Run for your life Pom? Wink

OhWesternWind · 16/08/2013 09:33

Hello Roller - I wouldn't expect phone calls at all really and tbh I don't like chatting on the phone unless I know someone pretty well as I find it a bit awkward. I think there are quite a few people like that. Have only had two phone calls off Alpha, once when he was stuck in traffic and running late, and once when he couldn't find me in the place we'd arranged to meet. I much prefer it that way, happy to chat by text/e-mail as there's no pressure to respond straight away.

Pom I'd go for the drink. It's only a drink, you're not committing yourself to anything and odds on are that there won't be a spark anyway so no issue. What's the age range of the children by the way?

The pilot sounds a bit flaky, can't be doing with the disappearers/reappearers, just messes with your head.

KinNora · 16/08/2013 10:13

Just out of interest, has anyone had a 99% match on okc ? I've just found one, sadly not someone I fancy the arse off (and I suspect my lack of tattoos and unusual piercings might mean I don't float his boat either)

OhWesternWind · 16/08/2013 10:19

Just think Nora if you got yourself down the tattoo parlour you might be 100%!

MirandaWest · 16/08/2013 10:26

Mr Nice and I were pretty high but definitely not 100% on OKC and he is just right for me I think :)

MirandaWest · 16/08/2013 10:30

I have no idea why XH wished me a happy anniversary btw - not showing me what I'm missing as he was the one happy to break up the marriage and sleep with someone else (at least he is still with her though). Probably some odd cheerful thing that he has the habit of doing.

He will be arriving here later on this evening. This is making me a bit antsy, but its only 48 hours and I will survive . Ian having the odd "green meanie" thought as he calls it (both of us know nothing is going to happen and he isn't really jealous but its not exactly nice for him either I guess).

DC having a row now too before we go out for the day Grin. Am lurking with the picnic making and being glad I got a 1 month SIM for three as O2 does not work here at all and no phone or Internet would actually have killed me.

MirandaWest · 16/08/2013 10:33

Ah Mr Nice appears to have a name :)

KinNora · 16/08/2013 10:34

Thank you OWW and Miranda I was just undecided about contacting him and slightly surprised about the high % , however there's a foxy 97% candidate whose profile actually made me laugh out loud.

KinNora · 16/08/2013 10:35

You need a bloody medal Miranda

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 16/08/2013 10:41

I thought I'd found you your man Kin?Wink

OhWesternWind · 16/08/2013 10:51

Hope you have a lovely day Miranda - good luck for your ex's visit. Can you lie low a bit or will you be doing things all together?

Ooh Nora you get on and contact him straight away. A funny fox! What more could one ask for on a rainy Friday morning?

KinNora · 16/08/2013 10:56

Yes, soz WFF I was forgetting that particular hunk a hunk of burning love ...

OWW he's in Paris, malheureusement ( get me ) .

Currently chatting to a US Army sergeant in Kabul - don't buy any hats, I'm thinking we're going to have political differences ...

Yogagirl17 · 16/08/2013 11:02

Thanks for the link mooncup!

Kin I'd go for the 97% who makes you laugh!

Good luck Miranda

PlotTwist · 16/08/2013 12:02

I met my best friend through OD, we rate in the high eighties for match and friend, but we're looking for different stuff long term (and I'm older than he is), the message I contacted him with was to point out he'd copied and pasted all his details twice on one section. Two years later and I'm still correcting his spelling Grin

I also met another friend on there, I find him unattractive but he's a fun guy to chat to, so that's what we do.

Not doing so well on the finding actual dates aspect though...

KinNora · 16/08/2013 12:12

Thank you Pilot and Yoga, I think I'll message the pair of them, especially as I'm feeling slightly guilty about never contacting men first and I reckon I need some kind of distraction

Yogagirl17 · 16/08/2013 12:20

Kin you should read mooncup's link

KinNora · 16/08/2013 13:17

Yes, I did Yoga - interesting isn't it ?

I'm reaching a new personal low, 5 year old at soft play just told me that he only sees his dad three days a week but ' dad is a scientist who looks for dinosaurs ' - sadly said child is with his nanna otherwise I'd be setting myself the challenge of being alluring while clambering over plastic obstacles.

Flipper934 · 16/08/2013 13:31

Nora, is said child blond and called Ben? Have you accidentally stepped into an episode of Friends?

I've never had a 99%. A couple of 98%s in the US and Canada, but my highest within a 20 mile radius is 3DD at 92%. MA is 94 or 96 Smile

KinNora · 16/08/2013 13:38

No Flipper , that did occur to me ( I'd do Chandler, deffo ).

I'm interested to hear more about MA, it sounds like it's going pretty well.

JulietteMontague · 16/08/2013 15:20

Kin you are a veteran of OD, there is no such thing as a personal low.

You have to chat to the Nana, she could be the Dad's Mum and be desperate for him to settle down with a naice woman not like that bitch of an ex who took him for every penny he didn't have.

Alternatively, you can sympathise with her daughter's predicament and grill her as to where the 'errant' exH hangs out.

Miranda I take my hat off to you, I would last approximately 5 nanoseconds with that.

Pom oh meet him, what the hell nothing ventured...

Pomegranatenoir · 16/08/2013 15:30

The kids are aged 3 to 14! Quite a spread!!!

OhWesternWind · 16/08/2013 15:42

I would go and meet him Pom really - nothing to lose and you'll have a nice evening out whatever. I am assuming that his children all spend time with their mum as well as with him, so he has some child-free time which means that at least in the early dating stages it shouldn't really have any impact.

I am trying to be balanced here as I'm very aware that on paper I look a bit of a dead-loss dating-wise given that I have my two children with me 24/7. I know that some people wouldn't give me a chance because of this. Their choice, of course, but it's not nice to be written off because of the situation you end up in with your dc.

OhWesternWind · 16/08/2013 15:45

Lovely Alpha is on his way back, stuck in traffic though so I think it's going to be quite late by the time he's home. Should get to see him this weekend though whoopee!! Grin

JulietteMontague · 16/08/2013 15:49

I'm going for an extension on my apology in advance. I sit here, a shadow of my former self, various university details on different tabs, DS dispatched to the open day of his new option that has turned out to not be what it seemed and I just realised, on opening the door to a delivery man than I'm still in pjs albeit with only one button done up on the top. Classy.

Pomegranatenoir · 16/08/2013 15:58

I love spending the day in PJ's!! It's been ages since I have been able to do that! I really miss it.

I'm about to start moving furniture around - times like this I wish I had a man!!!!
