The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Giving Up Booze For Lent.

Hello.

I'm Mouse. Smile

We are a Bus load of posters with various relationships with the demon booze. Some are sober, some are not and some are inbetween.

So come say hi and meet the rest of The Babes, there's always plenty of room on the Bus, the doors are ALWAYS open.

No judgy pants are worn on this journey, pants yes and even the odd Tena Lady but always of the non judging variety. Grin

Morning all!

I liked the straight talking JWN (and giggled a bit at the disclaimer!)

Upsy

"I need to hear that life can still be fun without drink because that's what i find hard to believe at the moment."

By the sounds of it you would be harder to convince that life is fun WITH a drink because, the way you describe it, yours sounds miserable.

If it helps, I can honestly say that I would not exchange the best of my days while drinking for the worst of my days while sober. Being drunk was shit, end of - yet I persisted for at least three years after it had stopped being fun. That's three years of drinking practically EVERY SINGLE DAY and all the fuck-ups that go with that. At 27 I felt like an old man and was wondering if I would even see 30, let alone enjoy it.

I think it is an excellent idea to "come out" to someone in real life. However, when I did this, I found out that I was the last person to know that I had a serious problem with alcohol, so don't be surprised if the reaction does not require smelling salts. Good luck with it.

Mornin'

been outside in the sunshine weeding my veg garden, lemme wash my hands and I'll help tidy up

Wednesday is usually the day when my "no weeknight" drinking crumbles... I go to choir, come in around 11 and am thirsty and buzzing , so start on the drink to relax me usually.
I'll check in later, can bring chips as I'll be passing the late chippy on my way home Wink

Hi IsIndie, suffering the effects of couple bottles of red wine today, so head fuzzy, eyes blurry, body needs to rest but unfortunately not possible as I have a day's work to get through!

mouseface · 06/04/2011 11:08

Oh he was going for it. Big time. Plus the snuffling snorting as he was trying to breathe. I have to say that I'm mainlining coffee yet again today!

Hi everyone and hi to all the newbies. Thank you for my birthday messages yesterday. I feel really rough today but not from overdoing things last night as I didn't have anywhere near what I would have usually had on my birthday. I have an awful head cold, constantly sneezing and blowing my nose. Had a lovely day yesterday despite being at work and having a cold. Went for a drink with new DP and DC's at teatime and then we all went to my parents for dinner, spoke to my brother and one of my sisters who are both up for Easter so can't wait. DP is away with his DC's on friday for a week, he is taking them to New York!

p.s. Mouse I am eating a babybel as I type. Hope the nurse has some good/positive news for Nemo

mouseface · 06/04/2011 12:10

Thanks Zany Smile

Hi all

It's so mad busy on this bus at the moment and sooo noisy.

It's lovely to hear (read) all the chats.

Mouse hope Nemo is ok and that you're doing ok too. It must be so difficult for you. My dd has been really poorly recently but is on the mend and the stress I have experienced has hit the roof so my heart really goes out to you. Nemo is looking very cute, bless him.
