The Rules

  1. Develop a thick skin;
  2. Do not invest emotionally too soon;
  3. It's all BS until it actually happens;
  4. Trust your gut instinct;
  5. People vanishing, lying and being generally weird to you are not your fault
  6. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you
  7. If it's not fun, stop
  8. loo update is mandatory

Good luck to everyone going on dates tonight!

I had date 3 with the rockstar last night which involved sitting in the park with a couple of beers and talking/him playing the guitar for me - it was perfect! I have to say I'm struggling with rule 2 but my gut instinct is happy so I'm just seeing what happens.

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 24/08/2013 10:37

That's rule four Left Smile

Grincheroo · 24/08/2013 10:41

Actually, WFF I'm pretty sure it's you I live near.
I couldn't remember whether it was you or OWW but something you said the other day made me think it was you.
There are a few of us on here round our way Smile

Haha Juliette that's hilarious!

BaltiPie · 24/08/2013 11:32

Hi can I join you? I've been lurking/stalking since thread 18 Smile

The thread has given me some great advice and support since I split from ex last April. Thanks so much for sharing all your good news, experiences and disasters!

I've been dating off and on(tried RL, e harmony, match and now OKC) but its exhausting sometimes!

Found some lovely guys who just weren't for me. One who I'm incredibly attracted to but I'm just not sure if he's totally genuine. Have been on and off with him for a year.

One strange bloke who seemed great on the surface then got incredibly (wedding talk) serious early on.... I broke it off, had a purple of intense emails and then two months later he's engaged to someone else!! Phew!

And last night exchanged a few emails with someone from OKC so immediately came back to this forum for moral support and actually got he courage up to post. Grin

Sorry for the long waffle!

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 24/08/2013 11:39

Jules I want one of those please. It would keep me off The Thread so early in the morning and put my excess energies to good useGrin

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 24/08/2013 11:42

Grinch, are you sure? (And you're a bloke right?) Wink

Yeah, I know The Thread forbids it.

Just a quick update: had Dinner, Breakfast and Coffee...drank far too much and can't remember all, but wasn't the best ever...both a bit too awkward and careful maybe? But he is lovely, and I would definitely like to have another go...

(LeftTB I've definitely broken rule 2 and am hopelessly attached!)

OWW any news??

Grincheroo · 24/08/2013 12:11

WFF I'm pretty sure, but I am very sure I'm a proper girl Smile

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 24/08/2013 12:24

Sad Really, you're a girl Blush apologies Smile

We could be RL going out and pulling mates Grinch I promise/will try to behave.

Obviously, apart from the cardiovascular benefits, my trip to the gym hasn't help me one bit, has it?

hostesswithleastest · 24/08/2013 12:30

waves to everyone

Am struggling with Rule 5 this morning. Extremely attractive WAY TOO YOUNG person mucked me around on Friday. I got all tarted up and he cancelled...

I know I should be gavelling right now as he's clearly a bloody timewaster but am ruminating... gah. :D

Kirsty so pleased for you!

Wine I missed something, what happened to Mr. Amazing Vagina?? Gavelled I assume xx

Other than mr. disappearing act, there seems to be something in the air atm. 3 exes contacted me last week. I seem to be becoming Multiple Fallback Girl Hmm Also one older RL guy who seems cool but lives on the coast a long way from London....

hostesswithleastest · 24/08/2013 12:38

Juliette exceptionally jealous!!!

LOL Juliette!

Hi Tigsy - I can't remember who you were before but I recall Mr Ex Army.

scrazy · 24/08/2013 13:36

hostess, can you explain gavelling to me Blush.

No date 3 for me now, he text to cancel and wants to see me when I am in a position to go on a proper date Hmm. I thought he wanted NSA sex.

Grincheroo · 24/08/2013 13:40

Hi all,

Well the big news here is that Ironman & I are no more. We were looking at places to rent and it just didn't feel right, I knew that it would be move in or move on so move on I will!
I'm the sort of person who makes my mind up and sticks to it so I'm alright with it because I know it's the right decision.

WFF did you really think I was a man? Really? But I've got all the lady acoutrements Grin
So yes, let's be pulling mates although I won't promise to behave Smile

hostess gavel and move along, it's the order of the day!

Wine Grin

MirandaWest · 24/08/2013 13:40

I need an ODOL Grin

XH has replied and will take DC to his house at 5pm but he said I could stay so we can talk about when were each having them this term. Will be champing at the bit to leave I think HmmGrin

Breaking MN rules by being in McDonald's although DC aren't having fruit shoots so I'm not Totally bad :)

Grincheroo · 24/08/2013 13:42

scrazy a judge bangs a gavel down when an act is final, therefore a gavel is a decisive act of finality.
In Hostess' case it means she needs to decide not to bother finally and move along.

scrazy · 24/08/2013 13:45

Ah thanks, I did google it and got the hammer but didn't put 2 and 2 together.

LeftTheBastard · 24/08/2013 13:50

Oh dear Wine - it's so disappointing when that happens!
