CailinDana · 09/05/2012 12:22

The first three parts of this thread:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

The purpose of these threads is to allow survivors of childhood sexual abuse, their partners, friends, or parents, to talk in a safe place about what they think and feel. Nothing is off limits or taboo, just say what you want to say.

Aw sick wee ones Sad bit useless probably but lavendar and chamomile baths are good for settling them.

Hope your eye's ok? I'm always whacking my glasses into my face Hmm can you temporarily sellotape them?

Thanks for the birthday wishes, poor sod is in the middle of exams so can only have a quiet one.

Hope your ankle gets sorted Dotty.

NicNocJnr · 16/05/2012 13:43

Fair enough! I didn't know that about Sc.
Still no harm in you icing and arnica-ing too!

CailinDana · 16/05/2012 13:47

They're sort of half-frames if that makes sense and one lens has come away from the frame. When that has happened with other glasses I've just popped the lens back in sellotaped it but it won't work with these ones.

CoffeeAhorlickAnonymouse · 16/05/2012 13:53

There are miu's in scotland.

Bit of glue Cailin? Can you get a taxi or neighbour to help?

dottyspotty2 · 16/05/2012 13:59

Not in the Borders Coffee never seen them anywhere else either tbh back of beyond here even though were in one of the biggest towns.

CoffeeAhorlickAnonymouse · 16/05/2012 14:13

You need to google them, they're usually in one of the cottage hospitals, saves people who are too far from the main hospitals from travelling too far. You'll probably have an ambulance station near you too.

dottyspotty2 · 16/05/2012 14:16

Main ambulance stations here were only 3 mules from big hospital most of the cottage hospitals have been shut here as well all about money sadly.

dottyspotty2 · 16/05/2012 14:19

Just looked one 18 miles away at the only cottage hospital left

CoffeeAhorlickAnonymouse · 16/05/2012 14:21

you just need to google your address and it'll give you directions to your nearest.

If it's very minor your local pharmacist will treat you, they have a minor complaints service. I went for corn treatment at mine a few weeks ago.

Anyway, Cailin, hope you get something sorted.

NicNocJnr · 16/05/2012 14:24

What a bugger about your glasses Cailin. Still more worried about your bash to the eye though.

Dotty - people in the borders don't actually measure in Mules still do they!

dottyspotty2 · 16/05/2012 14:24

LAWLS!!
Dear god woman you had me near fainting dead away with the worry!!

Because normally it goes thusly : Nic, will you do me a favour? Do kaindly feck orf.

I will try to do said favour with no problems now the relief is steaming off me

CoffeeAhorlickAnonymouse · 16/05/2012 14:41

No hooks Shock sorry if I put too much out there.

CailinDana · 16/05/2012 14:44

My eye is ok, just a bit sore. I put some ice on it and that's helped. I managed to rig up the glasses so they'll last till tomorrow when I can get them fixed. Feeling a bit better now, as is DS who is on his second apple of the day I'm actually a bit worried that the depression I had years ago is creeping back a bit, I'm just feeling a bit worn down lately. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Roffle. I think my interpretation was all skewiff!

I'll be honest if I have to perform SOH CPR I have very little at my disposal - my meagre collection of knock-knock/fart jokes may well mean your SOH lives...but it would never again get anything other than Norman Wisdom.

dottyspotty2 · 16/05/2012 14:45

Nic just noticed that was wondering what you where on about oops you know what I meant you buggers

CoffeeAhorlickAnonymouse · 16/05/2012 14:48

we go to aibu to tell people to feck orf so it's easier for mnhq to delete as it's closer to the Wine

Wouldn't tell you to feck orf anyway, big squidgey hugs ya wee dafty :o

Tells Cailin about Nics fartnips.

NicNocJnr · 16/05/2012 14:49

Cailin, do you find you have any success with things like StJW & Milk Thistle?
I know many people on both sides of the fence some say it helps to lift them when the feel a little-moderately down and can help get back to normal and some say it doesn't really help much at all.
I honestly can't say either way.
Are you still having reviews?
Feeling overwhelmed is understandable, is there anyone able to give you some time to yourself?
