Welcome..... I'd concocted a longer title with all sorts of references to bitch stitching and pasta bakes, but was thwarted by the pesky character limit

OP posts:
R4 · 04/12/2018 19:30

How many people did we have in that episode!?Shock Or was I bamboozled by lots of mentions.

grumiosmum · 04/12/2018 19:37

I wondered where you'd all gone, and here you are!

Just popped on to say I've made an Archers-inspired pasta bake for supper.

Very, very rare in my culinary repertoire. DH just said he loves it. We shall see.

DadDadDad · 04/12/2018 19:41

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's been a long time since we've heard Kirsty, isn't it?

Fink · 04/12/2018 19:41

Sad I was waiting till I had child safely tucked up so that I could listen in peace, but now I've tried and all I'm getting is a 'this episode is not available' message. I am Archerless! Sad

witchmountain · 04/12/2018 19:48

I’ve just listened to it as a podcast, Fink, try that?

R4 · 04/12/2018 19:49

I've found today's episode on CatchUp but I had to update Flash Drive before it would play.

Fink · 04/12/2018 19:59

Got it eventually, thanks for the help. Glad I didn't miss that characteristic show of strength and independence from Helen.

echt · 04/12/2018 20:07

Another one very Hmm at the ridiculously short settlement period for the houses sale. Cue buyer wanting to adjust the cost downwards at the last minute. God I haven't thought of Kate for ages. You'll be able to hear her whining in outer space.

And why is Helen all wibbly at going abroad alone (before Tony announced he wan't going) I know what she said, but it doesn't ring true.

DoctorTwo · 04/12/2018 20:53

Just noticed the family name of the people buying Brian and JD's house is Gill. Could they be TAs 1st Asian family?

Fink · 04/12/2018 21:04

It's a potentially Punjabi name, but also Scottish and other things. There's resident English-Ugandan-Asian Usha and recently departed Scottish-Asian Anisha. A bit more diversity in the village would be good.

But it won't happen, probably. Indian or not they're very likely never coming.

KingscoteStaff · 04/12/2018 21:05

Beautiful thread so rich and green.

Fink · 04/12/2018 21:08

That reminds me, is Dan still dating the possibly-black possibly-evangelical Christian possibly-gay Dorothy? We haven't heard anything about either of them for a while.

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/12/2018 23:42

Prodigious thread title Boing!

EBearhug · 05/12/2018 00:41

it's been a long time since we've heard Kirsty, isn't it?

Last week. And tonight or last night. Doing incidental stuff like pointing out what other characters are doing.

There's also been mention of Dan - he's doing Christmas dinner with Alistair, no mention of Dorothy, I don't think.

explodingkittensexpansion · 05/12/2018 00:49

Surely even the TA sw's know that conveying a property takes longer than 3 weeks, especially when it involves carving off a house from a larger piece of agricultural land?

I bought a house is 4 weeks from 1st viewing to moving in and they took a few days to decide. It involved splitting off another property/business and agricultural land.

BeaLola · 05/12/2018 01:29

If it's not Peggy buying the house how about Matt (to rub Brian's nose in it and lord it over everyone) . Long shot Ruari - does he have a trust fund from when Siobhan split from Brian ?

howdyho · 05/12/2018 04:38

Insomnia strikes - perhaps due to the excitement /apprehension over who has bought Home Farm!
I watched Home Alone, wish I hadn't.

Eastpoint · 05/12/2018 07:00

Thank you for the new thread NotDead.

stilllearnin · 05/12/2018 07:01

If it was a benevolent buyer eg Peggy, why would you keep them panicking about packing up and cancelling Christmas? I do hope it’s not Matt - but it is pants season Grin

PS Hi everyone- I’ve not posted for 2 or 3 years on this thread I don’t think!

stilllearnin · 05/12/2018 07:01

Ha I meant panto season- but either way!

DadDadDad · 05/12/2018 07:21

EBearhug - thanks. Yes, I heard Kirsty last night, that’s what prompted my question (which I could have phrased better).

OnceUponAGiraffe · 05/12/2018 07:32

On the house buying ridiculousness, I’m hoping to complete on 20 December (apparently the last working day of the year for the solicitor, as the 21st is a half day..) and that’s after we finally got going on 5 November. Money might buy speedier solicitors but it wouldn’t speed up the local authority search process...

Minimammoth · 05/12/2018 08:16

Well they’ve got us guessing..... erm Robin Fairbrother? One of Justin’s enterprises. Hazel?

ppeatfruit · 05/12/2018 09:25

I remember you stillearnin Grin welcome back Grin

Thanks for the slightly confusing new thread NotDeadYet and Bittermints. It's the Chistmas one Grin Is it?

Nah the SW's love to play with us about the barn, the play , the baby etc. etc...

Fink · 05/12/2018 09:26

It's Nigel's death on the Advent Calendar today. Promoting a quite traditional Christian view of Advent, the good old memento mori.

It reminded me that I never liked his voice. He was better as Helen's juror.
