I mean, if I had a cock, this programme would make me want to slam it in the door.

did he ever slam his cock in a car door?

midnightexpress · 05/09/2008 13:26

Cappy, I had a drink with Adam Hills once (well, a friend and I did. I was the tag-along). He was charming, but we blew it by laughing about dogs getting shiatsu massage (he is a practitioner) and then he told us v seriously that it's very good for animals. Hey ho. Mildly intersting factoid: did you know he only has one foot?

re radio 4 comedy. Even CAS is better than the dreaded afternoon play which is almost invariably something that I imagine might have been written in crayon by a 5 year old. I like the rambling Welsh man though and I also like Armando wotsit's thingummybob.

But you must all come up here one day and witness the horror of Scottish 'comedy'. Elaine C Smith? Jonathan Watson? Tam Cowan? I tell you, you have no idea the depths of awfulness.

Threadwworm · 05/09/2008 13:30

Armando wotsit's thingummybob. Is Swedes selling that too??

ahundredtimes · 05/09/2008 13:32

In that case midnight, I take it all scottish radio-listening men walk with permanent limps?

ahundredtimes · 05/09/2008 13:32

Also, how come only one foot? What happened to the other and also, matching shoes? Y or No?

Threadwworm · 05/09/2008 13:33

He bucked the trend and slammed foot in door.

midnightexpress · 05/09/2008 13:34

All discerning Scottish radio-listening men.

ahundredtimes · 05/09/2008 13:34

lololol thready. Bloody scots, they always have to be different don't they?

midnightexpress · 05/09/2008 13:36

Matching shoes yes. I think it was a motorbike crash or some such. Though I much prefer Thready's explanation.

scanner · 05/09/2008 13:36

I find David Mitchell quite sexy in a kind of way.

policywonk · 05/09/2008 13:39

Is Radio 4 different in Scotland? I had a terrible shock last month when we went to Carmarthenshire and discovered that Radio 4 is different in Wales (and is sometimes in Welsh ). IorekByrnison and I spent some time shaking in the corner and had to be coaxed out with groaning tables of food tasty morsels.

Scrub that:

From Wiki:

Hills was born without a right foot and wears a prosthesis, which has become a frequent source of comedy.

Still, there's always his left foot (and presumably his cock) if things get really bad.

midnightexpress · 05/09/2008 13:41

I don't think so policywonk - we have BBC Radio Scotland all to ourselves and radio 4. Our cup etc etc.

policywonk · 05/09/2008 13:42

I've just Googled Adam Hills to see what the fuss is about. His photo on the Comedy Central site is a bit underwhelming, but maybe I was distracted by the announcement that 'Allo 'Allo is touring.

Now I can't stand Mock the Week. So self-consciously clever and arch. Makes me growl until DH chucks me out of the room. In fact much comedy makes me cross. I don't like being made to laugh.

policywonk · 05/09/2008 14:22

Actually I don't like MtW very much, but I do like Dara.

OP posts:
chunkychips · 05/09/2008 14:25

Love count arthur strong.

pigleto · 05/09/2008 14:31

I love dara, very sexy voice. Mock the week is very patchy but at least it doesnt contain stephen fry who should be ashamed of himself for agreeing to try to host "I'm sorry I haven't a clue"

Snaf · 05/09/2008 14:32

The Inuit robot was very funny last night.

Cappuccino · 05/09/2008 14:34

oh I can't stand Stephen Fry. Constantly popping up on people's "perfect dinner guests" wankery

why would you want to spend your dinnertime listening to Stephen Fry clevering away?

I have no idea why he has become a National Treasure.

Snaf · 05/09/2008 14:34

Whyohwhyohwhy was Lauren Laverne on it, though? I like her (at least, I don't dislike her) but she's not, ummm, funny.

Then again, neither is Andy Parsons...
