Leonard is knocked sideways by some emotional news and all does not go well when he faces a difficult day with the Brookfield family standing by his side. Harrison has to fight to keep his emotions in check when he faces a challenging callout, but then receives a surprising offer from his superior. Lily takes matters into her own hands when Brad tells her he's struggling, Jolene makes a rash decision at The Bull, and Khalil's mouth runs away with him.

Interesting … I’d want the surprising news Lilian receives to be that Leonie and Mungo are coming to stay in Ambridge while Leonie’s back heals. But there’s no evidence of them in the cast lists. So maybe she won’t be the awkward customer at the Orangery.

I think the awkward customer could be Rupert Vansittart. He does rude very well!

Btw Denise is already living with Kirsty, it is the 3rd bedroom she is looking for a lodger for (Denise was mentioned by Kirsty in passing).

I hope that the absence of Joyless and Mucky isn't an indication that we'll have months of Roach-hell.
Who is Jenna?

I don't mind Joy and Mick. I don't want to hear anything from Amber and George before their golden wedding anniversary. They're both loathsome - nasty and stupid and dull. Nasty is fine but it needs interesting.

I'm with @IHaveAlwaysLivedintheCastle on Joy and Mick. They are disarmingly cheerful, helpful and apparently happy together. I like them for the same reason that I like Tracy and Jazzer. I also like the Maliks.

I mainly dislike most of the Archers - what a miserable lot!

Oh, and the prospect of another 50 years of The Archers makes me glad I'm old!

Stela seems to be off the castlist after this week. So either she's going to accept Brian's grovelling quickly and get back to work, or bugger off.

Stella isn't in it often enough as it is, and when she does appear Pip is rarely far away (at least, not far enough to be off-mic). But if no Stella means no Pip, then sorry Stella but I'll chip in for the leaving present.

And it can only be Adam presenting Brian with an ultimatum on the 29th …

What can Adam threaten to do, though? Never speak to Brian again would be a win for Brian. Pack up and leave Ambridge for somewhere with no contact with the outside world would be a win for everyone, particularly the listeners.

Anyone think it might actually be happening? I’ve been assuming the Bellamy Snell family would eventually move to Ambridge. What if his time with Leonie and Mungo has made Robert feel he’d like to move to be closer to them?

Chelsea celebrates her 21st birthday, but Amber drops a bombshell that surprises her and may risk their newly mended relationship. Tom insists that things must change at Bridge Farm, forcing Adam into a big decision, while Stella mulls over the offer of a great opportunity.

Lawrence’s ‘ungentlemanly’ behaviour towards Zainab and Chelsea has set Lynda on the path to vengeance. No one crosses La Snell! But the tables turn when Lawrence digs up dirt of his own, causing Zainab to do something she regrets and leaving Lynda facing a tough decision. It’s Chelsea’s 21st birthday, but the festivities are dented by a bombshell from Amber. They have only just reconciled following their tricky history, and by Chelsea risking airing her opinion, their newfound amity could be shattered. But Amber seems to have made a new friend in Kate when she books a treatment at Spiritual Home. Appearances can be deceptive, though… Elsewhere in Ambridge, Tom puts his foot down, while Rex puts his foot in it.

Seems the SWs do too, as they’ve forgotten her.

(Or is she another being very busy on TV?)

It just seems absurd to take an actor as good as Arthur Hughes and pair him off with someone who has turned Paul into a parody character. It's like Helen Mirren playing Juliet to Benny Hill's Romeo.
