hi bigfoot and welcome. you remind me of me and i just arrived here about a week ago when i was up to a regular bottle a night.
Have slipped tonight though - was doing spritzers but have just downed a big glass of wine no spritz.
Fortunately there is no more in the house and no money to buy any more so will watch Autumnwatch and try not to be too angry with myself......

bigfoot - how about trying a week off and seeing how it makes you feel? It'll be good for your body and if you're worried, you ought to see how being sober that long makes you feel.

Well ... I'm on day 8 and feeling restless now. DH was working late (usually, that tempts me to drink a bottle before he gets in, buy another and pretend I've 'just started' ... it's not good ...), but I distracted myself by cooking a tagine from scratch.

Now that's done I'm clockwatching to get to 11.

I have been MIA for a while... have not got the time to go through the previous thread and posts but wanted to let you all know that I am safe and well. Have been sober since Monday but previous to that was... not.

I will try to make some time to read back and see what has been going on since my sudden disappearing act.

rp, it never ceases to amaze me that we have this pull to drinking and yet whenever one of us does, they rarely come on here and post about how great it makes them feel. crazy isn't it. keep posting and then come back to the posts when you are next tempted.

I survived the big city (feeling very small town). Told friend I wasn't drinking, she was surprised but other than that it was a total non issue. Massage was lovely and no boozy toxins ooozing out of me!

Plus house exchanged today. We are finally moving. Am slightly in shock that its actually happening. And scared.

Keep strong brave babes (and blokes). I know how tough it is but it is worth it. Tmrw is 8 weeks for me. When I first posted on here I was scared and couldn't imagine how I could do one night without a drink but I did, then another and another.

I love the new name! And thank you for the welcome. I am guessing I have missed loads?!

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the welcome back. I have missed you all! As well as being drunk on and off for 8 days I was signed off work due to depression so had no access to the computer.

It has been a tale of booze, booze and yet more booze. Although I have not had a drink since Monday it has taken me until today to recover - anyone out there considering picking up again let that be a lesson to you: it ONLY gets worse!
