First of all for everybody that knows my story i want to say thankyou for all the help i recieved. I honestly think that mumsnet helped me get through a very difficult time.I put the support i got from here as one of the positive things to come out of the situation. For any of you going through a break up or a bad situation use this, it helps so much. At some points i was full of despair not knowing which way to turn i was guided out of the darkness by the smallest of comments everything everybody wrote helped in some way. Thanks again and i will never forget you all xxxxxxxxx

OK, email me when you can and we'll sort something out!

I'll come round in a balaclava by appointment...

fio2 · 02/10/2003 11:26

janh are you really 6 feet tall?

janh · 02/10/2003 11:31

fio, I really am!

(It was very useful last Sun when I was helping unclip the nets from the goals at DS's football match. I can also reach top shelves in supermarkets. Other than that it's a pain in the bum.)

fio2 · 02/10/2003 11:38

gosh jan Do you have to shop at Long Tall Sally then? Mind you Dorothy Perkins do a good Tall range now. I thought I was tall until I went into long tall sally

Cam · 02/10/2003 11:41

My sis-in-law is 6' 1"

janh · 02/10/2003 11:44

I do shop at LTS but mostly they are too long - the trousers that is, esp as I don't wear heels. Also mostly too smart, I dress on the sloppy side of casual!

Didn't know about DP, I'll have a look, thanks, fio...trouble is I am bigger than I used to be and have to get 16-18 bottoms and 18-20 tops which cuts down the choice a bit.

(Except at LTS, in S/M/L I am a M there, I love it! Still 18-ish in ordinary sizes though.)

How tall are you then, fio?

janh · 02/10/2003 11:46

Cam, how does she feel about being so tall? It's easier now than it was when I was younger to find clothes and shoes, but you're just so conspicuous!

fio2 · 02/10/2003 11:48

Oh Im only 5ft 8ins. But I have to have longer length trousers, but not in the Tall range at DP's the would swamp me. I have to buy the tops in the Tall range because all other tops are too short. DP's range goes up to a size 24 I think, definatley up to 20. My MIL is 5ft10in and she has clothes problems too. It seems she has to spend alot more money to get a 'normal' looking outfit

janh · 02/10/2003 11:54

Do the DP clothes also have wider shoulders and longer sleeves?

fio2 · 02/10/2003 11:57

yes, maybe worth a look if you have got one near. It's not a huge range but they have got quite a varied selection.

doormat · 02/10/2003 17:48
