lady, you know Mermaid is also dating and you are emotionally committed but not monogamous... seems all very sensible, if difficult.

Someone did say upthread that it might make you 'Mr Unavailable' to the women you date in Hungary. i guess you just have to be upfront and not create any false expectations.
