All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you would be delighted to be given a goldfish named after your ex, or other unusual views.

Apologies for ignoring the various title suggestions on the last thread. However, here they are, plus a couple of other pithy observations, to kickstart the new thread. I think it's fair to say nobody is looking on this as a Golden Era! Goldfish Era, though ...

@Roysnewshirt: Everyone wants more! Chris wants more Amy; Jazzer wants more Tracey; Alice wants more time with Martha and Amy wants more space… Very true. And now we know Kirsty wants more farming expertise in the rewilding project, but not Pip (thank the lord) so does that mean approaching Adam? Currently under-employed.

@LillianGish: I tune in to hear birdsong and bleating in the English countryside not hammy acting and suggestive grunting.

@stilldumdedumming: Archers is good at the dynamics of family, farming, what it means to have your job, your home and your inheritance so closely aligned etc etc not this nonsense!

@DoctorTwo: Like fuck would Pheobe buy her parents a goldfish each. The Ambridge character transplant fairy has been working overtime this past few weeks, it's been absolutely fucking appalling bar a couple of exceptions.

Can't disagree with any of that. I want to hear more about the pigs and any other effects of Brexit. A topical insert about the war in Ukraine must surely be on the way.

On the subject of things that don't need cooking, I made some of the TA product placement item aka Instant Whip and although it was OK, it would have been better with whole milk

It was Angel Delight, though...

I think nowadays it's "will you be my girlfriend?" (going off my DS & mates...)

Well, that was odd. iPlayer showed Thursday's episode as running on Sunday. I thought it was some elaborate Aprils' Fool joke for the benefit of Australian listeners.

Anyway, Amy packed off, and seemingly more and more of an instrument to get some drama going in the Alice/Chris bust-up. of course, if she's upduffed, we'll be hearing more of the actor's terrible delivery. No pun intended. :o

That John Finnemore song should be compulsory listening for all restaurant owners who don't use plates - preferably all day every day until they mend their ways

He’s too thick to concede the point though. Amy is insane. What on Earth was she thinking asking Chris to move to bloody Nottingham?

Oh, and thigh was right up thread. Alice is the bunny. She’s desperate to ‘make amends’ and when Fallon said it was a shame Marthyr was with Chris as she thought they’d go bunny hunting, Alice darkly said ‘not today’ or something.

My thoughts exactly - I was actually picturing her leaving in a black cab pulling out of Albert Square (and I stopped watching EE years ago on account of exactly this kind of predictability). At least there was a bit of rewilding and I have learned the name of a new variety of pig (and where I might obtain one should I ever feel the urge).

I didn't hear her say that either but I could have missed it.

I haven't heard last night's yet but in the previous episode I believe The Oaty One was suggesting they make a go of it right there in Ambridge. You know, surrounded by his ex/her ex friend and their families etc. He must have a solid gold cock.

Probably about an hour and a half away by car.
