Am I the only bi-mum on here?

OP posts:
Thingumy · 05/01/2012 14:39

I doubt it.

Bangtastic · 05/01/2012 14:39

Why would you think you were? Hmm

Cantthinkofafunnynickname · 05/01/2012 14:44

didnt see any other threads or people shouting "Im bi"!

OP posts:
Bangtastic · 05/01/2012 14:46

That may be because it's a parenting site, not a dating site.

There is a section for lesbian/gay parents in the Childcare section though, knock yourself out!

Bangtastic · 05/01/2012 14:47

Make that 'Being a parent' section.

Cantthinkofafunnynickname · 05/01/2012 14:47

ahhhhh thanks for that

OP posts:
loopylou6 · 05/01/2012 14:48

Well I wouldn't think its necessary for people to make a point of declaring their sexual preference on a parenting site

loosyloo · 05/01/2012 14:50

To be honest, I couldnt care a stuff about what anyone else does and who with in the privacy of their own bedroom and usually its irrelevant to the subject

Cantthinkofafunnynickname · 05/01/2012 14:51

no but perhaps (as being new) I could chat with other like minded mums

OP posts:
loopylou6 · 05/01/2012 14:56

Why would you only want to chat to other bi mums? Do you parent differently to straight mums? Confused

loopylou6 · 05/01/2012 14:58

Nobody here cares about your sexual preference, you're not gonna be treated any differently because you like women.

Cantthinkofafunnynickname · 05/01/2012 14:58

No but perhaps I could talk about some of the problems I encounter being bi-sexual and they can relate to that

OP posts:
loopylou6 · 05/01/2012 15:00

Ok, whatever you feel comfortable with.

Welcome by the way :)

GypsyMoth · 05/01/2012 15:00

What problems?

BarfAndHeave · 05/01/2012 15:04

Hi - if you've not found that topic yet its here

SarahStratton · 05/01/2012 15:07

Does it actually matter? I talk to loads of posters on here, on Twitter and on FB. It never actually occurs to me to wonder what their sexuality is, as it's totally irrelevant.

Cantthinkofafunnynickname · 05/01/2012 15:08

thx for the welcome

thx for the thread

OP posts:
BarfAndHeave · 05/01/2012 15:12

Its no different to me asking if anyone else is a step parent. It doesn't matter if you are or not, but if I have some specific questions about it, thats where I'd want to go IYSWIM.

AbbyAbsinthe · 05/01/2012 15:14

Isn't the whole point supposed to be acceptance regardless of sexuality? Hmm

Cantthinkofafunnynickname · 05/01/2012 15:14

I do - as said Im new here and dont class myself as a lesbian or gay - hence why I was asking if there was a thread

OP posts:
SarahStratton · 05/01/2012 15:18

This is going to sound totally stupid, so bear with me please, but what sort of problems do you encounter? I can see that you could come across prejudice if you were openly living in a gay partnership/marriage, but are people really that prejudiced about someone being bi?

I don't agree with the prejudice, just to make that completely clear. It's just a sad fact of life that there are some incredibly ignorant people out there who need shooting educating.

Sorry, that is awful Cant, but we're not like that here. It's quite civilized apart from Friday nights and I hope you don't get any prejudice from anyone.
