Oh I see! I didn’t realise - it’s always been a word I thought was quite sanitised!!

when I read the word I always hear blackadder saying it!!

But I don't think either of them do remember her. George doesn't at all and Brad sounded as if he were just tentatively throwing out generic comments out of politeness, rather than showing she was so unremarkable he never noticed her existence and she was very quick to move that conversation on.

That's not how I heard it.

Aggregated spoilers. Still worried about that chaplain in the cast week for week ending 18th. However, Mia and Toby return the week after that and Oliver makes a rare appearance in the cast. Maybe it will all be wonderful! Hmm

Radio Times 6th July to 11th July 2025
Oh dear, George has done it again (the voice of Joyce Grenfell echoes unmistakably in the mind). The consequences of his actions last week continue to reverberate as the wider family discover what he did and each member struggles with the news. At Berrow, Jazzer is uncomfortable about the professional and personal blurring when Martyn Gibson uses him as a shoulder to cry on, and at The Bull Alistair has some worrying news for Jolene that could bring a fresh nightmare.

Total TV Guide 6th July to 11th July 2025
Oh George. The ripples from Ambridge’s very own Al Capone’s actions last week spread around his wider family. As Will and Emma form a protective parental cordon around their errant boy, Clarrie puts her foot down. Not usually one to take time for self-reflection, Susan is rattled - and with good reason, it seems, when it turns out Neil has been hiding something from her. Martyn tends to be a peripheral figure - unless a boardroom or a golf course is involved, of course - but that could all change as he finds an unlikely confidante in Jazzer, and the lines between the personal and professional become blurred. We started to envisage what that might look like, and advise you not to do likewise…

Excellent combination of characters for the week beginning July 20th! Grin

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g!🙏

Madcats · 05/07/2025 17:35

It’s as if Liz John has had a quick rummage at the back of the cereal cupboard!

Gonners · 05/07/2025 19:15

Thanks @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g ... I assume that's the prison chaplain who would have to perform the rites? I wonder if they're obliged to do so for people who aren't churchgoers (George certainly isn't and Amber doesn't strike me as especially pious). If the chaplain's a stickler for such things, he may make them wait until they can get an appointment for the Registrar to visit, by which time George will be out of prison.

Also will Amber expect to live-stream the ceremony? 😆

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/07/2025 06:45

I'm concerned about Neil, suspect he has been disgnosed with Something.

TottersBlankly · 06/07/2025 06:51

I was worried before this week, but now it seems all Neil’s troubles are about George.

Bruisername · 06/07/2025 07:04

I think he’ll be diagnosed with something and won’t want to tell anyone and then it will all come out and make George feel bad

MollyButton · 06/07/2025 07:59

Well it’s likely that Mia knew Amber even better than Brad, as she was also in the same year at school.
I thought Amber trying to turn George against Brad was very unpleasant. In some ways George’s misogyny leaves him very vulnerable to manipulation.

DeanElderberry · 06/07/2025 08:04

Ireland's bureaucratic insistence on 90 days notice before a wedding must be tiresomely challenging for writers of melodrama.

Bruisername · 06/07/2025 08:14

How many days is it in England?

Gonners · 06/07/2025 09:22

29 days in England, except in "exceptional circumstances" like (presumably) terminal illness. But you have to see the registrar, so the prison chaplain won't do.

Buxusmortus · 07/07/2025 16:00

I really really hope Pip's question on the 20th isn't her asking Stella to marry her.

FondantFancyAnyone · 07/07/2025 16:19

Maybe she wants Fat Rosie to have a sibling.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/07/2025 16:28

Radio Times 12-18 July
While the Carters are still reeling from recent events, Susan thinks she can repair her relationship with George, but when Neil learns of the sacrifice she ‘s prepared to make he intervenes. Tracy is looking forward to her 50th and Jazzer has something special planned, but an unexpected guest throws a spanner in the works. Mick offers his help at the Bull, Akram gets involved with the summer fair and Justin stirs the pot.

Total TV Guide 12-18 July
Uh-oh. In the wake of recent upsets for the Carters, it seems a grand gesture is needed. This is according to Susan, who decides to martyr herself in a bid to fix her relationship with errant grandson George and duly dispatches hubby Neil to pick up her crown of thorns from the dry cleaners. Plans for the summer fete are gathering pace, and in a bid to prove his community spirit, Akram swerves into Lynda’s orbit. Sure enough, he’s soon reeling from the gravitational pull - until gentleman farmer Oliver proves a surprise saviour. Elsewhere in the village, it’s Tracy’s 50th and husband Jazzer wants to pull out all the stops - until an unwelcome intervention forces the birthday girl to take charge.

DeanElderberry · 12/07/2025 13:59

Is Terry going to be Terry Barford? That would be a nice bit of continuity.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/07/2025 14:08

Terry Barford was born in June 1960, so he'd now be 65. The actor playing Terry has a playing age of 26 - 35, according to his agent's page on him.
