Radio Times Ambridge Diary 5-10 January
Leonard is knocked sideways by some emotional news and all does not go well when he faces a difficult day with the Brookfield family standing by his side. Harrison has to fight to keep his emotions in check when he faces a challenging callout, but then receives a surprising offer from his superior. Lily takes matters into her own hands when Brad tells her he's struggling, Jolene makes a rash decision at The Bull, and Khalil's mouth runs away with him.

12th January – 17th January 2025
12.1 Justin faces a dilemma, and plans forge ahead for Ruth.
13.1 Joy isn’t herself at all, and Helen considers her options.
14.1 Rex is left confused, and Neil has questions.
15.1 The verdict is in for Kirsty, and Brian finds himself out of his comfort zone.

oh well, if Harrison's doing wildlife protection I definitely want some of those lynxes, they can eat him before they eat David AND Pip. But no-one must know they did it, i don't want a hair of their little lynxy heads harmed.

If Harrison's put on wildlife protection, there goes my plan of having him run off with Kirsty. I was hoping this would be a build-up to the lines "Whatever happened to Kirsty and Harrison?" "Oh, didn't you hear? They bored each other to death."

Chelsea even. Unless she ends up being Mrs Ben Archer. I have a feeling that the future Brookfield will be from outside Ambridge, a bit like how Natasha became an Archer.

Chelsea as the chatelaine of Lower Loxley would be great as she would annoy Widderbeth.
I think the the SWs have great expectations for Pip and Stella, but I'm hoping it will end in tears.

Pip and Josh have heated exchanges about a widely debated issue, and Stella has to play peacemaker. Pip then finds herself with an unexpected house guest, and Josh stirs the pot with Ben. Vince, meanwhile, offers a controversial solution to a cricketing problem

The Carters have undergone turbulent times over the years - Susan’s post-natal depression and prison sentence, Emma’s car crash, Chris’ life-threatening accident at the wrong end of a horse, etc. And this week there’s angst at Ambridge View when the spectre of a long-standing family issue raises its hoary head… Pip and Josh are at it again, clashing over something that’s been a hot topic around the village, and Stella steps in - but can she succeed in making the sparring siblings see sense? Joy’s been on something of a ‘journey’ of late, but there’s no respite - she soon finds herself out of her depth and disaster strikes!
And there’s controversy at the cricket club when Vince throws his hat into the ring and ends up on a sticky wicket.

I'm slightly concerned by Freddie facing an uncertain future. Are the bloody trustees still faffing about? He was 25 about a month ago and okay, that is extremely young to take on responsibility for LoLo, but at some point the bullet has to be bitten.

Unless of course Elizabeth decides she's had enough and accepts Vince's proposal that they both retire to a life of luxury in ... I dunno ... Burkina Faso, perhaps?

I'm more a fan of primogeniture, but they cannot continue to deny Freddie his rightful role as Lord of Lower Loxley, even if he does outsource the bulk of it.

Maybe his "uncertain future" is that he can't decide whether to go on Tinder vs Grindr

Lily and Freddie are probably the most eligible young adults in Borsetshire, with the possible exception of Beth (or is that the name of Ben's dog - I forget).

Elizabeth can move in with Vince, or move into Julia P's old residence.

That’s the thing - I can’t reconcile ‘life changing’ with ‘uncertain future’ which would just be more of the same for Freddie.

I do wonder if all this shilly shallying and delay on the part of the trustees is really because the current generation of story creators cannot stand the stately home story and don’t know what to do with it. I mean they chose Nigel to get rid of because ‘posh’ - but they could hardly wipe out his whole family at once. I don’t think the TA creatives want to go near LL in any meaningful sense. That’s why it’s been reduced to a treetop walk and a bit of ice skating.
