A thread I was on last night made me finally realise that the ridiculously-ballsy caricature of a reputation that goes before
this name was devaluing the message I was trying to convey. It was the gaslighting one, FWIW, but this isn't really about that.

I am not going anywhere, I love MN too much but AF has to go

Just wanted to get it off my chest, and hopefully stop the "where is AF" speculation that sometimes can go along with a prolific poster suddenly stopping posting.

I don't particularly like the sweary names, but I 'know' the people behind them, and love them for what they write, think and do.

Even if we were all forced to have fluffy sparkly media-friendly name, we would still be portrayed as a bunch of hormonal man-biting harpies.

It's how the media refer to ANY group of strong women with independent thought, opinion, so what we are called means literally nothing at all to them.

I am really pissed off actually at this ridiculous bunfight on AF's thread.

If there IS anything that will portray us as a group in poor light, it's exactly what has taken place on this thread.

Some of you ought to know better, and as for the threats towards one another, I think you ought to be looking at proper name changing, cos I won't forget such thuggery in a while, and I doubt I'd be alone.

Actually, I don't iron anything, straight from the washer or dryer to be hung up.

DH irons his shirts but most of the rest of it is iron free.

Plus, ironing would serioulsy impact on my MNing time.
