Flipper934 · 16/08/2013 20:40

Ham, I'm not liking the sound of this...

Bant, fashion here is only just escaping the shell suit, so I struggle to imagine the beard thing. Interesting about the anticipation of sex stimulating growth, though. What do you want to do about Hungarian girl?

Any news from Barry Cryer's love child?

hostesswithleastest · 16/08/2013 20:45

hi all and congrats to snape in particular (I am an old lurker from back when)

how goes it for everyone?

I am in OD purgatory with vague ray of light from Cityboy. We both went on holiday shortly after 2nd date when we DTD.

I am now totally torn over him as he is sexting a bit too much and occasionally giving off player vibes BUT there are other nice things like saying how well we get on etc too and he doesn't just want sex etc etc.

We have next date on Monday, he's definitely heading here and I'm scared!! Usual body issues and will he think I am hideous in the morning (no debate, I AM hideous in the morning)

Anyone else getting soooo bored with all this texting, emailing etc going nowhere or not far.

Cityboy has kids whom he sees every weekend, a long way from London... I am with kids 3/4 days out of 7...he's making some of the right noises, but it might be hard to get anything going here with someone who NEVER has a free weekend night. Hmm. Or am I just being negative??

hostesswithleastest · 16/08/2013 20:46

I would have to reply to the Barry Cryer love child message myself and I am female, so you are BOUND to get a reply even if it's just outraged.

Bant btw I would go for it with Hungarian over the long weekend. Nowt to lose. Beard to gain.

justmeandmytwo · 16/08/2013 20:59

Hey guys, sorry for the short and sweet post in advance. Just wondered, as haven't heard from Navy all week, do I assume we aren't going to meet on Sunday? We were previously chatting everyday until we decided on coffee instead. Wondering if he's narked that I changed the overnight plans (which would be telling anyway).
And a little thank you to all, for previous advice and for making me smile laugh and get all emotional on many occasions, love this thread Flowers

KinNora · 16/08/2013 21:02

Reporting in - nothing from either Bastard Child of Barry and Clint or Gay Paree (his user name is the forenames of a famous stuffed communist leader, I suggested he was looking surprisingly perky all things considered )

I should've just gone for anodyne and girly.

hostesswithleastest · 16/08/2013 21:09

No reply to that outstanding message is just a travesty Kin. Forget him!

Hamwidgeandcheps · 16/08/2013 21:10

Dating since June I think and previously as well.

So glad for everyone's happy news Grin

OhWesternWind · 16/08/2013 21:19

Lovely lovely lovely Snape but we so knew this was coming! Bet you're grinning til your mouth hurts Grin like that

Bant I'm going against the trend I think - I wouldn't do it, not if you really like Mermaid. You know the Hungarian won't measure up and it will be a disappointment and you might end up feeling a bit bad about it. Could you bring up the subject of (not) seeing other people with the Mermaid so you both know where you are? If she's still seeing other people, then just do what you feel comfortable with.

Does the beard stop growing so well once you're actually getting some? You might have to hold off a bit longer in the interests of optimum splendour in the beard department

Ham this man does sound like he's one for the mind games. Are you still sure about carrying on with him? You don't sound very happy.

Title great stuff! Smart jeans and a nice top. Good news too Raen - thank god for pubs at the top of hills.

Hostess don't worry, all sounds good (apart from the excessive sexting - do you just ignore him or te him to give over?). Do you both live in London and you mean he travels to where his dc live every weekend? It wouldn't worry me too much not to see someone at weekends, at least not in the early days.

Just when/what was the last communication and is if a new thing for him to go quiet? Doesn't sound too good but some people don't like all the texting and chatting. Do you need to arrange a babysitter?

I love these blokes' names Nora - go and message some more in a mimsy and girly fashion (mentioning handbags and fluffy kittens) and see what happens.

Out with Alpha tomorrow. Grin Grin. Can't believe things are going so well and somebody so nice actually likes me back.

OhWesternWind · 16/08/2013 21:25

Actually Nora I do NOT mean "mimsy" due to it having the following definition:

^5. Mimsy
Share on twitter Share on facebook Share on more
13 up, 23 down
Home-made artificial vagina.

Making a wanking aid out of household objects, such as a child's armband under a sofa cushion^

Erm, no, please don't message anyone ever in that fashion. Soz.

hostesswithleastest · 16/08/2013 21:29

Mimsy!! I love it!

you're right OWW it does sound OK doesn't it. I mostly ignore the sexting or send polite replies. LOL. He wants pictures of me all the time. Ffs I am 40 and only take selfies when pissed. And they are crap.

hostesswithleastest · 16/08/2013 21:29

remember Alice in Wonderland 'all mimsy were the borogroves and the mome raths outgrabe'? Or am I the only nerd/geek who thought of that: :D

Your interpretation gives a new angle on it OWW

KinNora · 16/08/2013 21:31

Oooh, I'm so sending a message to a man about a mimsy OWW.

KinNora · 16/08/2013 21:33

And in my childish amusement I quite forgot to say how lovely that you're seeing Alpha tomorrow.

hostesswithleastest · 16/08/2013 21:41

Yes OWW made up for you with Alpha :D

hostesswithleastest · 16/08/2013 21:41

Kin let us know what the results of the mimsy email blitz are

OhWesternWind · 16/08/2013 21:48

I would tell him to pack in the sexting though Hostess if you don't like it. Does he want pictures or Pictures? If you're not comfortable, tell him no. Pictures aaaargh!

I thought of Lewis Carroll too as soon as I'd posted. He was a bold one, using this word in a published work. This is not a word for the faint hearted to tangle with. If also means

  1. mimsy The female genitals. Can also use "Mrs. Mimsy".

and

  1. mimsy A person who behaves with inexpicable stupidity

And right at the end, the one I wanted

  1. mimsy Prim or affected; over-refined; mincing.

Phew!!

Mrs Mimsy!! Haaaaa!!

KinNora · 16/08/2013 21:55

I must confess that I didn't think of Lewis Carroll but then I never really enjoyed the Alice books, I think I found them quite irritating even as a child. (I'm also putting off writing some girly messages, it's just too hard, I cannae do it )

Yogagirl17 · 16/08/2013 22:52

Lol @ Mimsy! I quite like definition 6 - I think I would get a lot of use out of that one!

Snape how fab! Makes me sad I missed the beginnings but so happy for you.

Bant a full beard, really? Why? Ooh - by the way, might be going to a thing in a few weeks (if I can talk a friend into going with me) where they're going to do a Bal Moderne. Apparently it's Belgian. I googled and it sounds fun - have you heard of it?

I might have a date with Socks n Sandals. Went round to a friends for dinner and she gave him the thumbs up. She also convinced me to bin the others I'd been chatting with as even though they were all slightly better looking that S 'n S, they all were either stuffy, dull or angry sounding. So Sandals it is I guess.

Yogagirl17 · 16/08/2013 22:53
MirandaWest · 16/08/2013 23:06

I have not yet killed XH. This is good. However he has only been here for 80 minutes (and we did one hour plus round trip to get him from the station).

Why did I marry him I wonder? (The DC are obviously a v good part but I think I did make some not good decisions ). He is reading to DS and then I will get to hear about his holiday with his gf.

Feel a little in a parallel reality it has to be said. We do spend Christmas Day together and seemingly both survive (ie some level of being amicable) but I am not exactly relishing the next two days....

Need to message Mr Nice a lot

Hamwidgeandcheps · 16/08/2013 23:18

Arf at Mimsy Grin

Yogagirl17 · 16/08/2013 23:28

Miranda I am in awe
