Radio Times Ambridge Diary 5-10 January
Leonard is knocked sideways by some emotional news and all does not go well when he faces a difficult day with the Brookfield family standing by his side. Harrison has to fight to keep his emotions in check when he faces a challenging callout, but then receives a surprising offer from his superior. Lily takes matters into her own hands when Brad tells her he's struggling, Jolene makes a rash decision at The Bull, and Khalil's mouth runs away with him.

The real question is whether we believe anything Amber says. On the whole, I don't. But I expect the editorial team has decided on a bullying storyline, so that is what we will get. There will be lots of angst for Chelsea and a happy resolution once she has groveled enough to the horrible chit.

(she clearly hadn't the foggiest idea what Amber was on about, and was bewildered by the accusation.)

Can I just butt in to observe that a freelance person has subbed in for the Agricultural Story Adviser(?). I guess they had to have Stella walking to the village store to buy mints in order to mention a bit of farming, but it’s a start.

Can I just say I loathe Snell. Why does anyone put up with her?

The real question is whether we believe anything Amber says.

Not a word.

I wouldn't imagine Chelsea was duffing her up in the toilets but she can be quite abrasive and bullies often seem to be unaware and think it's all just banter.

I was hugely disappointed when LaSnell survived the GG fire.

I'm quite prepared to accept that Chelsea wasn't the kindest child in the school ... it would be surprising if she was! But I don't believe a word Amber says about her, or indeed about anything.

Two years above generally don't bother with the younger brats. They may despise them, probably do, but they don't go out of their way to have anything to do with people two forms below them in the school. Chelsea and her mates were probably scathing about Amber's year trying to look grown-up and looking a mess instead.

I’m surprised Chelsea took any notice of Amber at school. But maybe someone in Chelsea’s group did, and Amber’s paranoia made her think Chelsea’s disinterest/laughing was personal.
And Chelsea could be quite mean - remember when she went to the Cinema with Jake (Mia’s brother) just to dump him afterwards to go and hang with her mates.

As far as I can make out, the present definition of bullying might include "she looked at me funny once". So laughing when she was present might easily have been perceived by the sensitive little flower that is Amber to have been bullying.

Not that she isn't a bully herself, of course: what else was her vile attack on Neil? and before that, on Emma? (Did I hear someone say something about "she can dish it out but she can't take it"?)

James was always presented as being a fair-to-average poor entrepreneur; I doubt they could afford it. And I can't see why they would want to, either; James clearly despised his mother on every occasion he has appeared on air, only turning up if he wanted money from her, and Leonie and Coriander seem to have regarded Daddy as the Bank of Daddy rather than a much-loved father.

The only point of Leonie and Coriander seems to be to indicate (by their names) that their mother was every bit as overbearing and pretentious as Lynda.
