We listened to Prof Speigelhalter a couple of weeks ago and it was lovely - great music and a nice guy.
I also loved Ian Wright and Alan Carr (who normally irritates me)
Has anyone else got any recommendations?

Oh I have a massive crush on Kirsty Young. I was hoping against hope she'd be coming back to do DID

It's funny how we differ.
I really don't like her or her accent.
No idea why. I have Scottish ancestry.

Another for David Nott. Listen to his when I need to put things into perspective.

Ray Winstone and Ann Marie Duff were also fantastic

Lemn Sissay! Bloody brilliant

VincentVaguer · 15/04/2023 21:26

Davina Macall.

I am embarrassed that I don't remember her full name but Sabrina ? who is a lead fire fighter and came from homelessness to this. She was amazing. She seemed lovely and her story was astonishing really.

Kenneth Williams

Yes - and her book on Audible is very good too!

FiftyNotNifty · 16/04/2023 20:36

I loved Alan Cumming and Stephen Graham.
Oh and Kirsty Young!

ChocChipHandbag · 17/04/2023 14:44

Julia Donaldson, particularly when she talked about her son's mental health struggles.

extramaturecheddarcheese · 17/04/2023 19:38

@purplepencilcase thanks for that tip, I'll go and look for that now.

Ohyoudodoyou · 17/04/2023 19:42

I enjoyed Lesley Manville's recently, but I listened to a few very old ones a while back and enjoyed Terence Rattigan's one!

Anyone hear Ronnie O'Sullivan yesterday?
What a great listen and liked his music choices too.

Bearpawk · 29/05/2023 08:44

Bob Mortimer !

Bearpawk · 29/05/2023 08:46

And Andrew Ramroop the saville row tailor. Made me cry.

Nitgel · 29/05/2023 08:49

Ronnie o'sullivan was great, so interesting what a life. I liked Anna Ford and Peter Hennesey lately.

LizzieSiddal · 29/05/2023 08:54

I felt very sorry for Ronnie. He obviously loves his dad very much but what a dreadful childhood he gave him. No wonder he’s had addiction problems.

Same. Sue Lawley had the same effect on me. I think Lauren L is very good.

foreverbasil · 29/05/2023 09:04

Gaby Logan, very moving

Wasn't it. I blubbed my way through most of it. I lost my brother as a teenager though, so it struck quite a chord.

LadyEloise1 · 31/12/2023 09:26

I listened to Sir Paul Nurse's DID with Sue Lawley, recently.
That DID episode was many years ago
It was interesting in light of the subsequent discovery of his parentage, some years later.
Life can be extraordinary.
Here was a Nobel Prize winning geneticist who only discovered his parents weren't his parents but his grandparents, in his 50s.

gegs73 · 31/12/2023 14:11

Stephen King

Kingsleadhat · 31/12/2023 14:25

Jackie Kay and Val McDermid both good episodes

PixiePirate · 31/12/2023 14:28

Martin Lewis
Nazir Afzal
Sabrina Cohen-Hatton
Bryan Stevenson
Bear Grylls

If you have the BBC Sounds app, I also recommend the Grounded with Louis Theroux podcasts. There are several good ones (particularly series 1) but the standout interview for me was the one with Rose McGowan.
