Well, this is our tenth thread so we are throwing a little party!

Everyone is invited! No booze of course, soft drinks and mocktails only!

I'm Mouse, hello. Smile

There are all kinds of drinkers on board the bus. Come and join the journey, whatever stage you are at, drinking, cutting down, wanting to stop or sober already.

Everyone is welcome to post here. Come say hi.

The journey so far is below.

Diabolik your quite right womens' bums are best left alone! Now shouting at laptops that sounds cathartic and won't give you a hangover Grin

Whitenapteen · 13/10/2010 13:10

Diabolik
Bless us - we women do make it difficult. To the 'bum' question, there is no right answer!
Hope the computer gnomes get their act together for you. As others have said, at least you're tackling such incompetence with a clear head and sense of humour.

VampireMouseface · 13/10/2010 13:11

Headlesshippychicky?

HippyChucky? - The doll/thing from Child's Play?

Hmm....... we else do we need to Halloween up?

VampireMouseface · 13/10/2010 13:13

dianotherday ?

MorticiaPerrier · 13/10/2010 13:14

Mouse what are you like! Grin...
Or how about Witchychick!

diabolik · 13/10/2010 13:16

MP "best left alone " errrr Wink

WP yep I think I use that during my next client visit :)

.... and then we have computer gnomes who do all this stuff for you and that safes x

MsGeepers · 13/10/2010 13:18

My vote is witchychicky!

Diabolik, sorry you are having a crap day, hope it improves, perhaps a nice lunch?

mouse you are very in the halloween mode... I have already got DD a costume and she makes me wear the hat that matches it. She just thinks its another pretty dress

MorticiaPerrier · 13/10/2010 13:21

MsGee I am so jealous of you and LittleMissGee. I have two thumping great boys... well man/boys now. If I had a DD she would be impossibly pink! Grin

MsGeepers · 13/10/2010 13:34

Morticia I must admit that I am very happy to have a girl! Although I am not girly, I am not the outdoors type either (think bookworm geek, glasses and hair like Dougal from magic roundabout and terrible dress sense, JWN would cry at my sensible shoes). My nephew is SO boisterous I can't keep up with him. How do you manage with the thumping man boys?

Mind you, you might not have been jealous at 7am when we had the "but I want to wear the pretty purple stripey dress" tantrum. I finally convinced her that a long t shirt was a very chic dress and got her in sensible leggings - dresses are not conducive to nusery activities. Everyone at her nursery is having a pyjama day. LittleMsGee refused to wear hers because pyjamas aren't pretty! gah! I dread the day she realises that I am deeply uncool and have no dress sense.

Is it just me sobbing at the miners on tv today? I have to stop watching or I just blub.

HammerMousefaceOfHorrors · 13/10/2010 13:35

Ta-da!!!!!

I think I prefer this or should I take the 'face' out?? Will everyone still know it's me, Mouseface?!

MsGeepers · 13/10/2010 13:38

Lovely Mouse - I would keep the face in to be honest but then I am slightly thick on such things!!

HammerMousefaceOfHorrors · 13/10/2010 13:40

Super. Job Done!! Thanks lovely........

How's the house stuff going?

HammerMousefaceOfHorrors · 13/10/2010 13:41

I can't watch the miners, I can't see for crying and I made the mistake of watching Monday's Eastenders.

Oh. My. God!

MorticiaPerrier · 13/10/2010 13:41

MsGee you made me jump! I love my new name!! Well it's fair to say I love my Man/boys to smitherines. Sadly in their eyes I am seriously uncool, and best not seen out in public, as it could seriously damage their street cred!
Mouse have you been at the witches fingers!!! They are very sugary you know Grin

MIFLAW · 13/10/2010 13:42

Diabolik

Did you go to AA in the end? How was it?

Please take it from me, btw - there is no problem in your life, however bad, that a drink of alcohol will not make even worse. Don't give in to the poor me's! (As in, "poor me, poor me, pour me another.")

MorticiaPerrier · 13/10/2010 13:44

HammerMouse (you nutter) I watched it too!! Way too close to home as mother of said Man/boys Sad

hippychicky · 13/10/2010 13:46

Thanks for the suggestions....i will just take a moment of quiet contemplation to decide......

MsGeepers · 13/10/2010 13:47

I didn't watch EastEnders but I hear most episodes through the wall from my neighbours .... Grin

Glad its not just me blubbing then ...Smile

House - we apparently exchange today (no news yet)so all set for moving next friday. I cannot wait!!

Morticia, soon your man/boys will be treating you and looking after you. Boys are much nicer in the man/boy phase. I am all braced for being hated for 10 years!! DD told me off for cuddling her this morning! She is one stroppy lady.

hippychicky · 13/10/2010 13:56

meet the new witchetychick - the slightly less nice version of hippychick. I think it suits me much better.
And for my next dozy question - how do I change my name?!

MorticiaPerrier · 13/10/2010 13:56

MSGee I'll keep my chocolate Witches Fingers crossed for you Grin

HammerMousefaceOfHorrors · 13/10/2010 13:59
Grin

That's why I blubbed like a guden at EastEnders.

DD is almost at the 'hate my mother' phase. Nemo is too little to look after me yet but I'm making a list for when he's bigger!! Grin

HammerMousefaceOfHorrors · 13/10/2010 14:00

hippy - go to 'MyMumsnet at the top of the page, log in and then go to 'registration Details'

Change your MN nickname and save. Job Done.

HammerMousefaceOfHorrors · 13/10/2010 14:01

Oh, and if you have more than one page of MN, you need to refresh before you try and post.

MorticiaPerrier · 13/10/2010 14:05

Kids eh! Sometimes I wish they came with a manual! My youngest DS from 13yrs to 15yrs only did hateful grunting! Then suddenly ... no in honor of the moment SPOOKILY, he woke one day and said 'Morning Mum how are you today Shock and has been a rather nice chap ever since!!

MsGeepers · 13/10/2010 14:08

MOrticia, I shall remember that throughout the teenage years. I think I was horrible to my mum during my early twenties too though Sad
Although I do ring her every day now Grin

thanks for the crossed fingers... am sure it will be fine. All gone smoothly since I had my meltdown and DH took over!!

Mouse, hope DD's teen phase is as swift and painless as possible...
