Welcome..... I'd concocted a longer title with all sorts of references to bitch stitching and pasta bakes, but was thwarted by the pesky character limit

My prediction is that after a huge and hugely successful chrismas lunch Jill will put her feet up in front of the fire with a glass of sherry and quietly pass away. The Canterbury Tales be fine.

I had wondered that but wouldn't they have done a big trail of "leading character to die" or had something about Patricia Greene retiring? I'm sure when Betty was leaving it was announced beforehand that she was retiring from the show to go to NZ.

What is TASWAMA?

WipsGlitter · 23/12/2018 19:45

I've not been on here or listened for ages but caught the omnibus this week. I also think Russ will make a play for Lizzie (boke).

Can't believe Jenny will have to move out of home farm. A favourite pastime of mine is perusing the Sunday Times property and picking out houses I think look like they could be home farm.

MrsGrindah · 23/12/2018 19:51

Re Ed and Emma.. I’m quite pissed off that everyone’s refers to it as “ affordable housing” all the time. You would just say “ a house” wouldn’t you , not “ the affordable housing “?!

MikeUniformMike · 23/12/2018 20:01

It bugs me too. I really can't imagine Brine and Jenny inn a 2-bed semi.

DoctorTwo · 23/12/2018 20:02

@bluefolder The Archers Scriptwriters Are Misogynistic Arseholes.

Grin Grin Grin

that's why google didn't bring anything up when I typed it in!

Cromercrab · 23/12/2018 21:00

Well, Jenny's being a brick. In her shoes, I"d be in floods at being reduced to this horrible little house, even if it is temporary. And absolutely tearing a strip off Brian.

PeakBrexit · 23/12/2018 21:36

Jenny's getting on my nerves with her burning martyr routine.

DeepanKrispanEven · 23/12/2018 21:43

I don't think a fire in the barn is likely, given that they're broadcasting the production on R4. I would assume that all the work they did on Wednesday satisfied the council that the fire risk was dealt with.

witchmountain · 23/12/2018 22:11

Oh dear, did Bess savage the bottom?

I thought Kirsty could have afforded to be a tiny bit more magnanimous.

Welcome back Quater and happy Christmas to everyone.

pattyhoo · 23/12/2018 22:22

Anyone else wondering what will happen when Kate comes back? I thought she had a separate cottage that she lived in, but in recent episodes it hinted she needed to move to (who's packing up her stuff?!). Perhaps I have misheard...

I'm desperate to find out who had bought Jenny & Brian's. For some time I had thought Justin was going to buy it but I don't think that anymore. Hmm

WipsGlitter · 23/12/2018 22:36

Why was Justin all flustered when the logs were delivered?

JessieMcJessie · 23/12/2018 22:45

I think just because it was an excuse for Eddie to turn up at his door and harass him further about emptying the Portaloo Wips.

MargueritaPink · 23/12/2018 22:58

Roy? Despite/because of their history he couldn't leave the mother of his elder daughter homeless.

LillianGish · 23/12/2018 23:21

Quater - you're back. Happy Christmas Xmas Smile. I think we should all remember that the Home Farm sale has not yet gone through. It's like the great North move followed by Heatherpet's move south - she got as far as Trowell before she threw in the towel.

MerdedeBrexit · 24/12/2018 06:02

LillianGish Grin And I hope you're right about Home Farm!

Bittermints · 24/12/2018 06:51

They were due to exchange contracts on Friday and we haven't heard that they didn't. It's a long time since we last moved and I hope I never have to do it again but isn't there a significant financial cost to dropping out between exchange and completion?

R4 · 24/12/2018 08:20

But if it is the buyer that drops out then we/Ambridge don't care because it will be the anon buyer's bill.
I'm going off Kirsty; she was unnecessarily unpleasant to Brine. Talk about kicking a man when he's down! She can get very sanctimonious at times and will turn into Pat in her old age.

R4 · 24/12/2018 08:32

Oh, and Quater what was that about "a few misapprehensions on t'thread" Confused
And hello MorticiaSmile

Paintingtheroseswhite · 24/12/2018 08:45

I'm getting irritated with Lynda. She comes up with these lavish productions and expects everyone else to do the work. Was muttering at the radio "why don't you roll your sleeves up and make a new bum then" when she was trying to drop the work on poor Fallon and then Kirsty. She's really not great at mucking in is she?

Paintingtheroseswhite · 24/12/2018 08:51

With the whole JD and Brine saga I hope the SW's do make them move to Willow Cottage, I'll be really annoyed if we have a predictable "Christmas is saved the buyers have pulled out" storyline.

However, that is exactly what I think will happen. I think as Kate has conveniently sodded off to South Africa there will be a phone call saying she's decided to stay out there and tit about doing whatever. Therefore Spiritual Home can be sold and JD gets to keep her kitchen etc.

Think there is far more script gold in JD and Brine at Willow Cottage and the potential for some new characters at Home Farm

ADarkandStormyKnight · 24/12/2018 09:17

I was furious with her for imposing on David after all he's done to help her.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 24/12/2018 09:18

'Her' being Lynda.
