My partner has been out of work for 6 months, refuses to sign on & doesnt seem to be looking for a job.

I sold loads of stuff on ebay so we could make it through to the end of the month...and he's spent it all. Not sure how or what on.

Although I cried so much yesterday, I think he will get off his arse and do something now. He feels guilty (rightly so).

Im so depressed. Even my 4 month old appears to be totally fed up and all he wants to do is sleep. I think he's totally bored out of his mind as I cant afford to take him anywhere! I play with him for hours usually, but Im so depressed right now I cant even get off the sofa to be perfectly honest.

on maternity leave at the moment - should have said that we are in loads of debt so money is very tight. Debts accumulated by him & his gambling. We are starting a DMP with CCCS next month but I just wish he would get a job or something! That would at least help put some food on the table....im just starting to resent him. I cant bear looking at him right now...

How are you fedding your baby - if you're BF'ing you really need to find a way to eat something.

Do you have friends you can visit?

Is there a food bank in your local area? Where you might be able to get a food parcel?

Do you have family you could stay with, until your partner sorts himself out and starts earning?

The Salvation Army may be able to assist you further, you cannot go on like this. You'd be better off without this man in your lives.

dh is out of work and doesnt sign on because he isnt eligibile (dont ask me why, Ive not got a clue) but we always have food in the house. how on earth has it got this bad op?

i am breastfeeding - he is well cared for and is not going without anything. Any spare cash I did have went on nappies, wipes etc for him. Im claiming everything i can but partner gambles everything away.

So... his debts, his gambling, him refusing to sign on. I can see an obvious solution to this one - show him the door!

If you're really not able to afford food, get your health visitor or doctor to give you vouchers for a foodbank. How are you affording to feed the baby if not BFing? You know if you are BFing, you need to eat yourself?

Ive got family nearby but Im so embarrassed to ask them for help. I really am doing my best and have worked nights for the past few weeks...so will get paid a bit extra at the end of the month, which will help. But i cant even enjoy my mat leave because Im under such pressure and partner does nought.
