Best Desert Island Discs

We listened to Prof Speigelhalter a couple of weeks ago and it was lovely - great music and a nice guy.
I also loved Ian Wright and Alan Carr (who normally irritates me)
Has anyone else got any recommendations?

David Nott and Nigel Owens are both excellent. David Nott I have listened to many times it always brings a lift. Baroness Hoyle was pretty recent and I liked her.

I have enjoyed all the episodes I've listened to.

Another mention for David Nott and also Lady Hale. Yo Yo Ma was good and Tracey Ullman and Wendy Cope.

I could listen to all of them tbh; it’s a great format for a programme

Tom Hanks and Eric 'winkle' Brown are the two that have stood out for me.
Joe Wicks surprised me.

Jo Malone was awful

David Beckham.. An anniversary edition, I don't watch football and have no interest in slebs.. But it was so good.
Second nigel Owen.
But often the people I don't know who they are at the beginning are most interesting

Len Goodman was good. He chose Pencil Full Of Lead by Paolo Nutini and I always think of him now whenever I hear it.

David Nott had me in tears. What a hero he is.

David Tennant's made me laugh and cry, it was wonderful.

Kevin Fong was awe inspiring.

Stephen Graham’s was wonderful. Tom Hanks too.

I also loved the owner of Timpson’s, James Timpson. Cool guy.

Jared Diamond. He is staggeringly accomplished and has such a love of music. It blew me away.

Ian Wright's was beautiful

Ricky Gervais was good, George Michael, Marian Keyes, Ant and Dec, loved Kathy Burke, Helen McCrorys was great. Anne Marie Duff was good too. so many!!

It’s many years ago now but Judith Kerr is the one whose DID I’ll never forget - talking about her peers who didn’t manage to leave Germany ad how she thought of them all the time, more than ever, of the lives they should have had. Keep the tissues handy.

More recently, I listened to some of the back catalogue while decorating. Deborah Meaden, Lady Hale, Richard Osman, Simon Reeve and Lyse Doucet were all great episodes.

Listened to Dr William Frankland this morning, fascinating man. Then put Ian Wright's on, had to stop listening as waiting to collect DD from activity and started crying before the first record, you lot could have warned me!!
