I took a couple of days to think about the thing with Oil Rigger, and I found that I genuinely missed talking to him. I'm going to give it another go, because he seems in so many ways exactly what I'm looking for and I do enjoy his company. Plus, he has clearly had the "oomph moment" and I'd like another chance. Just because there wasn't a thunder strike on first meeting doesn't mean there isn something there, right?

One thing I am a little concerned about is that he is catholic, and I am a garden variety Christian. What are everyone's thoughts on different or conflicting religions in relationships?

Really, I think that stuff only matters if one person tries to override another or doesn't respect their views. Being able to respect the other's views but not impose anything would be the key.

Personally, I have issues with strict Catholic teaching but as long as a man doesn't jump out of bed to wash right after sex or have a Madonna/whore complex try to impose that on me, I don't see an issue.

Same god, of course. I just personally don't agree with some catholic dogma, that's all. But, he's already told me he doesn't agree with everything the Catholic Church says or does, but that "any free thinking person would be hard pressed to find a religion they agree with every single point, and some/most of Catholicism resonates so I go with it".

Jumping up to wash after sex would be too weird. And I'm not sure how I would feel about it if he refused to have sex outside of marriage, tbh. But it's early days and none of that has come up. True to form, I'm borrowing trouble.

What is it about washing the cock after sex then? Is it more than just personal hygiene of the foreskin? Have had this happen before ..it doesnt bother me cos I suffer from cystitis and often like to douche after....so unromantic for sure ...but...

Raf - sex with Catholics, a specialist subject of mine, although I will just point out it's not some bizarre perversion it was a matter of opportunity. I've not known any of them to wash after sex, exh as I've said before had numerous ishoos with sex but that was just an outward expression of his misogyny and even he didn't do that.

Unless he's a carpet chewing fundamentalist Catholic, he'll probably be relatively normal. ( I speak as an ex-convent schoolgirl who spent many years having Original Sin rammed down my throat )
